The thing is this wasn't the main issue that has caused most of our problems. Covid accelerated the issue but paying over the top wages and fees and banking on success in the transfer market is the main issue. Even if Covid hadn't come along do you still think we'd get a return on the 4 million outlay on Kasey Palmer, the 8 million we paid for Kalas, the 4.5 million on Nakhi Wells? Those fees along with their hefty wages which are way above our pay grade.

I do agree to be honest. To rely on a volatile transfer market to pay huge fees and wages above our level in terms of revenue to compete with teams with higher revenue streams and parachute payments is way too risky. One or two bad investments which all clubs make with recruitment and we're heavily impacted. Now I know Covid has magnified the issue but we have to take responsibility. Also others will point to Brentford ect but they were equally taking a big risk.They just made better decisions with recruitment and thankfully for them got promoted. We must accept this critism as I know posters on here have been hugely critical of Derby ect for their dodgy accounting. Although we've not been deceitful we've been careless in terms of FFP and have to accept this viewpoint and any implications that may come our way. Kieron Maguire has summed it up in the past. Most fans want a sustainable model for their club but they also want substantial investment and success. These two objectives usually never happen. More often clubs which are more sustainable tend to get relegated ie Wycombe, Rotherham ect. Basically we can't have our cake and eat it.

We keep rehashing conversations about Taylor Moore. From interviews sounds like a very nice chap, that aside hes not good enough and I can't remember many games he was good. Not sure why so many fans seemed to rate him. Think it was the history of playing for England youth and Lens academy. We got our pants pulled down by Lens and hopefully we can shift him off the wage bill in the summer. Then again I also hope we do that with Vyner too.

I actually thought it was unfair on Tanner when he got pulled. Until that mistake he was doing okay from memory. I think in Nigels mind he was saving him. Then we had to put up with Simpson the remainder of the game which was to our detriment.

To be fair most of the Ipswich fans on that Crapinson post on their forum have said he's done okay and don't agree with the OP He weakens our team and had some awful performances for us but I hope he does well for himself and also for us to get rid of him in the summer. Seems like people here want him to fail so it vindicates our decision to let him leave and the Mark Ashton situation.

I'd rather give credit to the youth set up we have who clearly are doing a great job day in, day out and Semenyo himself. Not sure Wright's suggestion 2 years ago is the reason Semenyo is starting to put away chances. Think the BP tried to credit him not so long ago but think it was just a slow media day.

I agree with the sentiment but football doesn't ever really work like that in reality. We are in the shit with our finances and I'm mostly worried with keeping our value with Massengo. His contract is up at the end of next season with no option. He's potentially outgrown us currently and I'm sure he has his own ambition further up the pyramid. I hope we don't keep him in the short team for another Diedhiou situation.

I think one of LJ's biggest downfalls is his connection to fans. I'm not sure why maybe its the 'Brent' like phrases ect but it seems wherever he goes he rubs up some fans the wrong way with him just being himself. Even opposition fans seemed to dislike him too. I think Sunderland was a very bad choice as their fans have got a sense of entitlement whenever I look on their forum. They may well be punching below their apparent club size and have for a while but they're expectation is very high so the chances of appeasing that fanbase was always going to be difficult.

I'm gutted really gutted but in the bigger picture. What a performance from the lads. Football is cruel but that doesn't take away from the massive improvements we are showing.

He's not good enough and we're skint so that's why we're signing Klose. Its a risk but it's short term.

Hindsight is a great thing but I'm not sure it's his fault all those players are injured. I would say maybe the decision to resign Baker albeit on a lower wage after his previous injury record wasn't a great idea looking at it right now, also Andy King had a similar injury history at Leicester so was a big red flag. Its a difficult one because when they've both played before injuries I think they've been decent. It was a risk but it unfortunately didn't pay off. Matty James is a player so I'm not surprised he took the chance to sign him again just unlucky to get injured. Tanner and Atkinson we've missed playing so that just shows they are good signings and due to their respective ages I would hope they will play their part at some point down the line but limited this season. Even without hindsight signing Simpson looked a terrible idea. Could tell his legs were gone straight away and that won't work in our team at all. Just a bad decision with this one unfortunately, atleast the financial impact isn't massive with this transfer.

Let's be honest he could just be another Shawn McCoulsky. Scored bags of goals for the under 23's but couldn't kick on at senior level. Hope I'm wrong for the lad and he forges his career in the game. If our academy are okay to let him go, that's enough for me to accept especially considering the talent thats recently come through.

He could just be getting back nearer to match day fitness currently so not risked after such a long lay out.

He's right about the EFL recognising the decimation of the transfer market due to the pandemic. As trading is a huge part of clubs trying to balance the books. That being said taking responsibility for our own actions we were reckless with the fees we paid (even in hindsight) for average players. 8 million on Kalas, 3.5 on Palmer, Wells ect. With the huge increases to wages for such players also madness. I'm sort of glad for this as it means we are completely reevaluating our transfer policy. Not buying over expensive Chelsea cast offs and buying lower league up and comers for considerably less.

Honestly I'm quite liberal with the rules. I would class Pring as one of our own and local.
