  1. Some of these kids are making a living through their videos or are on the way to doing so. Although it’s alien to us when you consider that it’s harder to knock it, not a bad little life to carve out for yourself is it
  2. One of my favourite post match LJ sound bites
  3. Believe it or not, it is the first day of filming today for a new season of Sunderland Till I Die
  4. It’s great to see the amount of youth that has taken to following us home and away. It was not uncommon to be amongst a sea of grey and bald whilst watching city not too long ago, the club have done well in that regard.
  5. There are many things that have derailed our hard fought momentum in the past and stopped us from achieving just as when it looked we might, one of those is the sale of key assets. I hope we can see out this last week of the window with battened down hatches. The squad genuinely feels poised to kick on, but at the same time so finely balanced. Losing a Scott, Semenyo or Weimann could be the difference between a successful season and a mediocre one.
  6. Let’s face it we’re a top tier away day, one of the best around
  7. It’s on at Adams park stadium, High Wycombe. Nowhere else besides radio tonight.
  8. It’s the best academy outside the premier league, no?
  9. I love being in A block when big games roll around, Cardiff is just carnage every time. Personal highlight today was a group of young lads (no older than 14) just casually swigging cans of gold they’d snuck in whilst giving it some on the railings. The only thing missing from A block today was a certain red hatted gentleman who was always right in the mix during Severnside fixtures!
  10. I’ve enjoyed the severnside games post pandemic. Feels like the intensity has gone up a notch in the rivalry for whatever reason. Was beginning to feel like just another game not long ago. Their offside goal was hilarious from A block.
  11. Are we looking at a slightly disappointing crowd on our end? Haven’t seen the usual braggadocios tone from club social media
  12. Why us though? There are smaller teams in the league who referees would feel less pressured to award penalties to, why are Bristol City the outlier that they are?
  13. Harsher to leave Dasilva without a mention after yesterday
  14. He actually seems to be improving season on season. He looks more complete (better passer, receiver and distributor of the ball) than he did even last campaign. Confidence is at an all time high.

    Pearson

What I saw last night was what I expected a Nigel Pearson performance to be when he arrived. A team completely working for each other. We’ve discussed the eye catching stuff but it’s the little things; Dasilva blocking the keeper off instead of sulking with his hands on his head after Conway didn’t square it, Bentley instantly organising the defence after making an excellent save in stoppage time at 2-0, Naismith barking at anyone who wasn’t pulling their weight, players putting everything into winning throw ins or little free kicks… we were really up for it. The asterisk is that Luton may be a doomed side this season. Repeat that performance on Sunday, in doing so achieving back to back wins in the first month of the season rather than the last, and it’s the clearest sign yet that we’re turning a corner.
  16. It was the most cordial mingling of supporters I can remember for quite some time. Both fans showed respect and both both gave it back. Int it a positive and pleasant place to be when footballs like that.
  17. A little trepidation. The wrong owner, Saudi Arabia style, could certainly be enough to kill my love for this club. But it’s clear that a change at the top is needed to move forward.
  18. I think says how far officiating has fallen when Stroud is actually not a bad referee to have anymore
  19. Well I thought the atmosphere was okay yesterday ? and was told the same by numerous Sunderland
  20. Took along a few who are new to this team today, each one of them diagnosed the midfield as the problem.
  21. I think this is the most buzzing I’ve been for a City game post-Covid?
  22. I don’t know how I feel about this. On the one hand it’s taking early measures to protect the game, stopping the wildfire of hooliganism that we’ve seen spread so quickly in the past, but on the other some mistakes that could lead to a criminal record are minor in comparison to what you’d need to do to be given one outside of a football stadium. I’d be interested to hear alternative suggestions
  23. I don’t think it would go toxic but certainly could kill the excitement. Its exactly what we’ll be setting up to avoid. Toxicity won’t take long to arrive if we continue to concede late goals however.
