  1. Our club is a joke. Constantly like to talk about being "PL ready off the field" when in fact we're an absolute farce. In theory maybe it's good that Lansdown got rid of someone who wasn't doing a good enough job, but he was at Palace for ages so that seems unlikely. More likely another falling out. Dave Fevs in ?
  2. Think only change if make would be Naismith into midfield in place of Williams, then Dickie at CB. But can see why you'd pick Williams instead, him and Naismith are quite different players really. Interested to see how they play. Also interesting as we have TGH and Naismith both in defence, both of which are also comfortable in midfield.
  3. I think I'd be more worried if he wasn't annoyed about it
  4. I wonder what sort of pay rise he got? Bet he's chuffed tbf
  5. Statement here https://www.bcfc.co.uk/city-men-news/alex-scott-joins-afc-bournemouth/ City owner Steve Lansdown CBE said: “Alex has developed into a top-class footballer and we have been privileged to watch him play over the past few years and wear the Bristol City shirt. “We are sorry to see Alex go but Bournemouth have met our valuation and this is an opportunity for him to follow his football dream in the Premier League. He goes with our blessing and will always have a special place in the hearts of Bristol City fans.”
  6. Football moves so fast doesn't it? Really doesn't feel that long ago that he was a name to keep an eye on in youth team games, and then suddenly he's the best player in the team, and then gone for club record fee. So fleeting. I hope he does amazing in the prem. Can't wait to actually see how he steps up.
  7. Have slept on it now, and I think my overriding feeling is just that I hope he absolutely ******* smashes it at Bournemouth and continues his trajectory up the league. (Hopefully giving us a nice chunk of change along the way). The more clubs he goes through the more likely it is we get some money from it. So maybe in our best interest to start at the lowest club and work his way up. Yeah it is gutting it's Bournemouth, as it's not a "big club" in the traditional sense, but at the end of the day £20-25m is £20-25m. In terms of if we will go out and spend, I think the most likely theory is that the money is used to basically cover the losses we have already incurred over the last few years isn't it? It's not a case of it being spent or not being spent. It all goes into the accounts in one way or another! Some people seem to think transfer fees are our only outgoings sometimes!

Really shit that TC is out, but we really do still have quite a few decent front 3 combinations we can put together. Wells, Bell and Cornick can cover CF between them, with Mehmeti and Sykes to cover the wings too. Got Weimann as well. I don't think we'll get anyone else in to cover the spot as some others seem to.
  9. Looks like he'll at least start the season with us, but I still think he'll end up leaving this summer. When those domino effects start happening from premier league transfers, eventually a team will be left needing a centre mid to replace. Obviously we're quite low down the chain, so will probably be nearer the end of the transfer window. Of course could argue that Scott is good enough to "jump the queue" in terms of the normal pecking order, but doesn't seem to have really materialised yet other than Bournemouth and Wolves, who seemingly don't want to spend £25m.
  10. Really hope he doesn't go to Bournemouth, for any fee. So uninspiring!
  11. Surely should be some rumours/whispers on this coming soon. PL has finished, and I think he's back from the U20 WC now? I don't really mind where he goes as long as he gets to actually play.
  12. Joe Bryan and Cam Pring rotating in and out at LB would be awesome. (I hope). Need quality depth in this league. So many games and so fixture-dense. At first I thought JB might be a bit unnecessary as we have other areas to strengthen first, but this league is just brutal for fixtures and injuries.
  13. Was surprised how positive they were even after 3-0, makes a change!
  14. Thought it was hilarious! There's something so satisfying about premier League teams getting rattled away to clubs further down the pyramid
  15. Loved Nige's interview for ITV Not surprised everyone thinks Scott is amazing Nice to have a player that other clubs covet He will cost you loads of money. ?
  16. I love Nige. So glad he's really invested in us as a club and region. Lovely stuff. Interesting that one of the highest-profile managers we've had is getting totally invested in things, not just here "for a job" as some other lower profile managers have been.
  17. Good business. Remember as well he's only 26; relatively young for a GK in the grand scheme of things.
  18. I would obviously love to get to the playoffs but I think top 12 would be a pretty amazing finish to aim for. Top 10 would really show we mean business for next season.
  19. I get the feeling Pearson has a lot of pulling power for transfers. I know we have a nice stadium and training ground etc, but I'm sure ambitious players would far rather play for Pearson than some of the other "characters" we've had in the last decade.
  20. Has anywhere got extended highlights where I can watch The Alex Scott Show?
  21. On current wages, no. On reduced wages in line with being a rotation option; yes.
  22. On another note, how nice is it to have two players going out in a week, both with replacements in the pipeline or already done. Feels very different to previously!
  23. Other clubs aren't stupid; they know we need to sell. Transfers are based on players value but only to a certain extent. It depends who's buying and who's selling and what their circumstances are.
