  1. Ok…..Decided to do a bit of work on the car and then dropped it off at the garage…..
  2. What a thrilling final that was. There are some condensed highlights (If you could even call it that) on YouTube. They should have just tossed a coin at the beginning of that final.
  3. The problem is that he wants to sell ‘Bristol Sport’ which nobody is interested in. They would be interested in Bristol City, but not the other sports I’d imagine?
  4. But not quite as big as the mighty PETERBOROUGH
  5. Yeah, they pride themselves on the atmosphere at Membley being toxic….go figure?! ?
  6. It’s probably due to the fact that every other song is about Bristol City, so I guess the opposition fans are confused as to who they are actually playing? As the neutral Villa groundhoppers said “And the fans are dreadful, they’ve got one club anthem that they tried to get going but it’s just not got going and then every other song is about Bristol City, at least Bristol City have got that section in the corner” Atmosphere = “Sheeeed’ead! Sheeeed’ead! Sheeeed’ead!” Particularly enjoyed the Rovers fans support at the Torquay match a few years back. How did it go again? Oh yes, I remember, “BOO **** OFF ******* RUBBISH BOO ******* DOG SHIT!” Colin Daniel and co didn’t find it a difficult place to play at, but then again, they were wearing Rovers shirts ? Atmosphere second to none alright at the Tinpotteries
  7. No, but that wasn’t my point was it? ?
  8. Spending vast sums of money guarantees nothing. What if we fork out £9 million on a proven goal scorer only to find out that he has done his ACL at the training ground and is out for the rest of the season? Shoving youngsters into the team is a bad idea? Where would the £25 million from Scott be if we had stopped doing that and had paid over the odds to sign someone who probably wants a hefty wage to go with it? Losing Tommy and Andi Weimann is a big blow to us, but spunking money on Championship players would end up with us failing FFP and having points deducted. There is the talent in League One and Two so if we were to spend I’d be happier to spend it there. Just need to find the right type of replacement for Scott and it won’t necessarily have to cost millions.
  9. This beginning to look like an LJ team. Players thinking that they are earning their wage by being safe and playing it sideways. The more I watch Sam Bell the more he looks like an under 14 trying to play men’s football. Lightweight, getting knocked off the ball and can’t kick the ball hard enough to deliver a cross. Think we’re in for a frustrating season again.
  10. Lacklustre and sleepy display today. Much like the Preston game. Just slow and careless with possession. Dickie off now. That’s it for this afternoon then.
  11. I don’t think you can compare the women’s game with the men’s game, apart from the psychological aspect. What stands out for me with Weigman is that she doesn’t seem to worry too much about the opposition and prefers to focus on the strengths of her own team. This is where the men could learn. So often we have been guilty for taking the lead and then dropping deep to defend it and it doesn’t work. Our pace and attacking threat is a worry for anyone. The French were certainly worried when we played them in the World Cup, but we refused to get at their fullbacks (which Morocco did with ease) and exposed them time and time again. The England women when they break are very direct, the men get forward, spend a while looking for gaps and then play it back into the midfield and try to build again. This doesn’t play to our strengths and is frustrating to watch. The women trust each other and play to their strengths which in turn breeds confidence and improves their mentality. Even when under pressure they don’t panic and then they slow the match down at the end and manage it out having broken the spirit of the opposition. Gareth is far too conservative and is not a winner. We are certainly capable of winning a trophy with the men, but he’s not the coach to get the job done. The women have the right coach and although they will have less of the ball tomorrow than they are used to I would still expect them to be patient in their approach and when they do get the opportunity to break they will play to their strengths, not panic and be clinical because they know how to find a way to win.
  12. I’d never seen so many genuinely worried Gasheads when we unexpectedly reached the play off final. Those I knew kept making a point of letting me know that they felt that we were going to do it and it was more a case of them trying to prepare themselves for what would have been their worst nightmare and also a defeatist attempt to try and soften the blow in hope that we wouldn’t revel in it and rub it in their faces. They bit their nails just as much as we did that day, but **** me, when the final whistle went they didn’t half crawl out from under their stones and start giving it the biggun again! It was (even since 1982) the best finish outside of the top division and it was a little stick that Gasheads could enthusiastically beat us with for a while. But then……..along came Colin Daniel and eclipsed everything that had gone before by a country mile. All those love-ins with Windass came back to haunt you big-time. Two Divorces and imaginary City fans in the Mansfield end and ‘waiting outside’ for you. You reap what you sow and you deserve to have the piss ripped out of you royally. You’ve completely lost your way in this thread and have now gone all philosophical Barton on us. Any attempt by Gasheads to ridicule City will always be feeble because you have nothing of any credible substance other than singing the blues when you win and we lose (one match). You are a sinking dinghy, certainly not the titanic (oh, thanks for that one too by the way). The only thing that triggers anyone is when we refer to you as ‘Tinpot’ And you are so ******* TINPOT! ??? Remember Joey’s words following relegation from League One. “The other side of the City will be laughing at us, sinking ship and it’s the Titanic at the moment’. The gift ? Stay off the drugs. Drugs are bad. Mmmkay? ?
  13. When I listened to the bumbling Wally interview with Geoff I swear that he said that Membley and the Fruitihad weren't linked in any way? Sounds like Wally hasn't had a chat with Hussain about this? Unless of course the whole thing is just a load of 'Hot Air'....which brings me nicely on to the next subject..... Every so often one deluded inbred breaks cover and attempts to take on the 'Dustbin Thread' regulars. 1982, Bros? When City were Tinpot etc etc - Do you have anything more up to date and relevant?, or are you simply buried deep in the past like so many of your deluded, dribbling, crayon munching comrades? Do you worship the Tote End and possess a "FTG" number plate by any chance? Let's talk present tense instead..... Your club is a 'laugh a minute' joke. - Recent Past and Present. You haven't got a pot to piss in - Present You have been in our shadow for nearly 23 years - Present Your club is smaller than Peterborough - Present...seeing as you have been discussing attendances Membley has a bigger pile of rubble than Fred Flintstone FFS! Your club is the very definition of TINPOT and it's ******* hilarious. Thanks for being the gift that continues to give and thanks for adding to our entertainment. Mind The Gap Tinpot Bristol Rovers fan. #Tinpot
  14. In fairness, that was one of David ‘Ted’ Brights better moves. It has clearly got right under their tinpot skins.
  15. I’ve just read the article and found something interesting….. Click on the last highlighted link ‘Bristol City Council’ and it takes you directly to ‘Bristol City FC news’. So, yet again the entire blame for the debacle is down to ******* shitheads! Always Ted’s, every single time. Poor little Sag victims life is so unfair to them?
  16. Just watched his first interview at Bournemouth. He is very grounded for a 19 year old and genuinely surprised by how far he has come in the last 3 years. He is very complimentary when it comes to Bristol City and how he will always be grateful for the opportunities that he was given by the club. Clearly excited by the prospect of playing in the Premier League, and describes it as every kids dream. It’s almost like he can’t believe it himself having been disillusioned with football after being released by Southampton and totally lacking self belief. It’s a credit to him that he remains humble despite the fact that he is clearly a very talented footballer. He is top class all round and deserves every success in the future. Pleased he extended his contract to ensure that we benefited well financially from his departure. We’re definitely more financially solid now and the next few years shouldn’t be as frustrating as the previous few.
  17. Positives - We didn’t lose. Zak Vyner looked very composed. 2nd half he was excellent. Dickie had a solid debut. Players looked fit. Worked hard off the ball. Negatives - Looked nervy after taking the lead. Slow and predictable build up play. Struggling to see any quality in Cornick. Equaliser had been coming and we failed to take control of the game. Missed Alex Scott in midfield. Think we would have been more creative had he been fit.
  18. Loads of reasons. Would take far too long to explain, but wanting us to go under so that they could steal Ashton Gate would be top. Hopefully they’ll drop back out of the football league at some point and shut the door on the way out. Gone never to return, let alone another derby with their family supporters trashing our ground. No thanks. Tada Tinpot.
  19. Here's what to expect in the imaginary South Stand.... #tinpot #thegift
  20. They’re threatening each other now on AssChat like a pack of feral dogs and still blaming anyone other than their shambolic club ownership. Tinpot
  21. No idea of the relevance of what it is for and in no way mocking the charity, it’s just so unfortunate with what is going on at Rovers at the moment that they have a unicorn in a Rovers shirt.
  22. There are so many gifts in this photo that I just don’t know where to begin? ? (EDIT: Not knocking the charity by the way….just an unfortunate choice of character) They dig more holes for their reputation than they do for a stand. Absolutely priceless. Complete and utter laughing stock tinpot shambles.
  23. Tried to, but got rumbled as 20,000 attempted the same name and they all got locked out. Just heard that Tim Pot is now going
