As do I, as an MMA fan his comments towards Fury at the press conference were so satisfying, he also fully deserves his payday coming from such humble beginnings.

Joshua should cruise through, I do think if he gets dropped the momentum will shift and could then see Ngannou ending things.

    Absolutely ice cold mate haha

    Duncan Fearnley

    https://www.fearnleycricket.co.uk/products/duncan-fearnley-announcement/?ftUrlPreviewMode=true

Renowned Worcester cricketer and businessman Duncan Fearnley passes away aged 83.

Worcester cricket company, Duncan Fearnley Cricket Sales (DFCS) Ltd has today announced the sad passing of its founder and namesake, Duncan Fearnley, aged 83, following a brief illness.

A renowned local cricketer, Fearnley played for Worcester CC for 7 years, making 97 appearances. He was named Chair of the club in 1986, and held the prestigious title of Club President and Honorary Vice-President thereafter.

In the 1980s Fearnley became globally recognised for cricket bat craftsmanship under DFCS. His high quality, British willow bats were revered by many cricket superstars of the time, including Ian Botham.

Managing director of DFCS, Gary Dixon says: "Hearing the news of Duncan's death this afternoon was a real shock to all of us." "He was a true legend in the cricket manufacturing world and built the Duncan Fearnley brand into the leading force it was and is today" "We are proud to keep the name of Duncan Fearnley at the fore, so he can continue to be remembered within the cricket world as an innovator and a true craftsman in bat making. Out thoughts are with the Fearnley family."

Duncan leaves behind his wife Mary, Son Paul, Daughter Louise and Grandson Charlie.

Today, DFCS continues to produce quality cricket equipment and clothing in the UK for global markets, Owned and operated by the Dixon family since early 2000's, Duncan's son Paul, remains integral to the business's success, acting as brand manager.

    My partner's uncle!

Duncan was a great bloke with a thousand tales, I was lucky enough to spend some time with him holding court in the bar behind his house in Worcester- normally with him trying to get everyone bladdered on overproof rum!

He loved a drink and he really, really loved Worcestershire CCC and cricket in general. He wasn't quite good enough to be a pro, but found another way to change the sport. He'll live on through his son Paul keeping his name on fantastic bats.

    Rip Duncan!

Fascinated to see what happens if Ngannou starts landing.

No matter what happens in the ring tonight, there's no doubt who the winner already is.

I f******g love Ngannou, he's an absolute hero, but I think we'll see a Ruiz 2 style points domination from Joshua- I just can't see him taking the sort of risk that would allow Francis to land on him.

I would hope that the owners will do his family right.

This is the thing isn't it. I've donated, and it's great to see so many ex and current players, staff, and the fans contributing.

It'd be even better to see those far more able to contribute than most take the financial element of the worry out of Scotty's hands as recognition for all he's done for the club over the years imo.

Just to pass on some very sad news to those on the boxing thread , some will know already but for those who don’t @B1ackbird has sadly passed away after an illness recently. Very sad and obviously thoughts are with his partner, family and friends.

He loved his Bristol city but also very much his boxing. Had many a night at muckers house watching boxing, few to many beers and poker. Will be sadly missed.

Hi @Spoons, thanks for passing on this sad news. Sorry for your loss.

I only knew @B1ackbird through this thread and it was clear he had health issues, but they never seemed to get him down and he was always the optimist. It was like checking in with an old mate chatting boxing with him on here.

RIP @B1ackbird, I'll miss sharing the moans when the big fights fell through, disbelief at some of the shocking decisions- but most of all the laughs over the years.

Light to his family and friends.

    ‘Muppet’ is incredibly harsh.

Has he achieved all he should have with the squad we have? Of course not, but then neither has any England manager since Ramsey. In reality, a Euros final, World Cup semi final and Quarter final (with a loss to France hardly a major disappointment) and a 3rd place finish in the Nations League is about as good as we’ve had for many years.

Is he the best option out there? No. Is the national team in a better place than it has been at any point this century? Yes. Is he a ‘muppet’ who we should get rid of as soon as possible? Of course not

Muppet is indeed harsh, but I think it's reasonable to speculate about what a less conservative manager could do with the talent Southgate's had available.

Can't argue with the way he and the team have represented themselves though.

    I hate it.

Can we just get rid of it now?

Given the three ego's propensity for the self destruction of the chances of this club ever fulfilling it's potential under their watch, it grates with me massively.

What on earth prompted this at 2100 on a Sunday?!

    We won mate, chill.

The rules are very wide ranging and include "unsporting conduct" which is up to the discretion of the ref. I think the ref's particular issue was with him turning away from his opponent which I guess could be deemed dangerous for him too as "not protecting himself at all times".

Like you, I don't mind the showboating tho.

They're also different per sanctioning body, to muddy the waters further.

I could completely understand the issue the ref had with Whittaker turning his back, but many of the other calls he made seemed to be more based on him personally objecting to the showboating.

Whittaker wasn't fouling or seeking to gain an advantage other than through his own skill and got talked to 5 or 6 times- yet refs are happy to watch fighters lie all over each other and hold with barely a comment.

Whittaker is already one of those fighter as many people will watch hoping he comes a cropper than showcases his skills- and that's a profitable place for him to be, so I don't reckon he'll care which!

All well and good against a 10-13 opponent eh haha.

I don't hate the showboating, but someone with a pulse would be a step up.

No idea why the ref was telling Whittaker off about it though- he's there to enforce the rules, not his personal opinion on pisstaking.

Thank you for your good wishes, I'm sorry if I came on a bit strong in my post but that's just how I felt at the time, of course, I gave them back as good as I got.

I can confirm after many years of JJT's interjections on the boxing thread that although he might be blunt, he's definitely a ****, so fair play.

Love you really @joe jordans teeth x

You Know nothing about me at all, well let me say one thing, I am pretty sure I have seen more City games than you having been a season ticket holder since 1983, I was not at the ground tonight because my wife has had a stroke and needs me to be at her side, I rarely go out and leave her but she insisted I go out to meet some friends to watch the game, the fact some people were there (Gas) wanting us to lose is irrelevant, and two teams in the same division should have meant we should have been at least competitive, were we? I was embarrassed and I'm not afraid to say it.

Sending good wishes to your wife and you mate.

As a City fan, the day you need to worry about being embarrassed by any sort of comparison from those ***** chirping on is a very distant one from here.

    All the best.

Haha, was that filmed with a potato?!

I honestly said to my partner last night that there's no way that this fight can be happening in 2 weeks given the absolute lack of any promo- then the day the Saudi w @nk fest promo drops, Tyson's suddenly injured.

Let's see how quickly it's rearranged- a cut like that is 6 weeks tops.

Me and the boy unable to attend tonight. He is currently in hospital after a big operation. He did make me laugh though, when he came round he was chatting nonsense as expected, and he blurted out the gas lost dad.

    Come on City

All the best to your lad and to you mate- I've been there and know how stressful it is.

Let's hope we can get a result for him tonight.

Frustrating the club moved this to a Friday night, cannot keep travelling 6 hour round trip for evening games! Also means my kids miss out when they want to go, wonder what the rationale was? Hopefully it’s accessible online.

It has never been scheduled for any time other than the Friday night?

    It hasn't been moved.

  17. My partner went to a class not far from the their shithole just before kick off and had to walk amongst them. She was struck how many of them were planning their trips to Anfield and claiming they were going to give Liverpool a good game.

    Hahaha, never change Rovers.
