  1. Apparently it's not being announced for a few days to keep Preston guessing about our team line up on Saturday.
  2. Gabbidon has had an awful few days as a pundit, on Sunday he gave the Man of the Match award to Mullin of Wrexham saying that he had capped it all by scoring the winning goal. Of course there were still about three minutes of added time to play.
  3. That's bang out of order on Edwards' part. Judging by earlier comments on here it might've been the only half decent odour the Cardiff lads would've sampled since their arrival in Luton.
  4. If he's any good then we can take him on in August.
  5. Just remembered another one Tamworth 1 Bristol City 2 in the second round (I think) of the FA Cup in 2013. Live on nationwide ITV. JET scored the winner.
  6. The league match v WBA in 2010 was the season where the BBC bought rights to show EFL matches and experimented with Championship matches live on Sunday afternoons. I recall West Ham being on a lot. But they didn't get good enough viewing figures to persist.
  7. I believe we have been live on NATIONAL terrestrial TV just four times to date. The 1989 League Cup semi final second leg v Nottingham Forest on ITV, a league match in 2010 (I think) on BBC 1 when we beat WBA 2-1 and the FA Cup games in 2013 away at Tamworth (2-1 win) on ITV and in 2015 v West Ham also on BBC 1. Other games on ITV were just shown on HTV and whatever region the opponents hailed from but not nationally
  8. Quite agree. I didn't bother to watch MotD as I knew what would happen. It's annoying in that they'll even show extended highlights of the game they broadcast live, in it's entirety, just a few hours earlier, plus reshow the goals and highlights from games they have shown about three times already (at the end of Final Score, on the News and then at halftime during the Spurs v PNE game) yet to see the first televised highlights (usually just the goals) from a game that hasn't been seen at all one has to sit through everything one has already seen umpteen times before it is plonked on as an afterthought at the very end.
  9. Hopefully they'll put a late bid in for Semenyo
  10. I think their jealousy goes back to 1989 when City lost very narrowly in the league cup semi final 2-1 over 210 minutes to Nottingham Forest while Luton lost limply 3-1 to the same opponents over just 90 minutes (so would've been 7-2 over 210 minutes) in the final. And, to rub it in even more, Luton's solitary goal was scored by ex City striker Mick Harford.
  11. I would like to wish Bents all the best. A great player and class act. He wasn't given the club captaincy as a keeper for nothing. My only concern is that we could well play Wolves next season in the league or in the cup and it will no doubt be when we are finally awarded that long awaited penalty....and Bents will bloody save it!
  12. Yes a lot of Russians are against the war in Ukraine and increasing numbers of them are seeing their sons come home in body bags. For that reason I am not against Russian footballers. However, if Putin even signed for us I would definitely boo.
  13. Where my partner lives near Pontypridd we went into her local, The Upper Boat Inn, for a meal and drink. Couple of weeks later got a fine for £80. Didn't keep receipts etc so didn't challenge it. When we went there again we went through another entrance and there was a machine to input car reg number. Unfortunately, the other entrance doesn't have this. I wonder if those businesses in cahoots with the parking companies deliberately do this so the parking companies actually make money from those legitimately using the business they are innocently visiting and gracing with their custom. It's all wrong.
  14. The parking fine has now been cancelled. Many thanks for your tips especially Dollymarie as it was through our SLO, Jerry, that it got cancelled. Also, obviously, thanks to Jerry too. I know now I will no longer be paying that fine that it will impact on our compliance with ffp regs but so be it.
  15. Thanks Red hot poker, another avenue to go down. It was only because my partner bought goods online from the club as Christmas presents and a jacket was faulty (zip didn't work and one of the two side pockets was sealed up) that we had to go to the shop to get a replacement and then bought other goods in store in the sale that we were there.
  16. Thanks Dollymarie I will send him an email shortly
  17. Thanks everyone Yes I gather now that there's a machine in the club shop but we simply didn't see it and after making our purchases (which also involved returning something bought online that was faulty) nobody asked if we had inputted our reg number. Plus my partner was moving around on a crutch that was alien to her at the time so we were concentrating more on that. It's annoying as well because we then decided to have a brunch in the cafe. Had we not done that we would've been within the thirty minutes. Plus the cafe gave me the wrong order (scrambled egg on toast when I ordered a veggie chilli jacket potato) so had to wait longer for my correct order to be cooked.
  18. Thanks Loco, I checked on that after and it also went on to say that if items are purchased from the club shop or cafe that charges then don't apply as the registration number can then be logged into the system. Nobody told us of this when we were customers of the club shop or the cafe and as my partner was just getting out and about again on crutches after a partial knee replacement we needed to park fairly close and I wasn't as observant of signs etc as concentrating on getting her crutches out of the car and helping her into the shop.
  19. Thanks Dollymarie. What is Jerry's email address?
  20. Thanks James yes she has proof of the purchases
