  1. My first season as a fan was the promotion season under JJ 89/90, I assumed it would always be as good, how wrong was I!
  2. So no fix or shadiness then, just incompetence!
  3. Im pretty sure they are not chanting ‘Bristol’s a shithole’ because they actually think it is, it’s just a chant
  4. Liverpool easily could have had a couple more pens that weren’t given, so what does that say about a conspiracy? The reason the best teams get more pens is they are in the other teams box a lot more, that’s it, no conspiracies
  5. Artic has Bears, Antarctic no Bears! Origin of the Name "Antarctica" Antarctica means 'no bears'. It is true that there are no bears in Antarctica, but the name comes from a Roman version of the Greek word that is antarktike. ... Thus, Antarctica means opposite of Arctic land, “Anti-” plus the Arctic which forms a compound word.
  6. A show pony who rarely puts on a show!
  7. What’s weird is why you seem so annoyed by other people wanting to call themselves they/them? Do you even know anyone who wants to be called they/them? If not then why get annoyed? Let go of that anger, be free!
  8. What’s that 3 wins and a draw in last 4 home games! Much better!
  9. ….really good documentary on Netflix about Brian Cloughs first few years at Forest getting promoted, winning the league then the two European Cups Definitely worth a watch, an unbelievable achievement for a small club, can’t see that ever happening again. I also spotted the Dolman stand in one clip!
  10. It’s only to say they found 2 cases of this South African variant and to remind people to get jabs etc etc they arnt going to announce a lockdown or anything
  11. I was in Lynton in Devon this week, and drove past a sign for a painter/decorator called Mickey Bell!
  12. With respect, many clubs have had nice new stadiums and have also been successful, for me the AG renovation has had absolutely nothing to do with our fortunes on the pitch. I remember us being pretty crap in the old AG for many seasons as well. For me its all down to managers and players, and we’ve sold too many good players, bought too many bad ones, and not got the manager appointments right. On the training ground, the name is definitely ridiculous and sends the wrong message to players and fans. It’s all very well calling it HPC when things are going well and you’ve had proven success, but when it’s not going well you become a laughing stock. If I was NP I’d be requesting a change to the name ASAP, if only for a physiological boost.
  13. 60m in 3 years but we brought in most of that money selling the Crown Jewels we already had
  14. Blackpool, Luton, Millwall to name 3 seem to be coping ok with similar restrictions, all I’m hearing is excuses, I’m not asking for promotion this season, I’m asking for improvement after 30 odd games of being manager, that’s not too much to ask.
  15. So by that rational LJ must have been a genius of a manager to do what he did, don’t you agree? I think budget is irrelevant, Nige has had 30 odd games and we are no better than when he took over, in my view that’s enough time to show some shoots of recovery, especially for a guy of his experience
  16. You really think Pearson’s budget, comparatively speaking, is tighter than Barton’s budget at Rovers? Really? All I’m stating is facts, Barton unbelievably has managed to cobble together a team with no money who has started winning, I don’t think it’s much to ask that Pearson, after 30 odd games and the end of last season to work out what needs doing, to start doing the same, especially considering his experience
  17. I posted this on other thread as well. It’s amazing when you compare Joey Barton’s record at Rovers compared to NP’s at City. I think they took the jobs about the same time, Barton took on much more of a basket case IMO with arguably one of their worst squads ever, and he seems to, against all odds, have started to get a tune out of them (albeit in League 2), whereas NP is way more experienced and to date has a worse record than Joey Barton, and there’s no way anyone can tell me we were in a worse state than Rovers. I hope NP turns it around but he should have some idea by now of what to do surely, and if not will he ever? it’s not beyond the realms that we could get relegated, especially based on form over the last few seasons. And League 2 is so tight with so much dross, it doesn’t take an amazing side to get promoted, so that massive gulf you speak of is not as massive as you think it is

  19. What a ridiculous response! Just don’t give him a score if that’s the reason, not a 2 and then also comment ‘another awful appointment’. Even if he didn’t go I assume he was aware we got promoted which is quite rare in the last 30 years!
  20. I appreciate he didn’t get us promote, as mentioned in my post, but I enjoyed the football we played in his time at the club. I’d rather we played great football and miss out than crap football and miss out! NP is easily on course for one of the worst managers we’ve had in 30 years, but I hope he’s as good as I think he is and will turn it around but it’s not going to be easy!
  21. But for me as a fan I enjoyed the Danny Wilson years, football was entertaining, some legendary City players in that era too, great times even if we never got over that playoff finish line. For what it’s worth, my top 5 managers since supporting city from 1990 are: 1) GJ 2) Joe Jordan 3) SC 4) John Ward 5) Danny Wilson Worst 5 managers: 1) Steve Coppell 2) Tony Pulis 3) Big Fat Benny 4) Tinnion (sorry Brian!) 5) SOD (the football was awful but he did lay some ground work for SC) Crazy that Pulis and Coppell were successful at the top level elsewhere but couldn’t do it here.
  22. Maybe LJ and Ashton were not appreciated as much as they should have been? I’m not a lover of either particularly, but just looking at where the club is since they’ve departed. Everyone wanted them gone because we just missed out on the playoffs for a few years and the football was bad to watch, but we were never worried about relegation. Reminds me of the Danny Wilson era in as much as we kept just missing out on promotion so got rid, and it took a number of years to find the cohesion again.
  23. WE? You don’t speak for me or everyone else either
