You do have to give the swallows a chance to arrive though! -

Not bad for a “muppet miles out of his depth” eh Andy. -
Ridiculous how quickly some are writing him off. It’s not his fault that Pearson was sacked. It’s a solid start for him now. Give the guy a fair chance.

Shocker of a decision. Just appalling. -

I mean that’s just a completely thick answer isn’t it. You’ve got to at least give them a fair chance to be successful first. -

Anything about the quality and stock issues with the merchandise? -
I see that Wolves game as the defining match of the last decade for this club. We were on an upward trajectory until that game, and if you look at everything that's happened since, we've never quite recovered from it. That's not to say that game was directly responsible for every negative result that followed, and you're right that a better - and perhaps deeper - squad could have recovered from it. But looking back, it was pivotal.
-
Actually remarkable when you think about it that one of the best goals we've scored in decades occurred in one of our greatest matches. And it isn't even the most memorable moment in the game. Truly a perfect night.

Watford away Boxing Day - only half tickets sold
ChippenhamRed replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
Really hate this sort of crap. People have a limited amount of money, so they will prioritise what they spend it on. Of course a game against Arsenal would be a priority for lots of us, and of course a game against Watford on Boxing Day wouldn’t be. It does not hold the same attraction. You might be fortunate enough to have an endless pot of cash for football, or unfortunate enough to have nothing else going on in your life to compete for your attention and your money. It’s not like that for most people. -
I wasn’t at the match today but great to hear he had a superb game. What I would say is, one excellent game alone doesn’t suddenly end the conversation about whether he is good enough in the long term to help take us to the next level, any more than one poor game would suddenly mean he isn’t good enough. Which is why smug “not good enough for this level apparently” type comments on here aren’t as clever as people think they are. We all know he is capable of outstanding performances and he has always been a great shot stopper. It’s about whether he is consistently at the required level across a 46 game season. I’m still to be convinced on that, but neither have I made my mind up.

Thinking about it more, I’m not sure how these things work but wouldn’t he be refused insurance to play again?

It’s a strange narrative for a team 14th in the table. Six points in the Championship is a million miles away! -

Final score just introduced us as “as it stands Bristol City are just six points off the play offs!” Which is an odd way to frame us. -
Hope he’s OK. He will absolutely have to retire this time.

Club shop - shocking lack of merchandise and shirts
ChippenhamRed replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
Worth checking again on the website. After my moaning here and on twitter (including tagging Jerry), some U13 away shirts suddenly magically appeared in stock. I was able to order and it arrived today. Mad that they are willing to risk losing sales by not making all the stock they have available online all the time. -
Any chance of a further allocation I wonder. Yes, I’m desperate.

Personally I wouldn’t allow people to upgrade child tickets to adult for games like this. That adult isn’t a season ticket holder and (likely) isn’t a member, and they shouldn’t get priority over those of us waiting patiently for our turn having paid for the privilege.
-
Fair enough. But I know at Spurs, for example, children aren’t permitted in the safe standing areas. It’s also not ideal for them actually being able to see anything!
-
I guess rail seating isn’t permitted for U18s? In which case I am definitely sunk.

I think members are sunk!
