It happens fairly often now that clubs buy players at the value of the release clause, and was happening long before we bought MT.

The release clause is confidential so long as the player wants it remain confidential. Once MT decided he was leaving the agent was free to disclose said information to any interested clubs.

The fact they reported us to the FA just screams bitterness and I can never decide which is more funny between that incident and when they reported Wycombe after they were relegated out the football league.

    Pathetic.

We never heard the result on the FA investigation. I wonder why that was ?!

And you would be totally wrong.

I am actually more than happy with the position that we find ourselves in, in fact i'm ecstatic, I would have been happy with a mid table flirting with play offs position, because it would have been an improvement on last season and any improvement means we are moving in the right direction, but so far this this season LJ and the players have totally exceeded mine and I suspect most peoples expectations.

To be honest even the Villa result didn't phase me too much because that's BCFC and a result like that is always around the corner and some of us could see it coming, I was more upset with the Wolves result because we should have gotten a point from that game all day long, the only other game that pissed me off was Birmingham away, we were poor for most of that game against an incredibly poor side, the Norwich game I can forgive because we were tired and I think it showed up our need for a right back and for striker cover.

So please it's not about glasses full, half full, half empty or empty, I am stating my opinion and looking at the game from a realistic stand point given the circumstances of both teams, I have highlighted the most important part of my reply because of course given our season so far we could quite easily upset the form book again and I totally hope that we do but I am expecting a defeat.

Agree with you fella, I fear tonight could be another Villa score line . I hope I’m wrong , and the weeks rest will have benefited us.

They just don't like the truth. Taylor was going to leave them, he was out of contract but out of some weird loyalty to the club signed a new contract with a release clause so that Rovers would get some money from him leaving. The Gas forums and twitter all mentioned his contract and a few times those ITK said about the 300,000 release fee - so the only people to blame for that being in the public domain are the Rovers fans. As for the last day, that was their fault as well, we approached them, they said they would get back to us, some time later rejected the offer. They then had to be reminded that if the release clause was met that they had to inform the player - yes,  Rovers did not understand how release clauses work, and had rejected our offer without informing Taylor because they did not want to lose him - they really are tinpot. Anyway the lateness of his departure would not have happened if Rovers were actually on the ball.

What I don’t understand, why post on a team’s forum that has no link to either the player, buying or selling club.

Some people clearly have more time on their hands than they should be allowed!

Haha someone on there thinks that us losing to MANCHESTER UNITED would be something they could take the piss about! Yes my fellow Bristolian, you take the piss while we count the cash and move on to the important games in our season.

The money generated from tonight’s game , could enable us to bring a player in on loan which we may not previously have had the funds for , wages etc.

That signing could push over the line this season. Complete tools

I normally am but for some reason I’m remarkably chilled. We will lose games this season and if we lose tonight I done think it really makes a massive dent on our ambitions.

Not a free pass by any means and I want to see us give a great account of ourselves, but I don’t think it’s a pressure game.

Enjoy it fella, our football club has come a long way both off and on the field. We’re a good team, good enough to finish top six, who knows? I’m enjoying the ride

Still can't call it. Groves has definatley improved.. but Jnr is so quick - just might not have the power.

Will this be on ITV box office ?

I don't think we can underestimate how crucially important those 3 points were for us today and tribute must go to you and the rest of the City fans at the game; what a fabulous noise you made so take a huge bow mate because you WERE instrumental in getting City back in to the game and once that first goal went in it was virtually all one way traffic.

Come the end of the season we may look back at this result and say this was the day that not only did we sack the Ruskie but it was when we stayed comfortably in the play off zone instead of looking over our shoulder.

For me quite probably the most satisfying result of this campaign so far.

It shows the character in the side and whilst I’m not his biggest fan credit to Johnson for making the changes.

Hoprfully this result can re-kick start us, as daft as that sounds considering  where we are in the league. We have a tough December, and with a deplated squad.

But today is what we all love about the game.

Just goes to show that it's not just the local press that failed to investigate the actual status of their owners, Garth Crooks suggesting that he could have bought "any club in the Premiership" is just laughable. I am sure that this forum had already identified that they were nowhere near that wealthy, but once again Wael seems happy to let the myth persist with his self deprecating reply.

Why didn’t you buy Bristol City ? !!

Because , he couldn’t afford to was the correct answer

I think i'm a little harsh because I don't like his manufactured personality.

I feel he's not actually the "nice guy" Sky and Hearn would have everyone believe and it comes out sometimes in interviews. His old name was 'Big Femi' when he was a tearaway and I feel that side of his personality is still dormant in him and comes out.

I find his media personality a bit wooden and false but he's shoved down our throats because he's incredibly marketable.

He looks the part, his knockouts are explosive and he's becoming very well known. He's the perfect cash cow for Hearn and Sky and people who don't really follow boxing apart from big fights will always buy his tickets or PPV.

I give him full credit for the Wlad fight, was a great fight and a good solid win. I feel that Wlad was on the wane though and had it happened a few years earlier, Wlad wouldn't have let him recover when he wobbled AJ.

It's such a shame he's not in an era of particularly strong competition. I think the only people who'd trouble him are Wilder (his unpredictable power), Povetkin and a fully fit and firing Tyson Fury. I suspect Hearn will try and get the Fury fight made as soon as Fury is licensed and fit but before he's ready - he'll know Tyson is a genuine threat and I think a fully fit 2015' Fury boxes circles around AJ.

Agree with what you say about AJ. At the moment he is the British media’s darling, I fear a little for AJ because as we know the British media love nothing better than to build them up to knock them down. AJ clearly has a chequered past, to be fair he hasn’t hidden it , I just wonder whether they are a number of skeletons in his closet that will come out, his fall from grace could he quite brutal
