  1. To be fair I was going to let the surrounding areas in aswell. Or even players not born in Bristol but moved when the were very young.
  2. Due to our recent academy showing. I got thinking what a full team of active Bristol players would look like. What's the best team you can make out of these: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/detailsuche/spielerdetail/suche/32397745 I'm sure there probably more that aren't in that list. Also there's an interesting one in there a 22 year Joe Bell who is a current New Zealand International but was born in Bristol.
  3. Come on own up or are you chicken?
  4. I think its abit of all the above. All different circumstances.
  5. Didn't want to start a new thread pen or no pen. I thought Scott was brilliant last night and is such a composed player considering his age.
  6. EFL to create Independent Financial Unit after Derby County woe Exclusive: A form of wage control is also set to be introduced in an effort to prevent sides breaking financial fair play rules By Ben Rumsby 6 December 2021 • 4:38pm The English Football League is launching an Independent Financial Unit in a bid to prevent a repeat of the crisis to engulf Derby County and limit the scope of a Government-appointed regulator. Telegraph Sport can reveal the EFL is also planning to introduce a form of wage control in the Championship and real-time monitoring of second-tier clubs’ finances similar to systems already in place in Leagues One and Two. League chiefs are confident this, coupled with the new IFU, will help stop Championship sides breaking financial fair play rules and spending more on wages than they make in revenue. On Monday, the EFL issued a job advert for the head of the IFU, which is also being set up in a bid to end the kind of lengthy and costly legal battles over rule breaches committed by Derby and other clubs. The unit will also police club takeovers and administer the EFL’s owners’ and directors’ test with the aim of convincing the Government those powers should remain within the game and not be transferred to an independent regulator. Trevor Birch, the EFL’s chief executive, told Telegraph Sport plans to create the IFU predated the Government’s Fan-Led Review of Football Governance. He also said it was important the league took action to prevent more clubs following Derby into administration while legislation – which could take months or years to come into force – to bring in an independent regulator was being drawn up. “We think we need to act now,” he told Telegraph Sport, stating he aimed to have the IFU in place in time for next season. Stopping Championship clubs spending beyond their means could compound the competitive advantage already enjoyed by those receiving Premier League parachute payments and the EFL was last night in talks with the world’s richest league over a new model to replace them. The EFL has been pushing for the two organisations to pool their broadcast income, which would see lower-league clubs share 25 per cent of the total pot. That would still leave the Premier League by far the richest league in Europe. The fan-led review proposed a stamp-duty style tax on top-flight transfer fees but Birch said the EFL would prefer a less “arbitrary” redistribution model. Dismissing arguments by the likes of Aston Villa chief executive Christian Purslow that Tesco would not bailout a local corner shop, Birch said: “Having a strong EFL is important, ultimately, to the Premier League. “That’s not wanting to take anything away from the Premier League because we all realise its value and its huge success and would want to support that. We just feel that there would be benefit in having a stronger and sustainable EFL.”
  7. We should be 2 or 3 nil up but the lads have really played well in general. Hope we keep this up for the second half and put away chances where they come and not sit back and invite pressure.
  8. That may be the case. I would hazard a guess that its more likely this random guy has no internal knowledge of team selection within Ipswich and we've jumped on the bandwagon. I just find it slightly weird the negative obsession with MA. Reminds me of the droves of bitter Barnsley fans who wanted nothing more than our downfall because of LJ.
  9. I know its popular here to blame MA for everything during and after his tenure (alot deserved) but I don't see how a random guy on Twitter has proved this even more?
  10. Madness.. this would relegate us certainly.
  11. Watching the team you support does come with the ups and downs emotionally. We've not only had crap results but the way we play is not great currently and hasn't been for a very long time. We can only hope for determination and grit and not much else apart from academy youngsters getting a chance as of right now as a positive. That being said to enjoy the ups you do have to ensure the downside of football.
  12. Stoke clearly dominated possession and had big chances and will be aggrieved they didn't pick up points but stats don't nessarily reflect grit/guts and luck which is a huge factor in sports. I take it we deserved to win based on determination and ultimately putting the ball in the net but Stoke also deserved to win if they had been more clinical. We rode our luck but we showed character so I'm loving it!
  13. Its also possible hes carrying a slight injury, its also possible its a tactical decision.. ect ect. Don't see the point of even mentioning it but don't worry I'm calm.
  14. Your leaps in imagination are incredible. Massengo is definitely wanted by Nigel. Could be a 100 reasons he's on the bench.
  15. Glad he's back of course but I hope this hasn't been expedited to squash conspiries regarding his health or return date. Just hope he's well which is the main thing.
  16. Just a sort of pointless observation really. We're crap and we know that all too well currently.
  17. Geoff is great at asking the right questions regardless of how awkward they may be. I think Gould said all he could say in his position. Nige is staying but currently off poorly until he's 100%, hopes results turn around with Fleming deputising in the meantime. Wasn't fully convincing with the way he said it but I guess he had to be selective with his words because ultimately football is results driven and if we lose 5 more in a row Nigel would be gone either way. Fair play to Gould for fronting up on the radio at the worst time so far.
  18. That definitely ain't gonna happen. Why would he?
  19. Do as I say, not as I do springs to mind.

    Snus?

I'll have to admit I had never heard of this never mind the extent of football players using it.. Guess its like chewing tobacco but little teabags of the stuff? https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/sunderland-joey-barton-bristol-rovers-6018769
  21. I feel exactly the same. That goal was outrageous and probably the best I have seen live but I was very happy we recouped the money for him when we did especially to Cardiff who thought they'd bagged a bargain at the time.
  22. Does anyone know the latest with Robbie Cundy? Feel may we need him as back up down the stretch especially if we continue with three at the back.
  23. Thought he was very steady on his debut. Better improvement on Vyner and Simpson in my eyes.
