  1. What a fantastic exciting season....working out stats to see if or when we might be safe. Thanks to those at the top, Just i wanted from the season.
  2. Hope: To do what Luton, Brighton, Blackpool, Brentford, Cardiff, Swansea, Bournemouth, Burnley, and Hull have all done, reach the premier league. Even for one "Derby" like season, i would take that before i die. Expectation: We continue to flounder as a mid table championship club for the next 20 years constantly looking over our shoulders, flirting with relegation. Whilst the people at the top constantly tell us they have a "plan", appointing unproven, uninspiring managers, and selling any talent we find to balance the books.
  3. That's what migration is about, joining our great nation and assimilate into our culture
  4. Think this a real test for Manning, this is the type of game i would expect City to lose, as the expectation will probably be for us to win, we have had good results with teams in the top 10, and a 3 game win streak, while Birmingham are in freefall, getting booed off the pitch. The circumstances favour us for a win but historically we usually lose this type of game. Will be really interesting if Manning can break that trend, I'll be impressed.
  5. What he said. Also, Typical British response to any situation no matter how bad it is, "could be worse", Steve bought the club and did XY & Z, so "could be worse"...yes, but it "could be better", i don't understand the assumption that if someone else owned the club it would automatically be worse? Steve has done as a lot for Bristol City but damn its taken a LONG time and now he's lost interest, and given the club as a play thing to his son. Bring on the foreign investor i say.
  6. Maybe you could get a new lucky mug for the start of a new lucky era where we win lots of games, time for change maybe? My daughter is into crystals and gave me one that can bring wealth, it hasn't really worked as of yet, but i have big hopes for 2024!
  7. Apparently clubs get paid a lot of money if they reach the premier league, and then substantial parachute payments if they are relegated. Someone should mention it to Landsdown.
  8. I expect Tinnion is doing them too, but still growing into the role, hence the hesitation.
  9. The reason the club seems obsessed with the past is because that's the only good thing about the club, the "present" is a shit show to be honest, so why would they focus on it? Better to talk about the odd star player here and there than shine a light on the current miss-management. The reason people talk about Pearson is because those fans believe forward thinking and progress would be to reach the Prem, that's not people stuck in the past, its people that believed Pearson was the answer to a prosperous future, which got taken away by the clowns. So that feeling of frustration will last a while. The fans are not the problem with this club, the problem is the Lansdown's end of, a little bit of investment in the right places and some good decisions and the club could of reached the prem ages ago. I think i would struggle to do something for nearly 30 years and not improve at it. The true "obsession" is the Lansdown's obsession with the Championship, as i said before, they have turned City into a boring club, that lacks ambition with shit owners. Anyway, i actually liked lee trundle.
  10. I think City's objective this season is to avoid relegation, they can forget the play-offs
  11. What makes everything worse is how SMUG they are. Flippant comments from Tinnion like "see you when we're in the Prem" portrays a person that believes they know best, nobody else's opinion matters, and if you don't like it tough. When you see Tinnion and the Lansdowns in interviews making stupid statements and smirking it just makes me think they don't really care if their decisions work or not, as long as they can do, what THEY want. I don't think i will see City in the prem, even for one season, in my life time which is sad, as I would love to see it and the club would be a perfect fit in my opinion. I believe the only way to get City into the Prem would be to bring in a well known, experienced manager with a decent backroom team that could attract decent players, with some investment it would be possible, but it seems the people that run the club would rather City linger around the championship flirting with relegation. Boring club, lacks ambition, with horrible owners.
  12. How long can we say "it's early days" before we have to start saying "do we think we will come straight back up?". It's like someone else mentioned, it's results that matter, and points. Don't feel it was the best time for a full renovation project as now we are in free fall. My whole life Bristol City have been a bit of a joke team to everyone around me as they all support premier league teams, be nice in my lifetime if just for a while that wasn't the case. It's getting to the point that if someone from another area asks me "which is the best team in Bristol"....not sure how to answer that question anymore, maybe "one of them has a better stadium"

    January

We could always try and get some loans in from a prem club? Chelsea probably have about 20 players we've never heard of that are better than are current squad.

    January

If we just say hypothetically we can get some additions in January, I would like to see a replacement for Scott, obviously we wont get someone of his calibre, but just meaning a creative, positive, driving midfielder. Also, not 100% convinced on Max, and finally a striker?
  15. Doesn't look like Tinnion will be back on X / Twitter any time soon. People are upset (me included) about how Pearson was treated, the sacking of an experienced manager with prem experience, and lastly the utter garbage that comes out the mouths of those in charge. Statements like "top 6 squad", "top 10 budget", "see you when we're in the prem", REALLY annoy people. However, i do think (again myself included) that we should just accept that the people in charge talk garbage and try and move on, focusing on the here and now. We have Manning so lets see what he's about, still a bit too bit early to judge. It's so frustrating that we didn't win today, but i'm glad we are talking about how we should of won easily if we took our chances, that means there is potential with a few tweaks. I am fully aware Nigel wasn't given the opportunity to "tweak" the squad, but again out of our control. If we end up in a relegation battle then let all the lansdown and Tinnion quotes come back out in force. What i think i am most frustrated with is the "what could of been", i genuinely believed Nigel was taking us in the right direction and would get us to the Play-offs, but now we will never know.

    SL

If we had won our last 3 games 4-0 i'm sure you would see and hear him everywhere, however, probably doesn't want to make himself a target for some "negativity".

    ENJOYMENT

Bristol City, the "England" of the championship. All about keeping possession, drawing the other team out, and then taking the opportunity. Problem is, if you have no creative flare the opportunity never comes. Classic England Horseshoe football. Yes i said "shoe"
  18. You do have a point. I guess we have to consider if QPR have a top ten budget and a squad that should be challenging at the top? then it's the same expectation i guess. The stats for the game were incredibly even, next game will be easier to measure. There were a few positives.
  19. The reason i was disappointed with the hiring of Manning is because i was expecting performances like this. You can get some information from a first game in charge, see how the new manager impacts the team, what they do differently. How many times have you seen a team at the bottom of the league, completely awful, new manager comes in and first game they beat someone at the top? Everyone usually says its because the players need to show the new manager their value so they work harder....not happened today though. I just thought QPR are so bad this season we would win this game, we have a top ten budget and a squad to challenge for the Prem right?.. or was that just Lansdown dross, i forget.
  20. As silly as the reference is.... Skoda is now owned by Volkswagen and are decent, so i guess City could be the Volkswagen? The original Skodas used to break down a lot, hence the rep. On a more serious note, to me Manning is a boring, uninspiring choice, i think because he is unproven with no real experience of getting teams into the prem. Where's Warnock when you need him
  21. They are as confused as us with relation to the Pearson sacking. Maybe Lansdown can say we know nothing about football, but they do. I don't think Lansdown expected for 1 minute his decision would blow up like it has.
  22. Imagine this... Nigel's phone rings, It's Mr Lansdown "Nigel old buddy, sorry about the sacking thing...anyway, we are at real risk of the fans not supporting the team on Saturday, any chance you could say something? they'll listen to you."
  23. What an absolute Legend! Top class, I'm so glad he knows about all the support he has from City fans. I hope he gets himself well, and storms back into football to kick some butt! (not against us :P) Also, can't help but think the "YOUR team" confirms my thoughts on Lansdown, he truly believes it's "HIS club" to do with as he pleases with total disregard for the fans, I know some people are of the opinion that he owns it on paper with his money so it's "his", I don't share this opinion, I believe every club, it's culture, it's history belongs to the fans.
  24. Agreed, I would imagine Mike Ashley was horrible to deal with!
