Has to be the most random signing ever hasn’t played a great deal of games in Belgium either, haven’t even heard of the club we’ve signed him from! No clue if he’s any good so will be an interesting one.
Was in Man City’s set up and a very good player by what I have seen

Breaking: City sign Dire Mebude on loan
There's our mystery attacker with Dire Mebude joining on loan from Belgian side KVC Westerlo on loan until the end of the season.
No, he's not a household name and, no, he's a 6ft 4in striker but based on the footage that's out there of him during his time with Manchester City, the boy can play.
Whether or not that can be transferred into the Championship remains to be seen but it's kind of an interesting little signing.
Mebude left City last summer to move to Belgium, where his older brother Dapo is based, in the hope of earning more senior game time.
Looked at a few clips of him playing at Man City and this lad looks a good player

Emotion will also feed poor decision making. The more emotional we become the poorer our decisions frequently will become. Footballers need to engage their intelligent minds more rather than the primitive.
100%, it can change the thought process and lose the periphery vision of what’s happening around them on the pitch
The very best players channel their emotional reactions in a way that lifts their performance levels even higher
Not my words but a sports Psychologist I know who has worked closely with Premiership clubs and professional rugby players

Under 24 so I’m guessing there will be compensation due.
It would be a lot less versus a fee and apparently loan back for rest of the season
Our midfield is going to be decent next season and I like what the club are doing by going out and buying young talented players that will not only increase in value but also bring a lot more energy, drive and ambition as well as talent

Can’t think we’d be willing to pay the sort of money Derby would want.
They will take what they can as Bird is OOC in the summer

If he does come in, I’d say that all but confirms Williams & James are off in the summer
I would be surprised if both went as I think Williams may get an offer to stay as we will need some experience to go with the youthful midfielders we have in the squad

Max Bird: Derby would need 'mind blowing offer' to let midfielder leave - Paul Warne
He’s the Manager not the Finance Director, money talks!!

Must be two coming in surely. Wonder if we put in a bid for bird to test derby and next thing the deal is on
Hearing the same that we are trying to bring in two before the window closes, one is an opportunity to do business before the summer as the player will be OOC in the summer and they would like a fee rather than lose him on a free
Other is a loan

He’s a destroyer of other teams and his press triggers others
Being made captain and also being an international for me speaks volumes as to his standing within the squad/team
sometimes it’s about the sum of all the parts and not individuals that make winning teams
For me, he is one of the first on the team sheet along with Dickie & Pring

What a soft goal to concede

And it says likely to be two weeks.
So it's very much wait and see.
Sykes was meant to be 2 weeks and he’s been out at least 3 weeks now

Quad strain is usually 4-6 week’s recovery
Quad tear is 10-12 weeks recovery
Bit of a disaster either way
Can we send him back and get someone else in before the window closes?

Not a bad incentive for the replay and a possible 2017 league cup deja vu

Looks relatively placid compared to some of our derbies
LDV versus the Gas was worse tbh

Kicking off big time in a few areas of the ground and police struggling to gain control

All kicked off around various parts of the ground after Wolves 2nd goal
Players gone off and police struggling to regain order
Derby day in the Black Country!

I think we are much more of a threat away from home as we can break fast and not have to try and break teams down
I am fairly confident we can win the replay

Nigeria v Cameroon tonight
Senegal v Ivory Coast Monday
Senegal should beat Ivory Coast so Willy Boly, Serge Aurier and Ibrahim Sangare should be back for the replay.
I don’t see them being brought back into the squad straight away tbh
They will probably be given a week to recover as is usual

I thought RM was brought in to play the RB/RWB role in place of Tanner. I have no problem with Tanner as a defender as he is excellent at just that but I think RM & Sykes on the right side gives us something extra and better options
Having a balance on both sides with aggressive attacking options gives us more threat albeit we still need to improve our goals scored record and hope we can bring in an additional forward before the window closes
Dire Mebude signed on loan - CONFIRMED

For one so talented and getting player of the year 22/23 to signing for a random Belgium team seems a strange career decision. If he was badly advised and now hoping to get back into main stream English football than hopefully his talent will make him and us a better team.
We don’t have a player like him who has raw pace & skill so I’m looking forward to see where he plays and how he adapts to our style and the Championship
