  1. yes and the player is in an offside position and walking back into the GK nearly stood on the keepers toes and clearly effecting A. the keepers ability to make a save B the keepers vision. its not offside once its offside twice if this wasnt offside i dont know what is. Once the ref sees it on Var he can see its a . massive offside a lord of offsides. pundits dont seem to know the laws of the game poor for the big money their on time they sat some tests on the game!!
  2. Good to see some young have been very young first time I went to Tilburg in 2008.
  3. Goes to two people Elko De Jong who visited Bristol and the late great man Scooter. Some went over there with Elko to watch Willem II some came this way to watch City. In 2008 more came over for a City game and Scooter took 28 over for a trip and that grew from there with Scooter doing more trips which became popular to groups sometimes 100+ and now our kids go.
  4. The contact was initiated. It doesnt matter. it immaterial here how Gordons leg got there under the lotg Phillips cant smack the players leg away from him there. its careless play and a penalty is the correct decision. No pop the offence you would be looking at would be impeding. If Gordon has made no attempt to play the ball and that is subjective Phillips still cant give him a whack. The picture on here shows Gordon isnt in a position to block his opponent slow him down and hes a right to that position under the laws of the game. Both payers are in a playable distance of the ball and for impeding to be an offence one has to block the other or slow them down, one player has to be away from a playable distance and that cant happen when both players are there in that playable distance. You might say Gordons leg is in the way doesnt matter its in a legal position as per lotg close to the ball Phillips cant whack it and he does!! I rarely post this much so will be off till early next week if you have a ?? i will give it a go then.
  5. impeding with contact is a free kick or in that case a penalty. as said if i to give a penalty or send a player i have to be sure. i see 100% a foul outside the box that probably carries on into it/ the leicester players hands comes off on the edge = i am not 100% its inside so I go back to what i know i have seen and a free kick and a booking.
  6. To give a penalty i would have to be sure. I think its a foul outside the box and a booking for stopping an attack instead of denying a clear goal scoring opportunity and a sending off as Conway doesnt really have the ball under control, On the pitch I would look at the assistant who should be on Leicester's last man and who wasnt flag up. So if not sure with the assistant not flagging leave it alone but if i am seeing that free kick and yellow.
  7. its not a trip your saying its the same and with respect fella thats not how you ref you apply the laws to each different separate incident. if you watch the clip of Phillips and Gordon there is no trip!! The only contact is? Phillips smashing Gordon. Clear 100% foul you cant kick a players leg away.
  8. I am a qualified low level ref and there are a couple more who post on here. Number two all day long stonewall gospel penalty. I cant thoroughly remember the rest. if you had links to them all I would give it a go, i just apply the laws the handball law i dont agree with and might not apply it to kids football but follow if it for the rare adult games i do.
  9. Watched a clip of it and its a different sketch your seeing a lot from a still picture fella and its a foul. The foul is there in the picture you cant clout a leg whether your looking at it or not hes not clearing the ball hes clearing a shin. Not trying to be rude and disrespectful but your going end up having a law where its legal to kick a player and not the ball!!
  10. no. you cant crack a challenging opponents leg and not make contact with the ball. no situation is exactly the same but the laws should be applied evenly and frequently you cant make a high level of contact on an opponent and win the ball as its endangering an opponent even if accidental.
  11. Give the ref sin bins for tactical fouls. the bins would have been busy.
  12. In a kids game I will let things go when they feel unfair and i will tell managers do you really want me penalising that?? But this is adults and pro football the laws are clear very clear black and white the opponent Phillips hasnt brushed or tapped Gordon hes cracked his leg away and totally missed the ball what i feel doesnt matter as the law takes my emotion and feelings out of it. nothing to debate its a stonewall foul!
  13. Phillips wasnt running down the touch line with the ball at his feet and its not similar with respect Phillips kicked an opponent when trying to clear a ball he wasnt in possession of and made no contact at all with the ball so its a foul on Gordon.
  14. There is no way Philips had any intent to endanger Gordon and i didnt say there was i was putting it around the other way as would there be any reasons here not to give a penalty like Gordon PIADM playing in a dangerous manner and its a no for me. On espn yesterday this one was on there and the ex pros totally disagree with you but the laws are if a player has no view of a player and he kicks him its still a foul and If a player indulges in gamesmanship and an opponent kicks him its still a foul .
  15. We can disagree and you say Gordon is attempting to instigate contact but Phillips kicking his leg would still be a foul.
  16. There is a part of law that can be applied for impeding to delay block or impede an opponent but I dont see it for this one. Gordon is attempting to win the ball misses it and his opponent so Gordon gets there fractionally first and Phillips whacks his leg. Theres also playing in a dangerous manner and is Gordon endangering himself or the opponent! Its unfortunate for Phillips feels wrong because hes unlucky but you cant kick an opponent. Theres a food mixer of things going on there and in real time i dont see all that but with the replay i can its still back to you cant kick an opponent.
  17. I ref a bit and theres no law in the game that allows kicking an opponent. The second is a penalty.
  18. if you dont know that proper means good great and dont know what a bloke is yes it is. you do though.
  19. George the forty foot St George being bought twenty odd years ago also is not recent and Bristol City lads with St Georges at Italia 90 thirty odd years ago aint recent either this is a long standing tradition that is still going on with our kids carrying it on.
  20. he was and proper blokes raised two grand for that flag and more later to repair it not that this poster would remember it because he was a nipper when it was done. Good to see it still surfing recently. he was and proper blokes raised two grand for that flag and more later to repair it not that this poster would remember it because he was a nipper when it was done. 21. looks like like a tradition an history there England fans unified behind the St George if the second ones v Croatia we could be not unified behind the South Bristol flag anymore because dirty Croats pulled it down a deck and nicked it!!! wouldnt take ages to find England fans with St Georges would it? big tradition?
  22. That literally was not a flag for Scooter he helped raise the money for it with the old SC twenty odd years ago!!!
  23. He doesnt know why England fans carry St Georges and thinks its recent!!!
  24. Read it again and that St George flag and St Georges are part of our footballing culture and traditions something you our culture warrior mate to laugh at and look down but important to many.
  25. massively cheaper on the train with british rail and no having to pay in advance couple of quid return to london. Saw City at Southend 3000 maybe there on on a friday stayed over (Cooper sacked) train to London with 20+ City fans to see Arsenal Forest pay on the gate league cup semi on saturday for £1 on the North Bank and 50000 + crowd. Barely afford a drink now.
