  1. I'm just a little gutted he didn't go for Burnley purely from a financial perspective. Either way we move on regardless.
  2. Not sure yet without a real test.. However in the short spell I've seen him. I like HWR's distribution and would like to see more.
  3. Its conveniently been changed to close to signing a moment ago.. https://www.newcastleworld.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-west-ham-linked-midfielder-closes-in-on-premier-league-move-4225974
  4. Please tell me a media outlet didn't get duped by that fake tweet yesterday!
  5. Sorry but he just retweeted the story Pete O'Rourke put out.
  6. That's my point. Its only Wolves and Bournemouth who've shown genuine interest with bids so clearly their staff think he's ready. I was replying to a poster who was saying why is he potentially going there and falling short of 'better' clubs. I think he's ready but I'm just saying we do have our own bias on his ability and maybe that's not shared across the board at other clubs.
  7. Ha that's me trying to post when supposedly working. You get my drift!
  8. You have to remember we do have some 'bias' on AS's ability.. I think he'll strive in the Premier League eventually but I don't see that as a full gone conclusion straight away. The analysts and scout might be put off by the fee for someone so young who has amounted alot of Championship games but has only cracked this league so far.
  9. I can see alot of posters saying we could take 'x' amount plus 'x' player. If we interested in that type of arrangement and I'm assuming we just want a straight up fee, would this in theory be better for us in terms of FFP or is it more of a cash flow benefit? @Mr Popodopolous
  10. He's on my list and was before he went to Huddersfield. I've noticed they've not been active on transfers. Do they need to sell?
  11. Same I never usually understand or care about our kit.. however that collar is soo bad its laughable.
  12. He ends with 'It’s unclear if Wolves will go in again' so surely he means the latest bid. I agree though it can easily be read either way.
  13. Exactly need more of it on our side.
  14. Not sure if we'd be able to get him due to availability, wages ect but I'd go for Alex Mowatt. Consistently a good player in the Championship at CM up until recent times. Can bag a few goals too. If Bajics gone then another GK.
  15. You clearly aren't taking in what other posters are saying. Selling one player in a team of 11 and recruiting multiple other players to strengthen the team as a whole surely is a positive. So would you have preferred for no sell of Semenyo. He goes on a free but we get him for the duration of his contract. We have no headroom financially for transfers to further benefit the team, we then do the same with Alex Scott and again utilise another unhappy passenger for the duration of their contract and subsequently miss another opportunity to bring in money to reinvest in the squad. I for one wouldn't want any of that potential scenario. Your viewpoint seems very blinkered to say the least.
  16. You make it all sound so simple. So we simply keep Alex potentially against his wishes of playing in the Premier League and hope he's happy enough to contribute to a promotion or not and he goes for considerably less.
  17. You don't have to feel neutral however is the first game of pre-season (that we can't even watch) with a mix up different players the right time to feel positive or negative.. I don't think so.
  18. The OTIB season is definitely underway. Melodramatic posts about how we are doomed already.
  19. Bell assist to Knight to equalise.
  20. Think they've just got that from transfermarkt. So no bearing on what we'd potentially get. I'd imagine he'll go for a nominal fee at best with a sell on but who knows.
  21. Not the best example though is it? Zaha is going for free, surely that's not the outcome we want with Scott.
  22. Thats good to hear.. I know Pring is brilliant in his own right but glad we have strong competition for that position.
  23. There is a caveat to your thinking though. If he gets snapped up by a non English side will be get considerably less than the compensation already shown by Davefevs. So there is a big risk in that sense however we'll sell before then I'm sure.
  24. Completely agree, the media reports seem to change every other day. Spurs were front runners then West Ham then Inter Milan were interested now its Bournemouth as front runners. There are so many moving parts to consider without really knowing the full story. The window is open for 6 weeks.. If he's going to move (and I think he will) I reckon it'll be towards the end of the window. Unless of course we get an offer we are happy with prior to this.
