Great day out, we gave it a good go on the pitch and represented the club loud and proud off of it.
Relentless good humor despite the train piss about too. Good work everyone!

Not sure about that. Hrgovic was bloody awful (and lost) against Zhang last time I saw him.
Guess for AJ/Hearn the difference in payday must be night and day. Sad, but kinda inevitable given the direction of the sport.
I still blame Fury the most for starting the trend by ducking Usyk and AJ and fighting bums
I totally agree that he was awful v Zhang- he stank the place out. I don't rate him at all. However, he's fighting for a world title next while AJ will be in an (admittedly incredibly lucrative!) glorified exhibition fight.

Disappointed it's happening but not sure AJ had too many other realstic places to go with Fury playing silly buggers and Wilder off the back of a bad defeat?
Also, at least Ngannou has some credibility after the Fury fight.
But yeah, in an ideal world I'd still rather it wasn't happening.
It's totally pointless beyond sportwashing for the Saudis and AJ and Eddie's bank balances.
Hrgovic for the IBF title after Fury or Usyk is stripped in February would be far more credible (and set up a fight with the Fury/ Usyk winner down the line), but the ones spaffing the money have no real interest in or respect for the sport. They'd far rather these eye catching freakshows.
This will be terrible to watch too, they'll clinch all night. You're right, Ngannou has a modicum of boxing ability- but if this fight was in my back garden, I wouldn't be arsed enough to open the curtains.
7 hours ago, KegCity said:I can see why he’s done it. If he takes Ngannou seriously he should be able to outbox him, making him look better than Fury who got sat down by Francis.
I think if Ngannou lands that big punch as he did to Fury, Joshua doesn’t get back up.
I like Ngannou, his story is incredible- but I only want to watch boxers fighting boxers, I have zero interest in this crossover shit.
It's no better than influencer boxing imo, the Saudis are just as desperate for the attention as those wankbags.

Ha its nuanced isn't it, Stortz.
HPC is good, ground development is good- SL pays the bills.
However the hierarchy appear to make or have made consistently at best infuriating, at worst brainless decisions in the past 20 years or so. Bad outweighs the good in this respect- GJ, Cotts, NP good..
..Manning I wish well but I fear for him and us in this structure.
Jon Lansdown and Tinnion, Marshall and Rawcliffe seems a crap structure. Then SL for all the cash he has put in, usually has FFP permitting, stuck and twisted at the wrong times with the wrong managers.
Of course, but I'm not sure how nuanced Barton's sycophantic contribtions have been over the years mate.
He seems the epotime of the 'if your face fits, never mind the ability' Lansdown culture to me. File under Lisa Knights.

A slight sceptic in me is that it is a reward for playing ball, asking exactly what the hierarchy wanted to be asked in interviews, not possessing too major a public profile and subsequently getting a nice sideways in terms of position but cushier in terms of public profile job.
So, Mr Popodopolous, do you agree that the HPC is incredible? Do you think, as we all do I'm sure, that Steve is a great guy, and appreciate all that the Lansdown family have done for us?
Perhaps you believe, as we all do, that the HPC is an incredible facility?
Would you like to comment on that, the ambition of the club, and our hopes to get into the Premier League?
The HPC too eh!

I am pleased to announce that I have been appointed to a new role as Head of Communications for the Bristol Sport Group.
After five years as Head of Communications for Bristol City Football Club, I am moving to a wider role within the Sporting Group, which includes City Men and Women’s football teams, Bristol Bears Men and Women’s rugby teams, Bristol Flyers basketball, the club’s respective charitable foundations and Ashton Gate Stadium. I take up my new role on January 8th.
I have thoroughly enjoyed by time with Bristol City and have been honoured to work with highly dedicated and skilled players and staff.
In particular, I want to thank the Bristol City communications team present and past for the journey we have been on together, which included triple back-to-back gold awards for the best content in the English Football League and established our highly-respected reputation for communications within the EFL.
It is now time to bring my experience in football, rugby and stadium communications into a wider remit as we continue to grow as a group. These are exciting times at Ashton Gate, including a world-class sporting quarter development for the city containing a 4000-seater home for the Flyers.
The football club are in the process of appointing a new Head of Communications and I am looking forward to working with my successor.
I have no doubt that Bristol City will ultimately achieve promotion to the Premier League and I have been privileged to have served the Robins.
Up the City!
So he's essentially been promoted despite demonstrably being shit in his current role beyond arse kissing and incessant platitudes haha.
I'm sure that there was a world class recruitment process.

No wonder Hearn wasn't giving Fury too much sh1t for the Neagranu fight, he's next for AJ ...
Yeah, incredible these Saudi weirdos have such a mega hard on for Ngannou.
I thought AJ still had a bit of ambition tbh. Here's what he's happy with now for all of us to see.

Thanks, that’s reassuring.
Interestingly it appears the rail seating at West Ham is just an adaptation of the existing seating, rather than a bespoke rail seat that can be locked in position.
Not sure I’d want my son standing on them though, that wouldn’t be very stable, particularly if you suddenly react to something on the pitch.
Given that you were considering bringing a step for your teenage child, I was hoping to reassure you that your view wouldn't be spoiled rather than making a serious suggestion.

Just bumping this. Anyone know? Little bit concerned.
Was actually thinking of bringing a little folding step for him, but I see West Ham don’t let you bring in rucksacks (no bags bigger than A4), so I don’t think I’d get it in.
I've been in the safe standing a couple of times at Cardiff with my 11 year old boy with no issues, and I'm sure the rake at the London Stadium is steeper.
We're in the rail seats on Sunday too.
edit- if a giant is in front of you then your son can stand on his seat, I presume they won't be locked upright.

Sack the transfer forum at the same time!
I understand the rationale behind that- it encourages sign ups to the forum rather than lurking and keeps (some of!) the batshit WUMs at bay
The ex forum is clunky and stifles the flow of OTIB imo.
@phantom any chance of changing it back please?

Only just caught up on this and watched the highlights, Inoue is a great fighter . Anyone know what the big announcement he was talking about is?
I think it was that he's fighting the Mexican Luis Nery next. Nery is a hate figure in Japanese boxing, so they're all desperate for Inoue to batter him!
He pissed hot when absolutely nuking Shinsuke Yamanaka in Tokyo, then came in massively overweight when ordered to rematch him. Yamananka is a hero over there and they're furious with Nery's cheating and disrespect.
It'll have to be in the States though, Nery is banned from fighting in Japan forever!

Been posted already and moved to the ex players section. Leading me to repeat my plea - can we remerge that section with the main forum, it’s had a trial period now and we keep getting stuff posted here first and moved so I think it’s clear what the preference is. Either that or run a poll confirming if people want it to stay.

Haven’t used that sub forum once
Totally agree, one of the best things about OTIB was that we didn't get topics hived off to various sub fora.
Please change it back mods!

Fair play Tapales, an absolute warrior.
Inoue is SERIOUS.

Morning!
Inoue goes for 2x undisputed in Japan on Sky in an hour or so, is this the best Christmas of boxing ever?

The neck of Wilder looking like he thought he'd won it haha.

Fantastic stuff from Parker, but Wilder stank the place out. Bizarre.
