  1. Hope it goes well for you. There's a very useful book I read called Anti-Cancer which helped me a few years back. I didn't have a cancer but I have an autoimmune condition that was life threatening at the time. The book is all about mobilising your own immune system to fight illness (not just cancer) so was very helpful for me. Felt like I got a bit of control back which was very empowering. I thoroughly recommend it.
  2. I played on the plastic pitch at Kenilworth Road when they were still in the First Division. It was awful. Massive bounce and totally unpredictable as it had massive tears and divots in it everywhere. Terrible skin rash if you ever attempted a slide tackle. Made worse by the sand they spread on it in an effort to deaden the bounce. Once was enough.
  3. Maybe so, but I see 'failed' at 4 championship clubs. He could become a vanity project by some manager that feels he can get a tune out of him though. Undoubtedly talented, but for me it's his attitude and hunger that's at question. Taking a pay cut to play - and he will still have a comfortable life - would be a good way to answer that question for me.
  4. Palmer needs to play games to have a chance of making a career in the game. If he stays with us and doesn't play he becomes an even less attractive player for possible suitors. He may be out of the game in two or years if he doesn't make a sensible decision and move on this summer. That may mean sacrificing wages now to make sure he earns decent money for the next 7 or 8 years. It'll be best for him and the club.
  5. Maybe Pay As You Play given his injury record.
  6. Done amazingly well. Still has the hunger to win the ball back from defenders and lethal in the box, but added alot of skill and finishing from distance it seems from this compilation. https://youtu.be/GVdZR88mkwc
  7. Most of the Rangers Loyal supporters didn't even hang around to applaud their team collect their medals. ?
  8. Well done to Jake for choosing to live his life the way he wants to. Yes, it shouldn't be a big deal in 2022, but it is in the world of professional sport. Very brave and I hope it makes it easier for others to do the same. I went to Birthmarked last night at the Old Vic. The story of a young man who's decision to be himself came at huge cost to himself and his family because of the community in which he was raised. Very moving and positive. Unfortunately, the circumstances in which some people find themselves still makes these decisions unbearably difficult. Live a lie and suffer mentally with this, or be yourself and become ostracised. It is still a big deal to many. To anyone that would like to understand a little more about the dilemma some still face, I thoroughly recommend it. https://bristololdvic.org.uk/whats-on/birthmarked
  9. Glad you lad had a good day. Can we have him as mascot every week?
  10. Is your username EstoniaTallinnRed? ?
  11. Damn! I thought this was a vote to end the season now! ?
  12. Absolutely, spot @italian dave. It felt like a religious experience watching city with Basso in goal. That 'always believe' chant inspired by Basso seemed to really the team on to score countless goals at the end of games. A stark contrast to what be have the last few years.
  13. Thanks for the updated version, but I don't count WBA as a neutral result. Having a last-minute victory snatched away like that is crushing. No way can it be neutral.
  14. Because we're we heading for a draw before they scored. Didn't lost instead so we miss out on a point.
  15. Yes, I wasn't clear. I would expect this to be part of his remit but not player identification or decisions on what players to sell and when. Still feel DoF needs to own the vision of what vision we have for the club and the footballing philosophy we recruit to. Head of Recruitment - should be ever get one - will need this strategic view to follow.
  16. When Richard Gould was appointed CEO it was clear he would not be involved in player recruitment so my hope was that we would appoint someone competent pronto. The fact that we have not is extremely concerning especially if we can believe what these agents are telling you. For such a successful businessman it's astonishing that SL has not addressed this issue.
  17. Instead we have a team of Ian Sprouts (although not quite today) ?
  18. Darts and football used to be very popular in the 1970s.
  19. At about 7:52am if people want to want on catch-up. Well worth it.
  20. At about 7:52am if people want to want on catch-up. Well worth it.
  21. Dean will always have my utmost respect for the way he talks about his loss and how he manages to cope. There was a lot of Mickey taking about him being a good human (largely of MA tbf), but he really is an inspirational man in terms of being open and able to articulate his emotions. It's a shame things didn't work out, but I for one would welcome him back at the club in some capacity later in his career.
  22. I'm hoping Eunice and Dudley start. Both been pulling up trees lately.
  23. Superb. Have a cappachoochoo on me!
  24. Signed and donated. Hope it works out for him. ?
