  1. Have you written wilder off that much that it’s making you snore? I honestly don’t see it being as easy for fury this time. Wilder hasn’t got a lot of technical skill but he’s got balls and an ego the size of Jupiter. I don’t believe he’ll let himself be dominated to the same extent this time. His career has tended to go through phases of reality checks as a result of which he always comes out better. Plus there’s that freakish power, you can’t write him off. Ever. Besides from all of that, haven’t people learnt heavyweight boxing is a crazy ******* thing by now? Wouldn’t be surprised to see Fury knocked out cold.
  2. Weston hospital has closed in after a surge in coronavirus cases
  3. I really hope you are right, however I fear that is just another gross underestimation when it comes to what this virus is capable of. The only proper way out I see at this stage is a vaccine.
  4. I wouldn’t be surprised to see almost half our football league gone. People have underestimated what this virus can do from the start, economic ramifications may do more harm than the disease itself. Anyone who can afford to buy their food from independent shops, or the odd takeaway Sunday lunch from a local pub, please do so. None of the landlords where I live at the moment think they will survive the year unless the government reaches the conclusion that we have to re-open in the favour of, as horrible as it sounds, damage control.
  5. Autumn 21 is being banded about by a lot of health experts at the moment. That includes big gigs, sporting fixtures, festivals etc. The reality of that has only just hit me and it’s such a hard one to take. Not just from a footballing point of view, boxing felt like it was coming to an era defining year and now it may not recover for a very long time. Sport all across the board will be hit by this, some may never come back professionally again.
  6. I hope it gets cancelled, from a selfish bristol city point of view I wouldn’t even want us to win the play offs with no fans there, no celebration in Bristol etc. Would ruin that moment forever Having said that, and sorry to sound so negative, but the introduction of fans back into large spectator sports is more likely to be in over a years time than in August for the new season.
  7. I don’t think society will ever be the same again, but that isn’t necessarily a negative. There had to be a shift in the mindset, a reality check. Self efficiency, community and adequate health care seem more important now than they ever have and that’s because they are the back bone of ANY society. The trouble is, we’ve been completely de-moralised and chipped away at as a population, led to believe and fight for things that are so minuscule in meaning that we’ve forgotten what really matters. Maybe this will remind us, it’s probably our last chance.
  8. Statement from local music venue and pub Louisiana. Are you calling them liars?
  9. I don’t think anyone expects this to even go on for two years (from now) (probably because it will come to a peak in a far shorter period than that)
  10. I agree fully with the last sentence however it is worth noting that Italy has the oldest population in Europe and the second oldest in the world. That mortality rate doesn’t represent the wider number
  11. Would anyone actually want to see city go up on the tele in an empty Wembley?
  12. An older patient with prior health problems. Very sad, but there will be more I think the UK has done the right things so far, you can’t call this a failure on the NHS part if even if the worst case scenario of 80% of the population catching the virus happens. Very very difficult to contain and how far it spreads will now come down to the peoples actions rather than the governments.
  13. Noticed a lot of other forums have banned virus talk until fixtures etc are confirmed to be cancelled to stop hysteria and scaremongering. Liverpool being one. Might be an idea to do so here and leave your post pinned? Just a thought
  14. I don’t think the extinction of the human race is really a question anyone’s asking, more how severely this will effect global economy and for how long it will effect day to day living
  15. No, COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by Coronavirus, is indeed more deadly than flu, however this illness is overwhelmingly more likely to effect those with pre existing conditions or those who are elderly. You know full well a statement like that is misleading.
  16. Sadly think that’s a given. Even if it’s under control by then Euros would be the cause of so many mass gatherings across the continent not just at stadiums. Just remains to be seen how much freedom we’ll have when it really takes hold here regarding daily routine, work etc, small businesses must be really shitting it
  17. We seem to be in for a summer lockdown. Potentially a very surreal few months- a year approaching
  18. Almost certain it will spread here, and judging by other countries reactions yes season may well be cancelled, more likely postponed
  19. Almost certainly unfortunately. I’m sure they’ll have some sort of protocol ready already on how to pick it back up. We’ll see Began to spread through Europe
  20. Buzzing. Followed fury his whole career and will celebrate into Sunday. Never doubting him again, got it spot on. Nothing wrong with the stoppage if anything it was too late
  21. I think Wilder has this and a lot sooner than people think
  22. Good summary mate, hard to disagree. Either way I’m glad to see it happening, Frank gets his fair share of stick but you’ve got to say fair play for putting this one on, the point of a stable after all is to put the best you’ve got against each other. Can’t wait
  23. Surprised to see you calling it this way. I reckon I’d give the edge to Dubois but it’s not an easy fight, Joyce has faced some pretty solid opposition in his short professional career compared to Dubois and has been in with world class talent before that. The one win DD has, Gorman, fought terribly when the spotlight was on and I think Jennings would beat him. If Dubois can stick to a game plan and hammer Joyce to the body I think he’ll win but I would not at all be surprised to see Joe’s edge in experience be telling if Dubois goes in reckless. 60/40 for me
  24. Hope no one stayed up for that like me, oh dear
