As both Ole didn't mention it, and the Sky highlights didn't show it, I guess our penalty shout was a little optimistic? At the time I was thinking how quickly a game turns from possibly being 3-3 to instead 4-2. Clutching at straws I suppose.
Ha. ha....yes but it's a fictional thriller related to the gunpowder plot and a catholic group set in Bristol. The tsunami bit is not a hidden surprise!
Interesting comments on this thread. I am at the other end of the age scale and thinking about retirement and a possible move back to "the homeland".
However the house prices in Bristol are high and despite living in Surrey it does not look like there would be any "spare change" in a move. I am also aware of the traffic and public transport problems which are really putting me off. Have thought about other locations on a train line into Bristol.
Wish I'd watched this.
I had a book for Christmas called the drowned city which is based in Bristol during the tsunami. I have not yet read it so no spoilers.
My grandad used to use that and I remember even as a boy struggling to understand some of what he said.
Strangely this came up today at work when a Scottish colleague was asking me about Bristolian and dialect words. Unfortunately having left Bristol at 18 my once strong south Bristol accent has faded and reliant on alcohol to bring it to the fore
Any good you tube links as I was thinking of sending some to her.
That thought crossed my mind that last season but there were other reasons as so many were going to be out of contract. If that is the case this season the we really are doomed.
The lack of crowds and toxic atmospheres last season meant they had it easier, hopefully they won't get such an easy ride this time around.
I'm not sure it does but I'm not sure how I feel either. Every capitulation just seems to bring out a feeling of despair at the mess we seem to be in. What with last season's abject performance's it just seems to be never ending.
As others have said I'm not sure I have much enthusiasm to spend time and money watching them at the moment. It's a sad state as post covid lockdown I was really excited for the season and getting back to watching them.
Call me old fashioned but there was no goal scoring opportunity in the offing - the ball was moving away from the penalty area but then it's 1-0. Just seems disproportionate punishment to me.
