Exactly and if they both aren’t ready are we just stockpiling 10’s for the future

Maybe he’s not just a 10, Widdrington made it quite clear that he can play any position in that attacking front 3 or midfield 3 as he’s so intelligent with his perception and awareness of the game

Thinking only as far as Saturday, I'm guessing McCrorie won't have done enough to get a start and I'm not sure Sykes will be fit , but possibly something like this ?
I could see TGH doing a Brownhill type role if Sykes isn't fit.

Assuming McCrorie came through PNE with no reaction to his 15 min cameo and he’s trained well this week then if Tanner starts tomorrow v WHU then I could see him starting Saturday

Sykes if 100% fit will in my opinion start Saturday also

  3. So, with the permanent signing of Murphy,TGH and the loan of Twine added to previous signings of Sykes, Mehmeti & Knight, this looks a talented group of young players

Does Manning start benching James & Williams more regularly and play the young guns and get some pace and enthusiasm into the team or not?

We needed a refresh in the team and with Weimann gone and James/Williams contracts up at the end of the season are we now seeing a new dawn with more pace, creativity and attacking flair?

I don't see our season as over but i also don't see us making the playoffs. I don't think we have the quality at the moment to be a top six side.

Sometimes it just takes one or two players to make things click

McCrorie back fit & Twine joining could well make us that 5 - 10% better in games and take us on a winning run?

Bit early to give up on play offs but the next 5 games need to get 10 points to keep us interested

The obvious thing for me is that if he starts playing well and we want him guess what happens to any transfer fee.....................sounds like Burnley would not agree a fee with us.

Their player and they can dictate the terms of any deal.

I would like to think we would be able to a deal in the summer if he dies well but I dare say it depends a lot on Burnley’s league status

That is a good point.  Although the caveat is - how much upside does he have at £5m?

If he fires us to the playoffs and promotion (next season) it probably doesn’t matter a jot.  I think some of us think it’s gonna take more than one £5m ability player (whatever the value) to give us a shot.

Twine would bring that creative attacking midfielder but we desperately need a striker who can physically compete but think we also lack that wide player who can also create. Mehmeti still has a lot to improve on

if Atkinson isn’t far away then he would play alongside Dickie for me and with McCrorie now back he comes in for Tanner

A few changes and I don’t think we are far off a good team who can compete at this level

I expect it to be Jason Knight as he has already been Captain in recent games and has previous experience of The Captains role

Knight is the most natural leader I have seen for many seasons. Gives 100% and leads by example, no idea what he’s like off the pitch but for me he is someone we would miss massively when not playing

The only other could be McCrorie as a captain but yet to see his influence but another who looks like a leader and sets an example on the pitch when playing at Aberdeen

In my experience core allegiances definitely don't change. Of the two here as s neutral, interested or not that interested you would go and watch at AG. I know a few where j used to work who certainly didn't have us as their firdt team owing to moving from elsewhere but when they took in some football always us not the other lot.

On the pitch, off the pitch, we are ahead of them and yet we have significant room for growth of, improvement to the matchday experience.

One thing I have noticed is the amount of foreign nationals watching us and coming to games. I have spoken to Ukrainians, Pols, Romanians who love there football and enjoy watching City as their local team. There are also quite a few others from the far east and Asia

Quite a cosmopolitan crowd at AG now, not sure they have quite got a grip of the Wurzels just yet and drink up thee cider 😂

Yes definitely. Also liked his post match, I think he sees the strengths and weaknesses we all do with the squad and I liked how he seems to want to encourage some belief in individual players to be braver. Warming to him and what he says, seems a bit more relaxed with less jargon now.

Loved Pearson because he was the right person to sort us out, give us some spirit in the squad and guide us to some stability without getting relegated. And point out a few home truths. Make no mistake we were in a mess and whatever the qualities of our squad he started putting together they can never be accused of not trying now.

Manning needs time and results, but on their day they look a decent team who can move the ball more than just side to side. We look a little more confident and are showing more intent. Realistically we need two or three players of good quality who can help the squad to turn out more consistent positive performances. Reckon that this season will be a build/development.

Despite the clumsiness of the board in their handling of the whole affair I just hope as a fanbase we can all move on and get behind what is now the present management team whilst still being able to acknowledge the groundwork of the previous regime.

Felt proud of the club, players, management and fans today. Looking forward to the replay. Well done all!

It’s going to take a bit of time and LM has shown glimpses of what he can do with a group of players he has inherited. The current transfer window and the summer window as well as more time with the players will give us more of an idea of where we are as a club and if we have a realistic chance of promotion

Looking at the likely clubs that will be relegated from the Prem this season probably gives us a better opportunity next season as currently we are realistically chasing 6th spot along with quite a few other clubs

I wonder how many we could have sold? I know many SC holders, and no SC holders, myself included that didn't get tickets, our own fault for taking too long but we don't have tickets regardless. I reckon we could have taken 5 figures in all honesty.

Easily would have taken 10k+ if more tickets were available. I just have a membership so no way got a chance for a ticket
