  1. It was always the plan to replace it this season. Hence only the one concert being held at AG this year. The planning of hosting these events takes well over a year, with tickets going on sale about 6/8 months prior. Therefore, planning the events would be happening now for next season and ultimately the planning for the events this year would have been done at the end of 21/22 season. Only booking the one at the end of May means it was always the plan to have it redone. The fact the pitch looked crap at times this season, was in essence good timing.
  2. Ooooh baby do you know what loves worth Ross McCrorie is the best on earth The silky scotsman is just what we need He’ll take City to the Premier League
  3. He’s been called up to the France u21’s squad Good to see he’s doing well in France! Would/could we see him starting next season? If not, he may go and get game time to keep him in the French frame
  4. I don’t think they’ve realised that the ‘concourse’ will be predominantly for away fans…. They will still be stood in the pissing rain eating stale crisps and drinking flat Fanta. And looking at the empty site they have, is there enough room to have concessions in a concourse style? What with the stand being overhead, you think the first half would be unusable, then a concession stall and then about a 3m covered area for the fans to gather…
  5. Sounds odd, but Southampton seem to be the best suited for it. Likely outs Ward-Prowse, Elyounoysi and Lyanco But they have championship quality core in McCarthy, S Armstrong, A Armstrong and Adams coupled with some good young players who will probably excel in the championship. Leeds will have a complete overhaul, probably keep Ayling, Cooper, Meslier and Bamford. None of them being Dan favourites at the moment Leicester will struggle the most, aging squad when you take out the ones who will leave. Tielemens, Maddison, Iheanacho, Daka, Ndidi, Mendy, Castangne, Soyuncu, Dewsbury-Hall and Barnes Coupled with an owner who’s struggled for cash since the pandemic with Duty Free stores not earning a penny for 2 years. (Fofana money not reinvested at all) Leaves me with no confidence they will get players in. If they make the play offs, I’ll be shocked. The teams coming up have a financial backing, but will they have the pulling power to win over players from established sides? Plymouth will probably just stay up based on picking up points at home. Ipswich and Sheff Wed should also survive. QPR, Rotherham, Cardiff, Brum and Huddersfield could be in for a tricky season.
  6. Financial strain is the biggest killer of step 4-5 clubs. They are at the bottom of the FA Cup prize list unless they have a miraculous run. FA Vase pays a pittance until round 4 and some clubs pay ridiculous amounts to players. Hellenic League, some clubs had a wage bill of £2,000 a week…. (In total, not per player) This leaves some of the smaller clubs having to maybe pay players a little more to keep their assets that far down the pyramid. However, I reckon the main cause of this argument against being reprieved stems down to players not fancying it. It’s astonishing how a string of bad results means players all of sudden aren’t available. Maybe the club thought, what’s the point in staying up, losing each week and losing players interest. Go down, compete and have a chance to bring through younger talent whilst everyone’s enjoying it? I’ve had this argument with a few other Bristol and District/Combination managers over the years. (I don’t mean any disrespect here) some clubs finish a season with 3 points from 20+ games and a -80 goal difference. Then some teams win the league by December. I appreciate people will be upset by it, but a complete restructure to even out the teams that struggle and the teams that fly should make for 7 competitive divisions and hopefully we won’t have as many teams folding each year. There’s no enjoyment either side of a 10-0 win/loss. Where it could take 2/3 years to play at your level.
  7. I can’t remember which FM it was but my highlight was signing Marco Verratti and Robert Lewandowski for FGR when they were in the conference. A total of £80k was spent on the two of them. Sold for over £40m combined when I lost the championship play off final. Lewandowski scored 42 goals and finished top scorer in the Euro Qualifiers. Verratti was consistently man of the match.
  8. I didn’t realise there were so many Insurance nerds on OTIB… Wonderful industry to be in, sounds boring as *beep* from the outside though. On the above, the wording will have to watertight on the reasonable steps. I.e. don’t let a Rovers lawyer write the wording… I’d be happy to challenge the definition of reasonable. As long as the club hired an experienced pilot and a reputable company for the plane I would say that’s reasonable. If the owner of the plane hasn’t maintained or serviced the plane I would argue that’s not the clubs fault. Saying that, I don’t know the ins and outs of the incident, who was hired and who hired who or who was acting on behalf of the club. Glad they have an embargo, again, not knowing the full ins and outs, if terms have been agreed and signed he’s a Cardiff player and the money is owed. I appreciate this matter is more serious but it’s no different to a player signing and the next day falling down a flight of stairs and ending his career.
  9. A fair few times he’s passed to his fellow CB when he could just roll it to Bents. Reason we conceded against Blackpool. Got caught out tonight almost as well. It seems him, Atkinson and Vyner can play amazingly for 88 minutes but always have 2 minutes where they’ll concede a chance. Teams will punish us for that
  10. Throw ins are my pet peeve at all levels of Football. You launch it line immediately into a 50/50. You win it. It’s another 50/50. The most common handover of possession is conceding a throw in. At lower levels especially it’s handed straight back with an aimless launch down the line. If you can keep possession regardless of it going back to the keeper it’s definitely more proactive than gambling on 1 to sometimes 3 50/50’s going in your favour. My team used to get crucified for losing possession within 10 seconds of a throw in. If you manage to get the ball to the other side of the pitch in 10 seconds it’s almost a guaranteed shot at goal. (Grass roots and non league football)
  11. I make it 6. Just saying Weimann, Wells, Semenyo, Martin, Conway, Atkinson
  12. If there’s any left I could buy them off my account for you? I’m sure they can either be emailed, posted to you or sent up on the coach. Would be a shame if you missed it seeing as it is the closest game to you!
  13. The Saggers and Swindle look out of it, got to gain a point a game on others to be safe and looking at both their runs in I doubt that’s doable. What a shame...
  14. It doesn’t look pretty for them. A few of them pondering why Ben Garner was sacked as Tisdale hasn’t changed a thing. And we get called fickle.....
  15. With the possibility of football returning with no away fans it could be a struggle next season for the blue few financially No crowd boosters with games against Sunderland, Plymouth, Swindon, Ipswich, Portsmouth they could struggle to turn the lights on at the end of the season with only 5k people turning up for a home game
  16. Only done about 30/40k in them. But surely that’s enough to wear them in a bit? Got them at the start of the year I do have terrible feet though, wide with little arch, but they fit comfortably and don’t hurt whilst running
  17. Haven’t had shoes fitted properly yet no, I start and end with a walk as well, more likely the shoes then! Now things are opening up again I’ll have to have a look into sports massage. I’m planning on doing the Bristol 5k, 10k and potentially Half next year so will be doing a lot of running, massage could well be needed!
  18. Any one have any good warm down techniques? Other than a cold thatchers gold. Been struggling with niggling injuries, I rest up in between running so I’m ready to go again but finish with another part of my body hurting for days, even after a short run like 2k. Struggled with back pain, knee pain and ankle pain recently but rarely the same leg which is confusing me.
  19. I’m with that guy! Let them both keep on at it, at least for another 4/5 seasons at the current rate....
  20. Now do you understand why it’s so hypocritical of fewers to criticise our support away from home?
  21. He got a great reception at port vale away during the double winning season!!
  22. Even Brentford (Old) is miles better than their dump It does make you laugh, especially because some of them over there believe it to be true
  23. @Robbored what’s worse, this drivel or a new chant thread? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  24. It’s so laughable. Always the victims, the football league spend each day plotting how they can prevent the fewers from succeeding.
