As I have said before I am right on the edge of the standing section and it was good in there today. For a start, it was packed for some reason, hardly a position left. In addition, nearest blocks of both the Dolman and the South Stand were fully involved and included in the atmosphere.
I will be honest i barely heard the “singing section” all game. Thought it was very quiet down there all game considering they are the ones banging on about atmosphere. Might be where i sit but am never impressed by them.

Can we all stop the myth now that the singing section is a fantastic place that generates outstanding atmosphere… embarrassing.

Nah, the easiest penalty ever to give.
I think atkinson didn’t help himself a few moments before by being strong as an ox to shrug off a player as he was strolling forward. Then 10 seconds later he is collapsing under much less contact.

About time Lockyer got his comeuppance
Thought that was cracking from him that day. Got stick all game and gave as good as he got. Many couldn’t handle it but i thought it was class.

We would be saying it was a fantastic goal.
Not a chance. You will tell me that was amazing next

Would any keeper be expecting it?
No but thats where reactions come into it. This place goes into meltdown if bentley concedes that.

And one of the best goals you'll see anywhere, at any level!
What do you say if bentley concedes that?

Sorted that for you

My memory of Pitman was that he was a team player and if in the area with a possible shooting chance but a colleague was in a better position he would play them in unlike a certain striker we have at the moment.
First and last time Semenyo will ever get compared to Pittman

Ok we are 3-0 down so it makes no difference. But imagine a world cup final getting sent off for a 2nd yellow for that. VAR is a shit show but that takes one look and surely that can be over turned.

Palmer wasn't the first 'star' player signed after fans' loud adulation following a successful loan.
I seem to recall a similar situation with Lee Tomlin.
Difference is Tomlin was more than decent on loan. Palmer really didn’t show anything of note.

I never said it was a success, it was just goid to see none of the players or staff hurt etc.
That shouldn’t even need to be said

Well the goals frames are gone but the point being opposition players and staff don't appear to have been harassed or assaulted.
Imagine saying it’s a success because a player doesn’t get assaulted. Lowest of low standards

Nice to see a positive pitch invasion after the last week or 2.
Yeah apart from the peckers breaking the goal posts and the countless smoke flares.

I'd like to see a massive simplification of VAR.
A 3 person VAR review panel get to re-watch an incident a maximum of three times. If the panel unanimously agree a decision was wrong, it's a clear and obvious error and the decision is changed. If the review panel cannot agree after there replays, it is not clear and obvious and the referee's decision stands.
Or just bin off VAR

To be fair to the club there have been multiple emails and you have had all season to use the balance…

It doesn't look good, no, but we are 17 points above Posh, and they're going down, and we're staying up. So, over the course of a season rather than 90 minutes, Nige has delivered! as far as us and Posh are concerned.
You have just set the bar about as low as you possibly could just to force a way in to praise Pearson…. Good work.

I agree that some of the comparisons are with managers who were in a different league but it still doesn’t look good. The old trusty ‘he has a poor squad’ only stacks up when you play a team with a better one…. Peterborough do not have a better squad than us, so that excuse is taken away. We were still pathetic so it’s not all down to the squad. What a day to put in a performance like that when season ticket sales just up for renewal.

What a way to get all the ‘happy clappers’ spitting feathers. How dare you attempt to show Pearson in a bad light

And who on earth is going to get more out of the players we’ve got? Yesterday was a good example of what Pearson has achieved with next to nothing.
Those players deserved a pat on the back!Thats always the answer though. Who else? Thats not what i am asking. Not heard anyone give good reasons to how he has a proven track record. If you don’t know just say that.

I’m not amazed at all how the fans have stuck with him - we’ve got a manager who took Leicester City from league one to the premier league - he spent a whole Sunday at Jamie Vardy’s house persuading him to sign for Leicester rather than Blackburn and he signed Riyad Mahrez for £450k to play for Leicester - Mahrez was subsequently sold to Manchester City for £50 million - Pearson laid the foundations for Leicester City to win the premier league ... I’m sticking with him ... so, who would you recommend we get in as our new manager, willing to work within the considerable constraints whilst trying to build a winning squad? I look forward to your list ...
Ok nobody is denying what he did with Leicester isn’t a big big tick. But you wouldn’t appoint Holloway purely on him taking Blackpool up playing some very very good football. I struggle to see what else he has done to prove he is the man? I am not trying to be argumentative i just can’t see it from his record. I have struggled from day one to see it, so would probably be chucked in the “pearson out” category. I want nothing more than to sign the next vardy/kante/mahrez but we have f all money so can’t see him being able to do it.

A bizarre thread title after a good result and spirited performance today.
I think 3 year plan in some ways was optimistic. It wouldn't surprise me if next season has similarities to this season although from Barnsley at home to present the home form has been much improved. That's a useful foundation.
Then...
A fit
Tanner, Atkinson, Williams, Scott, Semenyo.
All of them have room to grow, age wise. DaSilva, Pring, Benarous too but these players haven't missed much this season, unlike a few of the above.
Also might depend on how many of Massengo, Scott, Semenyo we can retain and if one has to go, how much of the fee can we safely give NP on wages and fees while remaining within FFP.
Lots of variables but why today would provoke that reaction is a bit unusual.
You would still get the same defense of pearson from the same people after the utter s**t show of barnsley away.

What people underestimate imo is that we are in such a shit state that nobody with a good track record and no up and coming manager would touch us with a barge pole.
People say pearson has though?

both Dawe and SL said SC will be a prem manager and then sacked him, then, well see the last years since that great choice of sacking him
Now we have a manager who has done what exactly since 2015 apart from been tried at quite a few clubs and failed.
That last sentence is always in my head. I struggle to get my head around the “great track record” line that gets dished out.

Like i said it might be where i was sat (e33 dolman). The atmosphere was very good today just didn’t seem like it was being orchestrated by the singing section. Might be because everyone around was in better voice than normal.
