  1. I have hope because we are attacking SS in the second half. For some reason I never expect us to score at the Atyeo end.
  2. I bet Steve is glad he didn't just sit on his HL shares now. They have gone from over £24 a couple of years ago to under a tenner now. We know he has diversified out of HL, not just spent it on Bristol Sport. Still, I believe he still owns something like 6% of HL, so a not inconsiderable loss for him. I'm sure he can still pay his heating bill though.
  3. Everyone knows it and has done for years. Not sure why another report was needed. Just frustrating that nobody will change the obviously broken system.
  4. Apologies, I should try scrolling a bit more before typing ?
  5. I was interested in NP's post match comments to Bristol Live where he said they totally changed the system for defending set pieces. Maybe @Davefevs or one of our other experts on here could give us some insight on that? It seems we were more solid in that regard. Let's hope they have found an answer to that issue at least. Just need to stop giving away goals in the last ten minutes and we're sorted.
  6. The sky commentator pointed out that Barnsley had a very young team whereas ours was about average for the Championship. I think he said their average age was 24 and ours 27. Not fact checked that myself. I appreciate we have a young/old age disttribution which affects the average. However, we certainly can't claim inconsistency due to it being a team full of youngsters.
  7. I'm now beginning to believe the theory that Shakespeare was doing all the coaching at Leicester and Steve Walsh found the players. Leaving you wondering if it was actually just lucky for Nige to have them doing all the work. I can't understand how a decent coach would end up with a consistently disorganised shambles of a defence.
  8. It's interesting that he says the structure made it difficult but that Nige came in and made changes. It wasn't him that got rid of Ashton. So I wonder what he is referring to in terms of structural changes. Perhaps the fact they had too many coaches and no-one knew who did what? ?
  9. Semenyo has been a bit off colour the last two games. Maybe a rest would do him good, as it did for Martin. I would rather experiment in away games though, as the results can't get much worse. At least we have been picking up points at AG.
  10. No chance that FIFA would sacrifice the revenue from the Qatar tournament to keep Russia in. They may just wriggle for long enough though to build up enough pressure in Europe for some change post- Qatar.
  11. About time there was a breakaway from FIFA. If they get this call wrong and leave Russia in the WC maybe that could be a catalyst for something that should have happened decades ago.
  12. How will Ukranian sportsmen and women feel if they have to compete against russian teams or competitors? I think we should be banning Russia from all sports in solidarity but it would be interesting to hear their views. I saw a tennis player saying today he will be going back home and joining the militia. If that is any indication we should be 100% behind a ban. Allowing them into the olympics as ROC was a joke.
  13. We must be in line for some kind of record for goals conceded after the 85th minute. Can't blame that on refs. It's becoming quite tediously predictable.
  14. I think Semenyo would be the biggest miss, due to assists and goals, and is the one most likely to be subject to a big offer. I would keep him for another season at least, as his value is only going to grow and his contract situation allows it.
  15. Just watching Huddersfield keeping Fulham at bay. If only we could defend half as well as they are. Even if only now and again. Pearson should make them watch a tape of this game. How not to concede six to Fulham. ?
  16. This is why I really don't like watching us this season. Hard to get excited about scoring when you just know we are going to crumble. It's got to the point where we'd need to be three up before I had any confidence we might win. How can you enjoy that?
  17. Various posts on here about starting to enjoy watching city again. Really? I agree that Semenyo and Scott can now get you up off your seat at times, which we haven't had for a while. However, week after week we get our noses in front only to resort to sitting back and letting in soft goals. I find it hard to enjoy games when you know we will crumble at the end. Reading was just so painful to watch, even though we scraped a win we nearly didn't. I think we have to give Nige another season and hope it improves. I struggle to see it is any better to watch at this point though.
  18. Well I know summer is always an optimistic time but let's be honest, Nige's signings last summer are hardly cause for optimism. Most are currently out injured and who has really made an impact from those he signed?
  19. Is the constantly awful defending totally down to the standard of the squad? At some point, surely, Nige has to take some blame for failing to sort it out. It's getting tediously predictable now.
  20. There was one occasion near the end where the ball hit a defender and went high into the air. Max seemed to react by retreating onto his line when he could've been braver and tried to catch it. I was yelling at him to come for it. This was only just outside the six yard box. For me that is his main weakness. He doesn't dominate in his area and I would rather see Bentley back in.
  21. Martin and Weiman both poor so far. Williams passing not great either.
