  1. Achieved nothing!? Haven’t you read Marvin’s list of 100 achievements? You’ve missed out. He’s achieved such awesome feats as inviting kids to the Council House/City Hall to play Chess and had the taxi drivers in for a cuppa.
  2. That is ridiculous. Their time is up surely.
  3. BDO seem to have well and truly naused this up.
  4. A veritable bargain to experience the delights of this beautiful new stadium!

Good work! Yup. First one earlier too for me - along the towpath, back past the Clanage, past the garden centre, park, AG and home for 10km.

Just returning to this thread! My 2019 ambition was to do 50km/month. It started with a 2km run around Greville Smyth Park with my son having not run for a good few months. Once I got back into the routine (and barring a pesky knee problem in late May/early June) I easily exceeded the target. The year ended too with a run with him around Greville Smyth again - a nice way to bookend it. Best month - 140km Longest distance - 21.1km (half marathon distance) in 02:05:12 New 10km PB @ Bristol 10km Race in May - 00:51:52 Best location - Troulos Bay to Koukanaries and back (Skiathos, Greece) Total number of runs - 149 (mainly outdoors, but probably about 10/15 in the gym when knee injury or horrific weather dictated) App used - Endomondo (free version) Overall distance ran - 1,021km Great feeling to have done what I set out to do over the course of a year as since starting running 5yrs ago that's the first time I have stuck with it for an entire 12-month. Usually it's "train for 10k and have a break. . . " Gave myself a day off yesterday but back out today later on. Also great to see new & returning runners on what is a great thread!
  13. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/darts/bdo-cut-world-championship-prize-21187458#comments-section Must be a combination of being very badly managed as well as the brand diminishing in value year on year. They’ve been the poor relations for years.
  14. That went well then. We got absolutely schooled in the 2nd half. Bring on Friday night.
  15. I fancy us to win at Sarries today. Should be a good gMe. C’mon Bris?
  16. From the sags to the stags. What a journey.

  18. CHARLES PIUTAU EXTENDS BRISTOL BEARS STAY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4TH 2019 Charles Piutau will extend his stay at Ashton Gate until 2022, Bristol Bears are delighted to reveal. One of the league’s most exciting performers, the 28-year-old agrees a new two-year deal. In just 11 Gallagher Premiership appearances in 2018/19, Piutau crossed for six tries to make him the club's joint second highest try scorer in the league. The All Black international beat 55 defenders - 10 more than the club's next highest - as well as making 960 metres. This season, Piutau tops the league’s metres made charts with 551 in just five games. He has beaten 24 defenders and made six clean breaks. “Charles is an outstanding team man and a world class talent. He has the ability to create opportunities out of nothing for the team, so we’re delighted that he’s committed to the Bears and our vision,” said Director of Rugby Pat Lam. “What has been most pleasing is how enthusiastic Charles is about the Bears, his team-mates and the city. He applied for, and was appointed to, the role of community leader in the player leadership group this season, which underlines how much he cares about the community. “On the field, Charles brings an invaluable attacking threat, but also a calm head and a wealth of experience. His game understanding and leadership at the back brings a lot of comfort to his team mates and it has allowed a lot of the young players around him to flourish. “To be able to select a Bristol backline next season that will combine world class talent such as Charles Piutau, Semi Radradra and Luke Morahan alongside a host of young, English talent shows the exciting direction and growth that we are showing as a team.” With 17 caps for the All Blacks, Piutau was one of four Bears players to represent the Barbarians in May. He added: “My family and I are loving our time in Bristol and it was an easy decision to stay. There’s a brilliant environment and a group of boys who are all giving everything for the jersey and the community. “It’s always an honour to play alongside my brother [Siale Piutau] and to represent the Bears in front of the awesome fans at Ashton Gate. Pat Lam has been a massive influence on my career and I’m loving my rugby here. “There’s a collective belief that we can win silverware if we continue to keep moving forward and I’m excited about the future at Bristol.”
  19. I agree but he’s not even playing for the A team I think. Surely it sould pay to keep him match ready should the need arise.
  20. Strong XV. Mads must be starting to feel like this guy
  21. Everything you read about Pat and the culture he has instilled here is just great. Having listened to him first hand at several events in the last couple of years you can see how much of an inspiration he is.
  22. Radradra confirmed! https://www.bristolbearsrugby.com/news/world-class-radradra-pens-bears-deal/ WORLD CLASS RADRADRA PENS BEARS DEAL Bristol Bears are delighted to announce that one of the finest players on the planet, Semi Radradra, will join the club ahead of the 2020/21 campaign. A standout individual across both rugby codes, the Fijian international arrives at Ashton Gate on a three-year deal. 27 year-old Radradra averaged 100m a game at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, lighting up the competition pool stages with a string of sensational displays, including a brace against Georgia. During his time in the Australian NRL (National Rugby League), Radradra was named Dally M winger of the year for two seasons in a row, scoring 82 tries in 94 games for Parramatta Eels. “There is no doubt that Semi is one of the best players in the world – he’s truly a world class performer and we are so excited about what he can do for the team,” said Director of Rugby Pat Lam. “Every top club across both codes on the planet wanted him, so for Bristol to be able to bring in a player of his quality underlines the fantastic work that the club is doing. Semi has clarity about our vision and knows what the club want to achieve. As a person and a player, he is perfect for our culture which places an emphasis on community and high performance. “I got to know Semi well at the Barbarians and we were blown away by his professionalism and dedication. He is world class because of the relentless work and preparation he puts into his game, day in day out. It’s no surprise that he has taken the World Cup and French Top 14 by storm – Semi is the ultimate professional. “We believe the Gallagher Premiership is the best league in the world and Semi’s arrival into the league will only enhance the product further. He’s an unstoppable force and we are looking forward to seeing him light up the competition for the next three seasons.” Radradra has enjoyed a stellar club career so far, representing Toulon and Bordeaux in the French Top 14, following his switch from the NRL in 2016. He added: “I’m looking forward to coming to the Premiership and to be playing under Pat Lam at Bristol Bears. They are one of the most exciting teams in Europe right now and the way that they are doing things is making everybody take notice. “I visited the world class facilities at Ashton Gate and saw the progress of the new training ground – it’s a fantastic club to be joining with a bright future ahead. I can’t wait to get started and contributing to the Bristol Bears vision.”
  23. It's a right old tear jerker, no mistake.
  24. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/50461381 I wonder how this could impact the make up of the national squad and if it opens the door for any of our boys
