Thanks again.. I also don’t think for one minute that Whitaker would sign for us, and although I’d welcome it I don’t think that he’s the level of player that we must sign. My thoughts are more that we should be shopping for a couple of players ‘like’ Twine and be prepared to spend some relatively higher levels of cash to get them. The current nest egg with the current levels of ambition will last for decades.

Thanks Mr P.. certainly a lot for me to consider there for sure. But in a nutshell, after securing FFP order by the sale of a proven young striker, if a championship club can then sell another prized asset for £20m+ and potentially one more for another £10m? Surely we can bring in a player for £12m or so if we were inclined to do so? I’m sure a more forward thinking owner could find a way to do so within the rules of FFP.

Although we played quite well and had our own chances I though that if it was not for Max we could have easily lost by a couple against Leicester. So perhaps more lucky than clever? However, although the first 30 minutes yesterday was pretty ordinary we did get on top and finished the half the better team.. I was very impressed with the triple sub’s then made at half time, especially as we had battled to get ourselves on top.. Thought we clearly deserved the win and in no small part due to the bravery of the mangers subs. So, to be fair, now is not the time to get too high or too low albeit after these two great results.

JL and BT would be beside themselves if we can eclipse last seasons league placing and points total.. We’ll be 100% trying to win every one of the last six remaining games.

We’ll probably sell Tommy for a decent fee too which would in effect result in pretty much a straight swap if we really wanted to sign a player like Whitaker. We would have been better off having TGH sit this one out as a loanee and having Andi available for us for not only this game but all the other games he has missed for us since his loan. When we can’t get anywhere near filling a matchday bench it seems ridiculous that we let the club captain go out on loan,especially to a team who were occupying one of our ‘top 6’ positions . There again, ridiculous just about sums us up at the moment.
