Would say finishing the season 12th/14th would be very welcome, even unexpected after recent appalling performances - with the stupidity of obviously unfit players in the side/squad thrown into the mix adds a rather dark aspect - I'm pointed in the direction to feel something is very,very wrong! Fingers in Manning's head coach pie (if you'll pardon the expression) cannot be ruled out,and if correct will be playing havoc with him mentally & privately he will be hearing alarm bells..a situation the more aware of the playing staff may well have picked up on. My gut tells me all in all they ain't a happy bunch at the moment & it shows. Right now I'll be happy to stay up.

This - Not feeling the love & can't fail to remember the lies woven into the whole situation. I'm set to retire before the start of next season, and the the plan was to treat myself to a season ticket. I feel I'm now in a wait out situation with the whole thing & Intend to keep the powder dry. As things stand I'm not up for that commitment & will stay in control with five or six at home & same away.

Absolutely agree about needing another option/something different up front for the 'QPR' type games. It's something we've needed for a very long while now imo.

In fairness Dave, Pearson was having to do a hell of a lot of heavy lifting on top of the 'usual' job. In some ways because of this it's difficult to draw comparison.

I feel whomever he brings in player-wise the considerable gaps in tactical awareness/knowledge will remain - with very similar pattern re: results on the pitch. The likelihood,as always,somewhere in between - not top six not bottom six - lower mid table. Recruitment will be hugely important & I'm lacking confidence in those responsible. Get it wrong and Captain Manning will carry that heavy can & could well be gone before Christmas - not a situation to bring seasonal joy to any of us, not even the OP!
