I’m assuming you’ve seen the Coventry line up where Weimann, Massengo, Atkinson and Bentley started?
I would bet it won’t be that XI as well. To correctly predict an XI for a League cup game is almost impossible. Maybe you predict one and we see who gets the most correct!
The difference was we were in desperate need of a win.

Nigel said no at his press conference I'm afraid.
Not worth the risk is it. I'd rather wait until he's fully fit and ready to go, asking for trouble rushing him back too early.

You can see, whatever our opinion on individual players, why certain players have been allowed to move on…they are under pressure for their places from those in younger groups.
Not sure who said it, might’ve been Brian or Gary Owers but along the lines of - stop looking about whose place your after, watch the players after your place. Very true by the seems of things.
What was the name of that young lad who played up top for the 23s once last season? Yeboh or something? Think he was only 15?

Heard he’s pretty good.
I expect he could be involved with the 23s at some points this season?

Yes, unofficial records show he was 17 in May.
Just asked BT if he can update the OS. Said he will.
9 first year scholars started today!!! Future is bright!
The future is indeed bright. A first team built from a majority of academy lads in years to come would be a proud sight to see!

Tim Apsion x 3, Elijah Morrison x 2, Raph Araoye x 1, Billy Phillips x 1, Kai Churchley x 1, Filbert Owosu-Antwi x1.
Was Araoye one of the young lads with the first team in pre season? Didn't realise he was u18!

But Scott was very poor in midfield v Luton. He looks like he needs a rest to me playing with little break through summer not helped him I feel.

Whilst I didn't think he had his best game, I wouldn't go as far to say he was poor. Gave the ball away a few times, but was always looking to get the ball forward. Especially enjoyed his nut meg by the dolman in the second half.

Admittedly only watched from Robins TV tonight, but the fans came across so well through the screen.
It shows it’s a doubled edged sword, if the players put the performance in, then it will be rewarded by fans who pay their hard earned money to see the lads. Great effort all around!
I agree for the most part, considering the crowd we did make some decent noise. Slightly let down by the muppets in S82 trying to start the "you must be shit we're winning at home" chant going into the final 10 minutes. Just why?

Cauley Woodrow has played against us seven times (six League and one League Cup). He scored in two of those matches. That's a 28.6% hit rate.
Only one of those games was a win for Woodrow's team.

Fair play! My memory didn't serve me right there.

Bugger. Forgot they signed Woodrow. He always loves to score against us!

I see people saying this all the time but I don’t believe that for a second though. Everything in Londons more expensive and you find half the players that sign for city end up still living down here even after they’ve transferred to another club . Our underachievements over the years purely come down to an owner blindly running the club and us not being as ambitious as others .
Then why is it that we're the biggest club in the south west, sitting in the lower half of the championship?

A mate text me during the Brentford game & said . How the hell have they done this on a fraction of the budget we’ve had at city . We were always the so called bigger club than them but always seemed to be in the same league . Little brentford. Look what a defined idea & playing philosophy can get you.
we’ve NEVER had that under Lansdown . His managerial & boardroom appointments have been piss poor. He gets credit for Gary Johnson , apart from him every other manager he himself has appointed has been a failure(cotts, Kieth dawe)
I was thinking the same. The big difference however is location. They would always be a more attractive proposition being in London that us in the SW

The big question for me is what's missing from the team we had back in 14/15. I'm not suggesting we should be at the top of the table and winning every week, but there just seems to be something different in the squad mentality. What did we have back then that has been missing ever since? And I'm not just talking about SC, are the players just not working as a unit? Is there any real 'togetherness'?
We just seem so scared no matter who the opposition are, when Important points are on the line each and every week we just seem to buckle under pressure. The most frustrating thing of all is that it's clear we can play good football, we've done it in all three games this season. But when we take the lead that just all seems to go out the window?
Yes, the opposition will always have spells of pressure, but this doesn't mean we should be defending on the back foot for 45-60 minutes every game. It really is bizarre how we seems to have the mentally and ability to get the lead (an improvement on the season before last), but not the ability to push on and add to that lead. The standard of refereeing is poor, that's clear to see, but the biggest problem is our inability to stay on the front foot. We have players who can score, we can get the ball forward, can we PLEASE stop surrendering every week?

Glad we got the point. We really need to work out how to be more solid, otherwise we'll concede just as many as last sesson

Suspect I'm watching a different game, we're playing well, kinda switched off upfront but largely doing well.
Do people expect no attacks from teams at home??
I expect us to keep a clean sheet more than once a damn season. Joke

Just cannot defend, every bloody week it's the same shit.
