Just watched some of the highlights of Rangers European cup run and was nice to see 2 City ex Loanee’s playing a big part (we taught them all they know ?). I know Kent was rubbish for us but he played great in the 1st leg v Dortmund and Tavernier scored the pen last night in front of an amazing crowd at Ibrox, what an atmosphere, I guess they don’t miss their time with us anymore than we miss them!

Just remembered it could have been 3-1 against 10 men, but within a minute it was 2-1 10v10! Crazy

Thanks for the stats, I was aware of what he’s done (or not done) but it’s nice of you to help re-affirm my original position that I don’t rate him. If you are impressed by his CV of winning nothing, and keeping teams in the Prem then that’s up to you, but that doesn’t constitute being a great manager in my book. I think I will cal him Meh Hughes from now on, he’s just Meh as a manager, if he was our manager I’d think “Meh”

I never rated him as a manager and didn’t quite understand how he got some top jobs in the past but this is certainly a fall from grace, shows how tough the old manager game is!

Sunderland weren’t on a steady decline though when they sacked him, yes they got dicked by Bolton but they were top the week before and LJ was reigning manager of the month! Crazy decision to sack him

Forest at home, 1-0 up at 90 minutes, about to end the record breaking run of no wins, Forest weren’t that great at that point, unbelievable stuff as defo a low point!

Yeh I’m not so sure it’s more entertaining, but definitely more players are technically better and the football is quicker (although helped by better pitches and boots and fitness levels), but I don’t think there are as many great memorable games pound for pound. For me the peak of the Prem was late 90’s early 2000’s, but then so was everything as I was in my teens early 20’s!

If I was in charge, my basic strategy would be: 1) Only buy players from other clubs who are under 25 2) Sell ANY player who doesn’t sign a new contract (so that they don’t leave for free) 3) Ensure youth players are given a chance before buying 4) Never break the salary cap for anyone!

I remember my great grandad only had a black and white tv and loved watching the snooker! Sky and BT and whoever else who show Prem or Champs League arnt getting my money to keep the gravy train going!

Not having Sky I forget the Champions League is even a thing to be honest, it’s a complete contradiction in terms with 2/3rds of the teams not being Champions at all!
