    Hi Stortz,

I understand your question and its underlying point, but I assure you that there was no racist intent in my description of these particular ladies of the night.

I suppose you would have had to have been there to understand the situation and, to understand my wife’s ultimate amusement - loud, mocking laughter (at me) if truth be known.

As I mentioned, we left the restaurant at what was probably about 22H00, and I lingered behind my wife and young daughters to smoke a cigarette.

Suddenly, about half a dozen black and buxum young ladies - I say this because they were black and buxom, and also wearing extremely short skirts and very décolleté tops approached me and tried to drag me off for some (presumably) sordid encounter.

From their accents, I could tell that they were West Africans and, in French and in no uncertain terms, I told them that I was just not interested.

My wife and, unfortunately, my daughters heard the commotion and turned around to see what was going on.

As I mentioned, my wife (who also speaks fluent French) heard the conversation and found my protestations most amusing.

I doubt that, were a single white prostitute to have asked me, surreptitiously, whether I was ‘looking for it’, this would have had the same effect.

No offence taken, but hopefully this answers your question.

Hi Phil, I appreciate your reply.

When people seek to embellish descriptions of incidents or individuals by drawing attention to the colour of the skin of those involved, it's very rarely to draw a positive connotation, is it.

Would you have described white prostitutes primarily by the colour of their skin?

It seemed that you were especially horrified in your initial post due to the race of those involved? Incidentally, you must be quite the catch to elicit such a response amongst these black prostitutes, despite your family being nearby.

No further axe to grind, but language is important imo.

    Have a good night.

Would you believe it, much to my wife’s initial disgust and then amusement at my embarrassment, I was importuned by several black prostitutes!

Could I ask why you needed to raise the colour of the skin of these people?

It's really not a good look.

    In before 'describing them'.

Sitges was a really pleasant surprise for us, we've said we'd stay there again and do more day trips to Barcelona. Very easy to get to and from and the train journey goes right along the cliff edge, has stunning views all the way along the route.

If you like a great costal walk, get the train from Sitges up a stop to Vilanova y Geltru, then walk back along the beach. Really beautiful.

    (ot, what about 300 😮)

Edit, not sure how I've quoted like that haha

Thinking of taking a short trip in May. Any must sees, places to visit or recommendations ?
Is the beach area or Town better to stay ?

Any ideas would be appreciated .

My mates lived in Poble Sec between Las Ramblas and Montjuic for years. It's a fantastic city away from the most touristy parts, which while stunning, get unbearably hectic.

Can Paixano aka La Xampanyeria for insanely resonably priced and delicious cava- but you must buy tapas while swilling it. It's a unique experience, but always busy unless you get there before 11am (you're on your holidays)!

Bubo in the Born district sells the most incredible chocolate cake in the world:

Climb the Turo de la Rovira hill to the north of the city for amazing views, breathtaking stuff. Sagrada Familia looks particularly spectacular from here. If you can get there for sunset, even better:

Where city beaches are concerned, the further north you go from Barcelonetta, the better the quality (and less scam artists!), but as @KegCity and @Red-Robbo say, you're better off getting out of Barcelona altogether on the reliable and cheap public transport options for really decent beaches. Sitges is lovely.

Steer clear of Las Ramblas altogether, it's hideous.

    Have a blast!

  5. Fair play Garcia, great display to beat Haney, the disgraceful ref and the corrupt piece of shite judge who scored that a draw- and it was a treat to see Bill's face after the bout.

Ryan's really unhinged enough to pretend he was joking all along haha. I hope someone looks out for that kid now.

  6. How on Earth is this fight still going ahead?

Garcia is an objectionable, deluded little t w @t, but he clearly needs help, not dips in De La Hoya's bag.

Bill Haney is one of the biggest arseholes in boxing, he's a disgrace. Absolute shit of a man.

Cancel the whole sorry affair please, it's embarrassing.

Another belting fight! Is that gunna be 10am on a Monday morning? Assume it's in Japan?

Yeah, at the Tokoyo Dome- where Buster Douglas knocked out Tyson- with a 55k crowd.

    Happliy a) it's on Sky and b) it's a bank holiday!

I find not giving a shit about the colour of a tiny flag on the back of a football shirt helps immensely.

My son's away kit arrived today, and the detail in question is actually inside the back collar- you can't even see it when it's being worn.

I'm not sure anything could be more emblematic of the entire sorry furore than that tbh.

Mate...you are fully triggered. How many posts on the subject. **** me...did someone shit on your falafel this morning. Kinnel...reminds me of a screaming unicorn...🦄 It's all the Tories fault..it's the media...the culture wars. **** off you absolute melt.

There's only one person on this thread coming across as even slightly 'triggered' at the moment I'm afraid.

    p.s, falafels are lovely.

Perhaps the England flag means nothing to you.

But yes really. It's our national shirt and represents us. It's our flag.

With your mentality it gives the go ahead to interfere with flags of other nations as well. Before you know it, all flags will be changed in colours.

It's red white and blue FFS.🤷🙈

And you describe everything that's wrong with this country, by bringing politics into it and mentioning culture wars.

All people should be proud of the flag and it's colours. Regardless of politics and culture.

Sadly anything like this is now seen as right wing and Tory driven.

    A ridiculous situation.

Your statement is clearly made to provoke.

Funnily it's Starmer asking Nike to re think. So you look a clown right now by saying it's Tory driven.

Are you saying the left aren't proud of their flag?

Starmer embarrassing himself by even responding to it doesn't mean it isn't driven by the usual suspects.

Certain sections of the media have been desperate for a way to tear Southgate and the side down since the Dear England letter, and they've finally found something.

There are plenty of things that evidence our standards dropping but a flag on the back of a shirt, really?!

You can't see a doctor for weeks, the rivers are full of shit, schools are falling down, roads are falling apart, but the Sun and the Mail would like you to focus all of your anger on a detail on a football shirt please.

Was very nice work from Joshua, quite surreal seeing Ngannou on the other end of a devastating KO after seeing him flatline so many people.

Yeah, I'm glad he recovered so quickly, it was a heavy, heavy ko.

Davison clearly identified Ngannou's lack of defence on that side. They were practicing that exact shot just prior to walking

How can the likes of Fury and AJ get up for fighting in Saudi after fighting in packed out stadiums with loads of atmosphere.

The extra zero on the paycheck I'm guessing.
