    This.

my mum called me today, sent home from work for having a fever and cough. I’ve been with her this weekend and last, so work sent me home this afternoon (To work from home) after the call.

I then got an email saying one of the directors has suggested if I have no symptoms myself I should come back to work tomorrow!

My partners also got a temperature though no other symptoms of yet. All a little too close to home now - for someone who admittedly thought they’d have little chance of catching it

Exactly, we’re at the mercy of our employers.  Much as people say just do it, that’s not how the world works.  Government should shut it down officially so people an companies can claim on insurance.  For the ‘party of business’ Boris is a ***.

Well I thought the ‘advice’ was quite clear yesterday.
If you have the ability to work from home then you should. That was made quite clear.
As for those “at risk”, it’s also quite clear that those who are in at risk categories should stay away from work or any kind of social gathering.

Whilst this is just ‘advice’ at this stage, I think you are incorrect to say that it’s not been made clear. It’s really quite, quite clear that if you have the ability to work from home (which you have said you can easily do) then you should. I don’t know what is in any way ambiguous about that?

Well can someone tell my employers please?

You know, those people that pay me.

That’s the difference between ‘advice’ and ‘an order’

May get an emoji or two but tbh I am NOT singling out any country here.

I get the impression, was thinking about this earlier, they were treating this as a normal recession until lately, or something like. Fiscal stimulus such as announced in Sunak's first budget, cutting interest rates and cutting again to virtually zero...fine in a standard recession but certainly not enough now- think the penny is finally dropping but even so.

If you look at the measures though, or a lot of them economically that have been taken to date they are in line with past recessions..but past recessions in our lifetime have seen nothing quite like this upheaval- even in 2008/09, a bit of stimulus, bit of rate cuts- well it took a lot out but if you're having to close businesses, lay off staff temporarily or otherwise- think of mothballing plants and factories in the past, it just doesn't cut it.

I even remember if they- as in Governments not any in particular- had properly learnt and absorbed the lessons of that crash...not sure! This one feels more serious in a number of ways than even the late 2000's one!

Clarity is what is needed, what with Coronavirus  and whatever form of Brexit is on the way we’re ******.

2 unknowables at once is going to screw us.

  4. Can our ******* Government actually make a ******* decision.  Advice does not help, our employers need support and be told to send those at risk, or those that live with those at risk home.
I could easily do my job from home.

**** Boris is not going to be remembered fondly.

Theresa May ‘I was crap’, Boris ‘Hold my Beer’.

Not that I think Jeremy Corbyn would have done any better.  We have such low grade politicians at the moment.

Interestingly, the EU is planning a major equipment pooling effort, plus sharing information and data. Whatever your views on Brexit, it’s a great pity that we are not part of this.

My views are quite clear, just over half the country are mad, or been lied to.

The only way that I can cope is that I haven’t kids, however having no skin in the game does make me unattractively gloating.  Not a good look.

Need to work on that, but suck it up you plastic flag wavers.

What I want to know is where has 'Brexit gone???......all lost & forgotten.

    It happened.

It’s the possibility of a decent trade agreement that’s being screwed by this (Not that I ever thought we’d get one).

Love to see the Venn diagram between all those ‘Blitz Spirit’, ‘Dunkirk’, ‘D-Day’ spouting gammons and those stockpiling ******* Andrex.

    I’m imagining just 1 circle.

Brighton literally bought your best player to stick in their reserves who then got out muscled by little Tom Nichols who then scored what must be his 7th goal in about 100 apps.

Thanks for spending another night obsessing over us.

Much love, always in your minds,

    Rovers x

Mmm.  The money we got from the sale of Webster is enough to have paid off the Al Q’s and the debt on the Mem.  The balance plus the sale of the Mem would have paid for a new stadium for you.  Sadly we spent it on multi million pound players that we’ll also make a profit on.  Now where did the £300k for Matty go?

    Numbskull.

Don't forget Hillman, my old man had a Husky followed by a Super Minx - had a hell of a kick back when starting it on the crank handle.

And Triumph, I had a Dolomite Sprint and followed that up with a Stag - both blew head gaskets twice. Loved both of them though. But the love of my life was my first motor, a Lambretta Li150 which got me and my Mrs to Weymouth and back on many occasions.

Back on topic, that memorial "stadium" looks like a tinpot shower of shite which belongs a few tiers down in the football pyramid. Its shockingly bad for a football league club. How much is a bit of paint FFS.

I believe @ivorguy ended up upside down in a Husky after a wheel fell off in ‘76.

Luckily a little after he’d dropped my mum off somewhere, whilst heavily pregnant with me.
