No need to be embarrassed whatsoever. You did what you did for a good reason.It shows strength in your character that you can still show kindness to someone that hurt you when you had absolutely no need to.I think you should be proud in all honesty. It's much easier to ignore it altogether or even get nasty about it.I would like to think I could do the same as you.
