  1. Do you think he knows who sold them their "big" screen?
  2. Yeh I knew he'd left us for FGR. Just hadn't kept tabs on him to know he was on loan at Bromley. Hope he has a good game!
  3. Am I correct that McCoulsky is currently on loan at Bromley? This tweet from September suggests he is but I can't see it confirmed anywhere.
  4. I think he is trying to say that because some of his "opinions" on football are more or less correct then his "opinion" that the Gas are bigger than Preston North End must also be correct. It's so flawed that it doesn't even deserve the term logic.
  5. Ok, we can all have a laugh at this but be fair to the bloke: in certain seasons Arsenal have definitely been the best team in London. Other than that, if I were the word "opinion" I'd be heading round this guy's house to explain to him exactly what I mean and exactly how I should be used.
  6. Mad accusation isn't it. For goodness sake the man literally named a quarter of our stadium after himself. He literally has his name on the stadium. Why would you ever write your name on a massively important piece of what you've invested in if you were "bored" of it?
  7. In an attempt to answer my own question; Gap Day was 28 October 2000. Currently only one player in our first team squad from the OS https://www.bcfc.co.uk/teams/first-team-squad/ has a DOB after that date: Massengo who was born on 7 June 2001. Players who we can add to this list next year are Semenyo who was born on 1 Jan 2000 and Janneh who was born 10 days later on 11 January 2000. This is incorrect but I'm not beyond laughing at my own idiocy so will leave it in. Cheers @JamesBCFC Most of the squad were born in the early to mid 90's and I now feel pretty old: if you need me I'll be chilling with Maenpaa, Williams, Rowe and Gilmartin in 1980's corner.
  8. How many of our team is the Gap older than? Massengo certainly, possibly Semenyo? Might only need another 3 or 4 years before we can field an entire XI who've never known a world where the Gas are above the might City.
  9. @TomF - is there an argument to give The Hundred it's own thread? Title of this one is "The County Cricket Thread". Seeing as The Hundred has nothing to do with the counties other than stealing their players and littering them around some cities let's not mix that shit in with the quality County and T20 chat. Should also make it easier to erase all evidence of it once it bombs.
  10. Yep, I forgot about the other stands being affected.
  11. You may well be right - just looked up the official match report and from the highlights it shows the end sections of the Dolman, and presumably the Williams netted off. I remembered those stands as being unaffected until later in the rebuild. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/report-bristol-city-2-1-yeovil-town/ Anyway, the point is that even with 3/4 of a stadium we averaged 50% more than that lot are currently managing...although tbf even 3/4 of a stadium is a vast improvement on 4 tents and a gazebo.
  12. 7,202 x 3 = 21,606 We get treble their average with 447 to spare. For absolute fairness though we should probably take a look at what our average was in the last season that we were in a similar position to where they currently are. The last time we were high up in L1 was obviously the season we won it - 2014/15. Looking around at a few sources, including those already used it looks as though we averaged 12,056 at home in the league over the whole season. Highest attendance was over 13,700 for Yeovil on Boxing Day. There's an argument that we could have had a higher gate as at the start of that season the Wedlock was demolished - although our max capacity was still around 16,000 at that stage so realistically this probably didn't have a huge affect on our attendances.

Yeh, for my longer training runs I've been lapping the North Sound golf course at 6am. Pretty dire tbh, is there anywhere else that's decent for long training runs?

    Runners!

Have run a fair bit over the past few years, never particularly quickly. Best ever 5k is about 22:30 - done several years ago when I was at my peak of martial arts fitness. Managed a 1:54 in the Bristol HM last year, which I was happy with. @One Team In Keynsham I've signed up for the Cayman half - expecting it to be bloody miserable given how hot it is out here.
  15. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/oct/09/jonson-clarke-harris-bristol-rovers Clarke-Harris getting a long piece by Ben Fisher in the Guardian online today...but good old Ben still manages to get us a mention. "Clarke-Harris is relishing his status as Rovers’ talisman but it was at Oldham under the now-Bristol City manager Lee Johnson, who signed the striker for around £4,000, where he made his first dent in the Football League before a £350,000 move to the Championship with Rotherham a season later. Clarke-Harris is the latest in a long line of forwards to thrive in blue-and-white quarters, including Matty Taylor, Billy Bodin, Ellis Harrison and Rickie Lambert." Forever in our shadow.
  16. I can only hope that the #WeAreSomerset and lack of any hundred hashtags is intended as a slight two fingered salute to the ECB.
  17. Bring Jos home.* *Do not do this. No point at all having signing a guy who will just be off with England the whole summer.
  18. Anyone know why play HAS to finish at 17:30? Been plenty of times this summer when it's gone on far later than that. I know the light will fade much earlier than in June but still seems odd.
  19. Surely this isn't happening. 75 minutes and 63 runs to get 10 wickets...
