  1. I had a read of their forum on the journey home and was a little surprised at how negative they generally were about their performance. I came away thinking they were good and a level above us.
  2. I went to that one as I remember driving there - I rarely drive to games so it sticks in the memory. Watford would normally be one of my "local" games that I would put in the calendar but being Boxing Day with no public transport then I'm not sure. If it's POTD, and family commitments permitting, I could be tempted.
  3. I'm with you EA, it is just wrong ! Next some mad people will be saying that they even put tomato ketchup on their Christmas dinner.
  4. Having lived in both places I get what you mean although Southampton wins out due to the amount of green space in the city. The problem I had with Southampton was not necessarily the place itself, but that every time I came back to Bristol I realised how much I missed Bristol. I was hoping this fixture would be on a Saturday and not mid week as I have not been back in a very long time and would be interested in seeing what it's like now. The last time I saw a match there was at the Dell. Anyhow here's hoping we can get a result tonight.
  5. For me that award goes to Brighton at the Amex stadium. On my first visit a few years back there were long queues at the railway station after the game so I took my young daughter into the supporters club. No problem getting in and there was a choice of locally produced pies. Sat down with a pie and a pint watched Sky and eventually got a later train.
  6. I only get to one or two games at AG per season but always get a Clarks pie from the van. Why? Well it's a reminiscence thing - nights out as a youth, teas with my parents etc. My family (who have no affiliation with all things Bedminster) don't understand but I always send a photo of a Clarks pie on the park wall whenever I get one. One day I might get them to understand
  7. I remember from our last visit there that the flats are in the corners of the ground and have balconies that look out over the pitch. You could almost see what they were cooking!
  8. I have done that before but had a more positive response along the lines of " as an existing customer you should not be able to do that, but as we have provided you a quote we have to honour it". I therefore did it again the following year
  9. He's morphed into Davros - which will prove a problem jumping for headers
  10. Did Nuremburg some years ago but that does not open until the beginning of December. Large selection of stalls and excellent bratwurst and gluhwien to keep you warm. Not probably the prettiest square where it's held due to the post war buildings but the city still has a lot of characterful areas.
  11. I worry the kits will give JL ideas!
  12. I want the extra pack of wolves
  13. I live in the same South Park - have not been down to see a game in a long time. I see wiki says he's only played one game since 2020 so not a regular. The local primary school changed it's name from South Park years ago due to the nature of the cartoon series!!
  14. I was thinking the same. If at every game there was vocal support for NP the message should get across. The devil in me also thinks there should be a similar amount of vocal comment on what does JL actually do.
  15. Stayed over in Leicester after the game last week and went to Mowgli's. The food is not your usual Indian fare and the dishes are smaller, which is good in my view as you can order a greater selection of interesting dishes. All was good, tasty and reasonably priced. It was though quite a "fast food" type establishment with all our dishes being delivered within a matter of minutes and lingering not encouraged. If you want to take time I'd suggest ordering in stages.
  16. I'm no Ricardian but just interested in the history. The battle of Bosworth hung on William Staley's intervention and could have gone either way, history's view might have been very different if Stanley had sided with Richard. I believe a lot of the Richard III enmity is possibly down to Shakespeare. Caveat - I'm no historian
  17. Thanks - good info. If this goes viral they might regret it!
  18. This will be this seasons "new" ground for me. The last time I went to Leicester away was to Filbert Street back in 77 or 78. The only memory I have of it is whilst waiting to get through the turnstiles being kicked in the head by a copper on a horse. Hope tomorrows better
  19. Whether he was guilty of this is not proven. A good easy read is provided in a modern day (well the 1950's) assessment of the evidence in "The daughter of time". It's quite a short book so not too taxing. More info here - The Daughter of Time - Wikipedia
  20. Me and Mrs RR are staying over to visit the museum (she refuses to go to the game though!) - unfortunately the cathedral is currently closed so you cannot visit the tomb of the car park king. Having been to Bosworth a few times (I used to live in Coventry) I am quite interested in this.
  21. No he won't. The person who will commentate on our premier league games is an unknown entity currently at primary school
  22. Well said - let alone SL's general absence, what words of wisdom have we heard from JL since last seasons "we should be doing better" comment?
  23. Recently had to renew my car insurance and the initial auto renewal was 25% higher than last year - I thought that was high but soon realised that increases are across the board this year. Unfortunately though I had to inform them a a minor transgression (3points for speed camera) and they whopped it up by 70%. Despite saying that I would look elsewhere they were not interested in discussing a reduction. So I went elsewhere and got it back down to the 25% increase. House insurance comes in next month and not sure what to expect from that now.
  24. Hi. I have picked up tickets at away games a few times (even Millwall before) with no problem. Just need to hang around if the coach is later than expected.
