    Just saying....

Just saying what? I was having a discussion about some of the problems that can happen when a very tactical manager puts too many ideas in players heads too soon. I had been wondering if that might be a problem with LJ.

I put it forward as 'I was wondering', Not 'we're shite' 'LJs messing it up' 'here we go again' etc. I'm not a LJ bashed and have no agenda with him and am always positive towards the team. But I will discuss thoughts that come into my mind, with it being a board for discussion and all.

And tbf, as far as I understand it we did simplify our game as well as come back to the 541 that JP and WE had implemented which kicked us on in the 2nd half. Many comments of 'the players didn't look like they knew what they were doing in the first half'.

Yep...apparently we are worse under LJ...relegated after 3 mins into a game...this is a great win...a very hard game against another side fighting for their lives.

As MK Dons showed against Hull...teams at the bottom are generally harder to play against.

Well done LJ and the lads and all those supporters getting behind them.

I wouldn't be getting carried away for or against but that was a great turnaround from the first half.

Yep, credit where it's due. His HT team talk at Wolves seemed to have the wrong effect, so well done LJ for getting this one right and making the changes that made a difference.

Great result, and well done LJ for sorting the side at HT

Definitely. When we went 1 down I said that this would be a good test of how far we've come since SC and what happened in the home game.

In that context, looks somewhat positive.

Poor first half. No passion or energy. Fulham passing around our box for fun all of ours about 6-7 yards in front giving them space to run and pick us apart.

Wilbs in. Lumping it up to him hoping for some luck. Surprisingly none so far.

Kodjia on the wing. Not sure where he should be.

Bryan, Freeman and Pack are on the pitch casually jogging around.

Back 4 and keeper not awful. Fulham only the one real chance where McCormack beautifully buried. Some long shots but down to midfield not marking or closing down their midfield.

Needs a big change in the second half. Reid and Odemwingie warming up a bit early with trainer. Maybe s couple changes?

I hope they got a bollocking at HT. The double substitution would suggest so.

Which is probably why cotts wouldn't change anything and kept doing the same thing over and over again

You have to integrate it gradually though, too much at once and there's too much confusion. Like you say, it's not rocket science but the margins are fine and too much to remember all at once in a high pressure environment like a football match can create a negative effect.

I do also think Cotterill used to overcomplicate things and get players to do very specific things in situations which were unnatural for the players ie. Packs cross field passes.

I haven't got an agenda against LJ, want him to do well. Just something that had come to mind after listening to a lot of his interviews recently.

It's not brain surgery, unless our players are thick as horse shiii,it might just be something thing as simple as the players arnt good enough, still get something out of this I feel

Its not about how hard it is to understand, its about how engrained it is in the minds and bodies of the players. Those split seconds that you lose trying to remember something more complex or new makes a massive difference when reacting against players who are used to what they're doing.

I know it's early days, but I can't help thinking LJ is undoing the good work that's been done with JP & WE.

I have been wondering whether he might be putting too much tactical information into the players. JP and WE had got it back to the basics which had the players looking comfortable again. Too much coaching and tactical changes too quickly and it can leave players unsure of themselves, overly focussed on trying to remember the 'right' things to do in certain situations.

  8. the Gasheads are getting all excited about the headline 'The role of Bristol Rovers in deciding the future of world football' in the Times article.

I don't think they get their status as a tinpot club and how bizarre the idea of them affecting world football is is what is being used to make it a story.

The fact they buy into that sensationalist headline as something to be proud of shows how desperate they are.
