A friend of mine lives near him and said Simpson is on first name terms with the Deliveroo driver!

I’m not being funny but hard job as it may be, Pearson’s record is pretty bad, must be one of the worst ever. The end of last season on the trial period he did terribly, and this season has been similar. Although shoots of progress in attack, defensive issues have never been addressed. You have to wonder if he’s ever going to sort things out, especially if he has to sell our most promising assets in the summer. This turnaround is as slow as turning the Queen Mary!

What’s your problem with me personally? Sorry i didn’t read every thread before posting, I didn’t realise the forum police were in town.

I haven’t back tracked once, I don’t rate him and I haven’t changed that stance, despite you getting funny about it, as I said I was aware of his “impressive achievements” before you went on Wiki, I still don’t rate him, how is that back tracking. Not sure what your problem is mate, but if you don’t like other opinions then maybe you shouldn’t post on this forum, maybe join the Mark Hughes Appreciation Society instead?
-
You need to get over me having a different opinion to you, what’s with the aggro? I was fully aware of his “achievements” before you went on Wiki, chill out mate

If we ever get to the Prem and stay there then I will no doubt be annoyed that we haven’t made the Champs league places! I always want to strive for more, just staying in the prem doing nothing and winning nothing, like Hughes has done, is not for me, it’s dull, what’s the point of it, If you like or rate Mark Hughes that’s fine, I don’t mind.

James Tavernier and Ryan Kent!

You can say what you want about the standard of Scottish football, but playing against Dortmund in front of 40k fans and that atmosphere and doing the business has to be respected -
Just watched some of the highlights of Rangers European cup run and was nice to see 2 City ex Loanee’s playing a big part (we taught them all they know ?). I know Kent was rubbish for us but he played great in the 1st leg v Dortmund and Tavernier scored the pen last night in front of an amazing crowd at Ibrox, what an atmosphere, I guess they don’t miss their time with us anymore than we miss them!
-
Just remembered it could have been 3-1 against 10 men, but within a minute it was 2-1 10v10! Crazy
-
Sheff Wed away was it when we had a pen to go 3-1 up maybe? Tomlin missed it, hit the bar, O’Neill dived in and got sent off, we lost 3-2!

Thanks for the stats, I was aware of what he’s done (or not done) but it’s nice of you to help re-affirm my original position that I don’t rate him. If you are impressed by his CV of winning nothing, and keeping teams in the Prem then that’s up to you, but that doesn’t constitute being a great manager in my book. I think I will cal him Meh Hughes from now on, he’s just Meh as a manager, if he was our manager I’d think “Meh”

I never rated him as a manager and didn’t quite understand how he got some top jobs in the past but this is certainly a fall from grace, shows how tough the old manager game is!

Sunderland fans loving POMO’s and USP’s

Sunderland weren’t on a steady decline though when they sacked him, yes they got dicked by Bolton but they were top the week before and LJ was reigning manager of the month! Crazy decision to sack him -
You’ve got to give something back! In fairness he’s a real nice guy, would love to have a few beers with him and here some more stories from the Arsenal days!

But it’s his dream! https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/09/12/lukaku-on-fulfilling-his-childhood-dream

Not this week he did his hip in last week helping the plasterer! ?

Lowest point of the season…chance to put it right…

Forest at home, 1-0 up at 90 minutes, about to end the record breaking run of no wins, Forest weren’t that great at that point, unbelievable stuff as defo a low point! -
Yeh I’m not so sure it’s more entertaining, but definitely more players are technically better and the football is quicker (although helped by better pitches and boots and fitness levels), but I don’t think there are as many great memorable games pound for pound. For me the peak of the Prem was late 90’s early 2000’s, but then so was everything as I was in my teens early 20’s!

Arsenals David Hillier has been helping build my house extension in the last month!
