  1. Yeah. It wasn't the highlight of my life. Never mind, in Corsham now
  2. You forgot Tottenham. In fairness you only need to look toward the London slum clearances and the large number of Londoners who were promised "a house in the Country". Then subsequently wound up in bloody Swindon. I lived in Swindon for 10 years (worked there for nearer 20) and was surprised to see "Arsenal in the Community" one lunchtime down in the shopping centre. Most STFC fans seemed to live outside of Swindon (in Calne, Chippenham, Devizes etc)
  3. I havent watched an FA Cup Final since....certainly the 90's. It doesnt hold the same feeling any more. Maybe I'm just growing old but it used to be an occasion. Now its just another game I have no interest in
  4. Grandads Team - Bristol City Dads team - Bristol City. Mums team - None. Local team - Bath City. League wise (Geographically)...um....City Your team - City. Obvs. Kids team - zero kids. Claim to fame? Loose really. I have relatives who played for City, Gas and Swindon and another who worked at the Saints Academy
  5. End of a season thoughts? Watching Somerset Cricket could parallel watching City. I may take a leaf out of Robboreds summer manual and turn up at the local bowls club. I read earlier that Curtis Davis was ooc soon and he was being linked with City. At 37 I thought he'd be too old by now
  6. I also live in Wiltshire. Imagine my shock at driving through Corsham yesterday evening and spotting a young un in da famous quarters. I nearly lost my appetite
  7. Oh behave. Football and integrity divorced years ago
  8. 50 odd years of support for City says I'm a City fan. I'm mostly ambivalent about the Gaseous ones tbh. A local Derby sets me off, but them coming 3rd in the Gloucestershire and District league doesn't wind me up one jot
  9. "in the bar my Lord, in the bar, oh Lord in the bar"
  10. they're confident v Bristol City (H) - Predictions - Derby County Forum - DCFC Fans
  11. Not sure "dump" is the word I'd use. it was certainly old, full of atmosphere (at least it was for that game). I liked the Baseball Ground
  12. Up the Fulham. Seriously. Support the little guy. We'll be there one day, (I hope)
  13. I definitely don't have a "love in" with them, but they do amuse..... as did Donald Trump. Get Promoted from L2? I don't care. Get relegated from L2? I don't care. They make me smile, they are occasionally ball achingly nauseating but as long as they keep their distance...I'm happy
  14. Dave Rogers always gave everything. Yes he made the odd mistake but he never claimed he was an International Class defender. In many ways he was/is Mr Bristol City
  15. I agree. Swindon are too far away, but its a giant improvement on how they started the season. Suspect the Gastards will finish third, but League 1 will be a very tough ask for them
  16. 4 points more than I thought we'd get this Easter. I feel a little easier about next season now
  17. Lived up the hill from Bramall Lane for a while and wasn't averse to sitting on their Kop End to watch the odd midweeker. Decent set of fans!
  18. Can't remember Nigel Smith but certainly remember Nigel Hawkins. Bit unlucky with injury iirc
  19. I always thought Dave could handle himself....and then he met John Fashanu. Dave was literally a "bloody mess".
  20. nah. A heart attack should "thin 'em out" a bit
  21. On the Busses. He was married to Olive (played by Anna Karen)
