  1. Feels like we are in the same kind of freefall as under Holden. We'll have enough time to relegate ourselves this time.
  2. A bit depressing if what we want is a big lump up front to receive all the long kicks from Bentley. I would hope this isn't the vision the Nige has. Not exactly an entertaining style to watch is it. A bit more pace is what I'd like to see up front and out wide.
  3. Tbf some people pointed out Nige has only done well when he had Shakespeare coaching. I'm beginning to worry that's true and he can't pull this off on his own.
  4. What concerns me is we look like a team with no organisation or plan. I'm not sure Nige sees himself as a coach and has dumped the coaches that were here. If Nige doesn't have the ability to get them organised who exactly is going to sort this mess out?
  5. Matty James has really gone backwards since his good early season games. Can't see what he contributed in that half or on saturday. Doesn't tackle, doesn't run with the ball and doesn't pass forward.
  6. Can only imagine there is a concern about HNM's fitness. He was out for a bit after all. Can see no other reason for him being benched after saturday.
  7. Yes - but the point made by the diagram is the Board/DoF should be deciding it. If the manager does it then it will change when he gets the boot. This is where I think SL has failed as he's never had a proper football man on the board. If NP becomes that man long term and stays with a new coach fair enough. Lansdown has never done anything like that before, although maybe he thought he was with the snake oil salesman.
  8. If you read B it talks about deciding on 'a style of football'. Neither of the above has anything to do with that. If you look at Swansea they appointed a series of managers to stick to a certain style of football and eventually got promoted. Not so successful recently but for a few years you knew what type of game to expect from them. We have no consistency in what style of football we want our players to deliver and don't look for a coach who will play the 'bcfc' way because there is no plan on what that should be.
  9. Shouldn't that be 'uh huh'.
  10. Not exactly rocket science is it? Seems to me that I can never remember us having piece B in all the time SL has been the owner. I think he relied upon a combination of himself and the manager e.g. GJ do set this and that's, imo, where we have gone wrong for years. I reckon Ashton thought he was doing it but he isn't qualified to do so. If NP sets the vision now and then gets moved on we are back to square one.
  11. Start with Dasilva on Tuesday and we all know who Brum will be targetting. At least Tanner might get a break. Much as I like DaSilva as a footballer, his height is a massive weakness in a physical league like the championship.
  12. HNM was one of our better players imo. I thought James was pretty poor. His corners weren't great either.
  13. I am not a COD fan but while Barnsley were pushed up to the halfway line we needed someone to run through with the ball. He seemed the obvious choice to me this time, just to stop them camping in our half. Even their keeper was almost in our half, it was nuts that they felt able to do that.
  14. I don't see why we need to make big changes from the Forest team. It wasn't that we played badly or couldn't cope with them. It was a mental attitude problem in the second half, compounded by poor substitutions. NP has to change the team's approach late in games rather than fixate on changing certain players imho.
  15. I think it is a valid point he raised about there being no HoR. When it comes to not answering calls from agents I'm not sure that would be a surprise. If they are anthing like recruitment agencies in the 'real' world I don't blame them. I get fed up with the emails and voicemails I get from them. That's as someone who only recruits one or two people a year!
  16. I'd like to know whether Brentford have a big network of scouts as they have got recruitment right. I'm not sure but had the impression they based it on analysis.
  17. Fact is, even trying to stick to the rules, without SL we actually would be bust now.
  18. BBC temporarily showed he'd scored again for 2-0. They obviously thought he couldn't miss.
  19. https://www.westbromnews.co.uk/2021/10/21/jeff-stelling-predicts-west-brom-v-bristol-city-scoreline/ Seems Jeff's cheese just slid off its cracker.
  20. It drove me nuts that we just sat back for at least the last 20 minutes. Forest fans were commenting that they were doing the same under Hughton and it only changed with him going. Maybe it is due to them getting a few wins and more confidence. Or maybe the tone IS set by the manager. I really don't know the answer. Taking all your attackers off clearly adds to the siege mentality. However, you can't blame NP for that idiotic sliding tackle by Baker. Or the blatant mistakes from the ref. I think I will have to avoid following the WBA game as it currently isn't good for my mental health.
  21. Wait until our usual tanking at WBA sinks in. Could get nasty.
  22. Wish that was true. We gave them so much time on the ball, in our half, it would've been freaky if they hadn't scored in the last 30 mins.
  23. Spot on. If I was a neutral I would've wanted them to score as we spent the whole second half being totally negative. Sorry Nige but that one's on you.
  24. Our passing is generally pretty awful. Forest gradually taking over the game.
