  1. Fits what the bosses want for our club; a head coach who coaches. He's only 38, and look at his CV and what he has done already. Only question mark is the end of the MK Dons stint, but sounds like there were reasons for that, and every manager has periods like that, otherwise they would never get sacked! He's then moved on to Oxford in March, and 8 months later they're in 2nd place. He's someone whose stock is rising, so lets get on that like other championship clubs do. I think he will do well. COYR
  2. "the club will be appointing someone the fans will find quite literally... middling" Why would they ever say it wasn't an exciting appointment
  3. Watch him at the full time whistle. If he claps towards the fans even once then he is 100% leaving and coming to Ashton Gate.
  4. I would really love it to be someone I haven't really heard of, up and coming in a European league. But that just seems like the least-lansdown appointment I can think of. Only way I can see it is as a "well we've tried w, x, and y, so now let's try z?!"
  5. I wish we would have more concrete info leak if it's due soon. I need time to mentally prep myself for how disappointing it will be.
  6. I don't think Lansdown will ever appoint a manager from abroad, sadly. I just can't see it happening.
  7. Jesus Christ do people really pay a subscription fee for that shite?
  8. Who the hell is Jon Lansdown to criticise the amount of time off the coaching & medical staff are giving to players. What qualifications does he have in that regard? Oh yes, none. I bet Pearson would be raging if he watched that (I hope he doesn't waste his time doing so). Was a bit weird for him to say he was surprised by the lists of managers circulated online. It was essentially a list of who's available? So why would you be surprised by it?
  9. The answer is simply that Jon Lansdown doesn't actually understand how football works.
  10. If they are targeting Manning, presumably there won't be any movement until Sunday at the earliest? And even then, they're playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday this coming week! Tricky one
  11. Would be fine with him honestly. Could do a lot worse. Up and coming in the right direction rather than on the way back down. Same kind of strategy as we are doing for players in a way. (How many players have we had from there too btw?!)
  12. Hadn't really clocked how much I'm going to miss Fleming until now. Damn. What a great guy
  13. RIP the Frank Lampard Bristol City era, will go down as one of the greats. I love this forum so much when we are searching for a manager. It's 99% shite but so fun
  14. Yep sounds like a perfect fit. City DNA etc
  15. I think he is 100% NOT what we need, and a massive risk. But I have to admit, it could possibly be more fun/interesting than a lot of the other names floated around. Lansdowns do love a name (thinking back to the David James era ) and desperate to get noticed, so its definitely something they would consider. Wasn't his name floated around a bit before Pearson appointed as well?
  16. Hmm interesting one... This is from his wikipedia page (and I assume that is about the level of research the Lansdowns are doing as well) so I reckon it's a done deal
  17. I wonder who the next manager "to be appointed" will be today?! I am sure the rumour must have come from somewhere though, totally guessing but probably means interest from both sides regarding Eustace, but nothing actually agreed formally.
  18. Tuned in for most of it earlier; thought you all did a great job
  19. To be fair we do have an injury crisis. Bring yer boots Frank!
  20. Jay Dasilva going to have the most incredible game of his career today, guaranteed
  21. Intrigued to see how this team does. Gardner Hickman in midfield is what it probably rests on. I quite like the sound of that front 3 though
