  1. Are you actually being serious Harry? Before Cotterill we had 2 wins from 19 games with 15 points. That's 0.78 points per game. You could take various periods afer he arrived, but to focus on his first 14 games yes it was 4 wins but with 5 draws and 5 defeats and 17 points. That's 1.2 points per game. So statistically Cotterill improved us by 50% in his first 14 games. That took us to the beginning of February by which time Cotts had sorted out the shit and brought in what he could in the transfer window, which enabled him to continue his improvement which was nothing short of miraculous. Give the bloke a bit of credit mate.
  2. Your mate may be saying that now mate, after a couple of easy victories, but after a couple of defeats and LJ blaming eveyone bar himself and talking absolute drivel again, I dare say your mate may have a different opinion. These comments from just the first of 14 pages in response to LJ's post match comments after the defeat against Shrewsbury, could have been lifted straight off of OTIB: Thought we were good for a draw . It’s ****ing Shrewsbury. Looks and sounds a beaten man USP!!! He’s bigged up every team we’ve played just in case Talks a lot, says nowt Would rather lick up someone’s cold spew than listen to the shite coming from his mouth. Thinks he knows it all but knows **** all. Back to basics already he says.... POMO and Bomb Alley binned Watched 40 seconds and had to switch it off. I would drop the Mr marra, He is losing my respect rapidly Absolute Whopper
  3. If that’s the same gig I was at Sting broke off mid song and said he’d walk off stage if anyone else gobbed on him. He was dripping in phlegm and didn’t much like it. Loved punk but that aspect was disgusting.
  4. Yes it's funny isnt it, many people if faced with a choice of saying whether that was describing LJ or SC, would say SC, due to perceptions, but everything I heard about SC, from somebody who witnessed it first hand, is that he is very good at managing and relating to players, all of whom had a lot of respect for him.
  5. One of my favourites: "Someone tell him him he’s supposed to be managing a footy club and not a junior executive at an advertising agency. USP my ****ing arse. Unless he means his uniquely shit patter"
  6. You are right I am far from a fan of LJ as I think he's been gifted a very lucrative career way over and above what his playing and managerial capabilities warranted. Wouldnt bother me if it wasnt to the detriment of the football club I've supported for more years than I'd like to own up to. But to suggest that your comments above provides "perspective and balance", considering that 90% of the Sunderland fans are mocking and taking the piss out of Johnson is grossly inaccurate.
  7. With all respect, that is absolute rubbish. The sale of Baldock financed Cotts' signings, which he transformed into players worth several times their cost. Johnson then benefitted from that, plus youngsters for whom the academy coaches not Johnson should be given credit, to sale for massive amounts in order to spunk on players like Engvall and others.
  8. That's true he measured the bleedin grass and i was there at Sunderland when he did it. Innovator? Tosser more like.
  9. Sunderland fans have worked out that David Brent talks bollocks after 12 games. It took Lansdown almost 5 years. It should be laughable but actually angers me to think we replaced a top bloke and great man manager and motivator with that cretin.
  10. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/mr-johnson-post-shrewsbury-defeat-video.1541667/ https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/not-bringing-our-usp-out-in-games.1541665/
  11. Yes I also had a mate who suffered similar consequences, funny thing is I would never have had him down to do what he did. A mad, surreal, drunken day.
  12. Made a last minute decision to go if only to tick off another ground. Scrappy game lack of quality. First half we started ok but Wigan came more and more into it and Frankie made a couple of good saves. Second half Wigan faded and for some reason took off their best player Obertan. City finished stronger and just about deserved the win. Afraid to say Taylor will never be a Championship player. Tomlin believe it or not worked hard and did ok. Flint was a rock. Wigan have a similar defender Jake Buxton nothing got past him. Small minority started Johnson out chants during the game but were quickly drowned out
  13. He's spent more that any other manager in our history on a complete new squad and has broken the record for straight defeats. I've been watching City since 1968 and I have definitely not seen a worse managerial appointment than Johnson, and that even includes SOD.
  14. Agreed. Ipswich at Ashton Gate were one of the most inoffensive football teams I have ever seen and that McGoldrick quality at this level but talk about a player going through the motions to earn his money.
  15. On £10k a week I'd say most people on this forum would put up with however you think he was treated. But you could pay him £100k and that will not give him the qualities needed to manage. He may be a good coach, tactician and all the rest, I just don't know, but IMO he will not be strong enough to manage certain types of player.
  16. Yes agreed, and therein lies the reason why I have always doubted LJ will be a successful manager. Can't see him having the strength or forcefulness of character.
  17. Sorry the thread is about 10 pages, which post number? Or which ones did you highlight?
  18. How does refuting your claim that dislike of SC was backed up with "debate", have anything to do with what I thought of SC as a manager. Although, if you want to go on to that, yes I do think SC could have turned it around IF he had been given the backing. And I did say from the day LJ was appointed I cannot see him being a good manager for Bristol City, in fact I said if he takes us out of this division it will be down not up. Hope I'm wrong, but my opinion is based not on irrational dislike, just common sense analysis.
  19. The fact is the thing which "Spud" in particular slated SC for he would not back up with hard fact; therefore the so called "debate" you refer to was non existent.
  20. No that is incorrect. There was never any "debate", just insinuations about what was wrong behind the scenes because of SC. They may have been wrong, they may have been right, but the insinuations were never backed up by hard fact. And I say that as someone who knows KITR and Harry.
  21. Correction it was 498. I had a box in the Norwich & Peterborough, for the benefit of my grandfather who is 99 years and was a season ticket holder at Carrow Road for 40 years and before that used to watch at their previous ground The Nest from the 1930's. Eight from Bristol and 4 from Norwich. I would upload some photos but haven't got a clue how to do it. Delia's cooking wasn't all that maybe too many sherrys. I've watched more games at Carrow Road over the past 45 years than any other place but Ashton Gate, and I love Norwich and Norfolk. As for the game, as I expected, we were second best. Norwich weren't as good as I thought they would be, but for above reasons have always been my second team and hope they go up. On the games I've seen so far, which is all of them, about mid table for BCFC if we are lucky. As for player ratings: If Tomlin put as much effort into football as he does at arm gesticulation, he'd be some player. Joe rapidly becoming our best player.
  22. No it's not. For example can you establish SL's wealth from Companies House?
