I went to Molineux on Boxing Day 1966 and we got a 1-1 draw. The return game twenty four hours later under the new 4 pylon floodlight towers ended 0-1. Danny Bartley made his debut. Reading Havanatopia's excellent OP, and seeing the picture of the steel works reminds me of how much Britain and life gas changed in fifty years. We went by steam train via Birmingham and all the way from Brum to Wolverhampton there were dirty steel works alongside the whole distance. The railway track is now a dual carriageway without a steel mill anywhere. All I can hope today is that our team can break what must be one of the longest runs without a win for any team at an away ground.

Our form in the last nine matches is poor to say the least, Two wins, one draw and six defeats with many of the points discarded by silly defensive mistakes and an inability to put that ball in the onion bag. Don't forget that nine matches is 20% of the season. I'm not throwing toys out of the pram as I'm now too old to have any toys. Just a lifetime of knowing that if City can f*** it up, they will. And didn't we do it brilliantly today against a team that had only won one in the last eight?

But it takes about 90 minutes to play 80. Not as bad as American Football where a 60 minute lasts about 4 hours.

I'm so sad that Bristol Rugby appear to be run like City were in the dark days before relegation in 2013. No apparent plan for player recruitment or Academy progression. Since gaining promotion, Bris have signed too many "journeymen" and past it players. They also have a problem in that there are so many injuries occurring all the time. i know that professional rugby is more demanding of the body than football, but that leads me to the thought that either the players are not fit enough for the task or are getting injured so regularly because they are too tense and not performing to the best in a relaxed way. Poor coaching?

Always believe that if Bristol City ....................................... We've had a reasonable start to the season but we have now scored two goals in two consecutive away games yet bring home only one point. Now I know why I am such a pessimist as a City fan. I've seen this too many times before in my long career as a City fan and depending on how long I live, I expect there will be plenty more. ............................................ can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, they sure as hell will!

I have not read all the previous posts so don't know if I duplicate any previous comments. What an amazing transition in the second half from a group of players who may not be the best in the world, but keep on fighting for the whole match. Also an honourable mention to LJ/JP who clearly tweaked the tactics at half time and probably did not slag anyone but managed to gee them up after a first half playing second fiddle to Villa. I would not presume to mention anyone as MOM but I do believe that Mark Little deserves a special mention. He, like many others did not make the best start to the match but what a good pro he is. He never gives in and had a superb second half. Can we now stop the "hate" campaign and openly support all of our players.

I suppose City's moment came back in 1965 when we played Oldham at home in Division Three and needed to overtake Mansfield for second spot when goal average was the calculation to separate those teams on the same points. City had to better Mansfield score and by winning 2-0 we did end up with promotion. I remember the anxiety toward the end of the game in case Mansfield scored another one which would mean they would go up instead. After the game I had to go to work driving a bus on the number 8 route, Southmead to Warmley so could not celebrate with a pint until the next day.

The interviews are great. Kodjia speaking pretty reasonable English George Dowling so happy that he was on the verge of tears. Big men do cry George and from what I saw, he has a future. Glad Kodjia didn't get a nick on Joe's shot and what a party piece from Lee Tomlin. A win at QPR and Bristol winning the pray-offs. Enjoy the summer fellow fans.

Will they now revert to their original name? THE BLACK ARABS FOOTBALL CLUB.

The Return of the Five Pillars .. Yayyyy...

The perfect examples to show it is not rigid. We could probably make a profit already if we wanted to cash in on Kodjia. (Hope we don't) And with Golbourne being a Bristol boy, the fee of approx £300,000 would appear to be very reasonable for one who we may never recoup any money but who may well give us the next 4 to 6 years. That pillar has to be more flexible than some of the others.
