Tammy Abraham: Loaned to City from Chelsea and the rest was history. He won the Champions League with Chelsea and is now managed by Jose Mourinho, winning the Conference League last season.

The difference is that Devon White was actually effective. He played in the Premiership whereas Bas should have been playing on the Downs. Apparently you players couldn't believe he was actually a professional footballer when he first turned up for training.
For some reason, people objected to my objection that Phillips was a good goalkeeper for us and that I rated him.
And the Stewart debate was kind of a strange offshoot in which I was perversely expected to be fully aware of the minutiae of his entire career.
As I have said before, post on the Independent forum, not the official one. Behave with courtesy and respect for others and I have no doubt you will be welcomed with open arms. However, be prepared to banter and don't dish it out if you can't take it.
Big Dev was very effective I grant ya. We don't do Wimbledon style football though

Thank you. Andy Smith - A non-scoring striker in the image of the fondly remembered Bas Savage.
He played 10 ******* games. Jesus Christ

These days Andi Weimann. In older days Bobby Reid and before that, Shelts

Rovers were actually regarded very well by the local community in Twerton, who were sorry to see them leave. I've always seen Barf as Rovers territory for this reason.
Rovers were equally sorry to leave, as Twerton was the scene of numerous famous victories over ci*y, including the glorious 3-0 victory that confirmed us as champions of what is now L1. However, the 4-0 hammering will always have a special place in my heart.
I was from the Weston area of Bath and know a good many Bath City fans who resented the fact that Rovers pitched up at Twerton Park. Similarly I know of a number of "Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U" fans who temporarily watched the Gas and seem remarkably absent from The Mem

Always liked Arsene Wenger as a manager personally. I thought the way he kept Arsenal qualifying for Champions League Football for so many years given the budget he had was an immense achievement.
City wise....Joe Jordan

There is a big gap between L1 and Championship in terms of finance, speed.....everything. It'd be short term delight for the Gas followed by months of misery.

A printed programme...I remember them. It was all part of the matchday experience, whether in Bristol or some far flung (for me in those days) place like Wolverhampton. I'm old enough to remember the "Football League Review" which came with the programme and thoroughly enjoyed the read. Like a printed daily newspaper though....it's had it's day and times move on.

Lots of goals from crosses, and lovely pitches. Not sure about the soundtrack though.
Youtube has thrown me straight in to 'Bristol City , the Glory Years'. Are you one of the talking heads at the start? If so let us all know.
No. I stumbled all over this clip this afternoon when one of my colleagues was boring me shitless and I was just agreeing with everything she was whining about. Some great memories in there...Norman's free kick made me grin. Poignantly it all ends with the Big Cheese...in more ways than one

Can't see City sacking him, though he's a proud individual and feel he may resign. Who takes his place? Very possibly Jason Euell. Its just speculation..he's very definitely Citys manager atm

Not true. For starters Aldershot had the roses and mini garden between the turnstiles and stands with not a hint of canvas or plastic in sight.
Are you sure you haven't confused 'The Wreck' with 'The Rec'?
Alder bloody shot......now there's a memory. Wasn't their ground in the middle of a public park? You rocked up at the turnstiles and took a walk along a public pathway around some shrubbery to whatever part of the ground we were standing in. Top Right from memory

Same for the England game wasn't it? 45,344 in a stadium that according to the official world cup site holds 40,000
Infact, same for every game so far apparently
I knew The Gas owner had a role out there one way or the other

"Last week marked 22 years since the last time Rovers were above City in the league pyramid, a statistic gleefully classified by supporters in the south as “The Gap” and as the Robins have spent 14 seasons as a Championship team in that period, the Gas have been unable to get out of League One"
I beg to differ. Even had a spell as a non league side
