  1. What an absolute stitch up that was. Too many F1 races are decided by race controllers, rather than the skill of the drivers and car designers. They appear to do things deliberately to manufacture controversy and therefore headlines.
  2. Last time I couldn't wait to get to a game was the SC promotion season. Knowing there was a good chance we would be better than the opposition and probably score a few goals was a big incentive to go. So sadly I have concluded that I must be a bit of a glory hunter. Not quite sure how that can be after forty odd years when we have won next to nothing. So to answer the original question, I don't really know but I think the main thing is having a side I think is likely to score a few goals and has some players that excite is the main thing. Both of which are missing atm.
  3. Listening to Nige on RB he sounded as unimpressed as some posters on here. Saying he can't understand players turning down chances to shoot, especially in the first half. Certainly sounds in tune with a lot of comments from the fanbase. I still think he is the man to sort us out.
  4. Only one point behind us but deserving of the sack. Nige is getting a lot more slack from SL. Which isn't unusual for him tbh.
  5. It is nearly panto season after all - oh yes he has...
  6. OK @DaveF I can see you are a fan of his. I don't want to suggest he isn't any good. He's certainly had some good games and for his age has done pretty well. I get that there is more to football than worldie goals and defence-splitting passes. He has energy and effort no doubt. Jury is out on whether he has what it takes to command a significant fee for me though - at this point. It's great winning tackles and intecepting passes but I'm not sure he does that well enough, without other aspects to his game, to attract a bigger club.
  7. I'm not sure Massengo is going to morph into the amazing midfielder some are predicting. He isn't quick, doesn't have a good shot in him. Not a great range of pass and as he never takes set pieces I assume that isn't a strength. I can't see the fuss myself.
  8. We all know that they are bound to scrap PP just before bcfc finally get promoted. Inevitably the gravy train is derailed just as we are about to get aboard. So it won't be in the next year or two, that's for sure.
  9. Do you think pumping long balls at Martin is how Nige actually wants to play? It is pretty boring and old fashioned. Is it just a short term tactic because he thinks the team can't play passing football through the midfield. I truly hope this is only a short term tactic designed to make the most of what we've currently got. If he intends this to be our long term style I'd find that a bit depressing.
  10. I think that may be a case of memory fade over time. He definitely did it with Taylor Moore, along the lines of not being willing to put his head in where it hurts. My general impression was he only did it with the youngsters. Not sure if him keeping quiet over Tomlin was due to cleverness or only having the balls to have a dig at the kids who couldn't stand up to him.
  11. I'm struggling to work out who he could be referring to there. Who is there with niggling injuries not available? All those out, we have been told, have genuine issues. Most of them are 'his' players aren't they? Is it a suggestion they are on the pitch and only going through the motions? That would make more sense I suppose.
  12. What we are watching is really uninspiring football. When we lose as well as playing pi55 poor football then I really wonder why I bother watching. Lansdown has been clear it's his club, he decides the strategy and we're just customers. As a customer I don't enjoy the product atm and am seriously thinking of not bothering to buy it any more this season.
  13. He needs to get Semenyo back in the team. At least he will give us some pace up front. Just playing Weiman and Martin every single game isn't good enough.
  14. Would definitely take a point today. Derby and Hull mentioned as lower placed teams but I don't think those games will be easy either. Hull are on a bit of a run and Derby have a few good players.
  15. I think Swansea's passing game suits Pato better than what we've been playing for the last few years.
  16. Plus he saw nothing wrong in the Preston goal - even though two of their players used their arm to help it into the net.
  17. I agree. I thought the sky pundits were very biased in this case and ignored the fact that Ostigard was also fouling HNM, calling it a blatant penalty.
  18. I enjoyed the win and most of all that we didn't concede in the last few minutes. However it could have been very different if Stoke had taken their chances. We did put in the effort but sat back on the lead yet again. I didn't think we would hold on but we just about sneaked it. Maybe this will help the confidence levels which I feel have been a big part of our underperforming, especially at AG. We could play like that again and easily let in 3 if the opposition are a bit more clinical. So certainly still a very long way to go but maybe green shoots, especially with the young players.
  19. Isn't his contract up in the summer? ?
  20. I'm still in shock seeing a big fat 0 next to bcfc. We need to keep the spirit and effort but get a bit harder to get chances against if we want to see a few more.
  21. I thought Scott did really well, even if he had to do a lot more defending than is probably natural for him.
  22. Unfortuntely I think their assessment has been about right. Stoke should've got two or three by now.
  23. Are we gonna play Williams three times in a week? Much as I want him to play I hope they don't put too much pressure on him and he ends up injured again. If James might be back by the weekend I guess we could plan to rest him then.
  24. I have no stats on it and my perception may actually be totally wrong, however I always feel we score more goals at the South Stand end. So I worry if we aren't ahead and attacking the Atyeo in the second half. At least we didn't lose, even if we didn't score in the second half, I guess.
