I’ve got a bad feeling we’re going to lose today, but hopefully I’m wrong.
Those 4 points we’ve dropped by conceding late goals against Blackpool and Luton really have created more pressure.
-
Happy with a point in the end. We could easily have lost because Preston looked dangerous throughout and had that spell at the end of the first half when we were on the ropes. Daniel Johnson played well for them today (always seems to play well against us), although he was less effective in the second half.
We created little and didn’t really look like scoring. Massengo stood out, although he looked slightly lost on the right hand side at first. Wells wasn’t on for long but looked sharp.
The ref was poor.
Frustrating that we’re still waiting for that home win, and it wasn’t an exciting performance, but another point gained.

Fingers crossed for a win today. With both teams having changed managers this year I’m hoping the Preston jinx is at an end.

Excellent result, especially because we bounced back from their equaliser (another silly goal we’ve conceded). It sounds like the team showed plenty of backbone.
Three important points.

That stupid loan to blackpool did neither him nor us any favours. That was the time for a run in the side.
Completely agree. He deserved to be given a run based on his performances. I haven’t seen enough of him since then to comment on his form since, but based on posts on here it really seemed to set him back.
-
I thought he played very well in that season a couple of years ago before he was loaned out.
Good luck to him at Hearts.

I didn’t see the game, but that second goal was awful defending from us. We can’t keep giving away such easy goals.

Glad to see that Massengo is fit enough to play. I think he’s going to be a key player for use this season. He was one of the few players to emerge with any credit at the back end of last season.

He never seemed to settle here. For an international player I expected more from him.

Overall I thought we looked decent enough. It took us a while to get going, but we grew into the game and dominated most of it.
Atkinson had a good debut. We pressed them well and looked organised.
Blackpool got behind us a couple of times and the warning signs were there before they equalised.
We look short of pace up front.
Based on today’s game Blackpool are going to struggle.
Gutted about the result. I hope that doesn’t dent the team’s confidence.

I’m really looking forward to getting to see City at AG again today. My kids are excited too. It’s so weird that it’s been as long as 18 months.
With the tribute to TC as well it’s going to be an emotional day.
My prediction: 2-1 to City.

I remember him as being a good finisher, with a hell of a shot, who came alive in and around the penalty area. Not the most mobile of players even then, but a decent goal scorer who I thought at the time was under-used.

Vastly more. IIRC it is something in the region of 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women that have some measurable level of red-green colourblindness. There are a couple of other, more niche variants of colourblindness, and of course many millions go through life without any formal diagnoses, and their only experience of it amounts to a couple of strange anecdotal stories where they got a colour wrong for whatever reason.
When you look at that kind of prevalence, and then look at a male-dominated group of people like a football crowd, then you start to see why I think organisations need to take it a little more seriously. You're probably talking about something like 1,500-2,000 people in an average AG crowd who have some level of the condition. It's not negligible.
I am relatively mild - maybe a 6 out of 10 for severity. I also was lucky and got diagnosed very early in life as my parents are optometrists and so spotted it very early on. Most kids get diagnosed later when it inevitably becomes an issue at school.
Far from it! the red/black thing is really tricky. Don't know about you but when someone edits a word doc and uses red to show their changes...yeh that can be tricky. I always edit and mark up docs using a bright blue.
Yep, me too, I find that really difficult on Word!
I remember being given those colour blindness tests as a kid (the ones with different colour dots and a number) and I thought it was a conspiracy cos all I saw was dots.

And until reading this thread I always thought the Dairy Milk wrapper was dark blue. You live and learn!

I’m colour blind and, like others have said, I don’t really notice it most of the time. In football, though, if City are playing a team in a dark kit I often rely on our white shorts to be able to distinguish between the teams, particularly in evening games. So I’ve always hated it when City wear all red at home.
Similarly, when I play FIFA in City’s all black away kit against a team in all red I find it quite difficult to tell the difference.
I’m glad I’m not the only one!

Do love the River Froome snaking around Eastville. Did it ever flood the ground ? Obviously these days they have the northern storm interceptor just to the bottom of this pic that diverts water under Bristol and out until River Avon but surely before that must of swelled over?
I’m sure I’ve read that both AG and Eastville were flooded in the late 1960s.

Yes! I was in Costa in Avonmeads. I didn’t think the stars would align to send them down, so I only checked my phone towards the end of the game. It was absolutely brilliant.

Yes, we are mid-table. I just meant that at this early stage of the season, with some tough games coming up when points might be hard to come by, it is easy to get sucked into the lower echelons of the table which can have a negative effect on confidence.
