If we've offered him a contract, I'd be inclined to think our medical dept are satisfied Kalas is fit and, given some luck (and I put his injury at Cardiff down to damn bad luck), he will remain so.
That being the case, he's our best defender. And you don't piss around offering silly contracts to your best players.
We've made him an offer we can afford but he might refuse - because it's significantly less than his last one and there might be a better one somewhere else for him.
