It’s very clear to me that Lansdown doesn’t enjoy Nige’s frank & direct approach.
But given the fact that he’s invested virtually zero this summer after bringing in £24m for Scott alone , does he really believe we can be anything more than a mid-table side?
Our whole board structure is a mess right now (no CEO and Lansdown jnr a waste of oxygen). The last thing we need is for SL to dispense with an experienced manager who has the backing of most of our fan base.
I sense a very interesting couple of weeks ahead !
Yes, because Luton got promoted. At least that’s what he keeps saying on the rare occasions he bothers to speak about Bristol City.

Wouldn't say that was Max's fault. I think he was unsighted like @Northern Red said.
He’s hardly smashed it in, just rolls in.
Sorry but it’s really Bad goalkeeping again. Imagine the uproar if Bentley or heaven forbid Fielding was in goal!

If we look at the accounts, the football club wage bill (not just the players) was:
20/21: £30.251m (peak)
21/22: £23.807m (Nige first full season / influence over wage budget) net £6.4m
22/23: not published, but say it was £22.000m - net £8m on 20/21
23/24: not published, but say it is around £19.000m - net £11m on 20/21
That means he’s saved £25m over 3 seasons. The wage budget is now in the realms of 2016/17 season.
That is hardly conducive to gearing up for a top 6 challenge is it. In fact based on historical accounts it puts us around bottom 6-8…Luton territory! The trajectory of Luton’s spend was upwards, ours is downward.
Yours sincerely,
Worried of Downend
Perfect, we have a better squad than they did when they went up
Announce promotion

Looks like there’s a nice little nest egg being put aside for the next manager
Watch this self imposed wage budget rise dramatically when Mr Pearson is moved on!

Anyone kind of interested to see how well reinvest the money.
Not expecting to go out and drop £15m on players but could certainly move the club forward a couple of transfer windows!

Given NP supposedly didn’t like Palmer’s attitude he’s not done too badly making the PO final now with two different clubs both without parachute payments.
Not even close to the truth. Just didn’t fancy him as a player. Big wages and bombed out

Still don’t see it. We have signed Mehmeti to play LW and he can alternate with Bell…..we have Pring as a first choice left back who is progressing nicely. He doesn’t fit the profile that we want.
Have we though?
He has played LW and 10, could be an early Alex Scott replacement!- 1

I think it got to him, the realisation that his life is about to change on a level few of us could comprehend.
Exactly, 19 year old hits a sticky patch of form, probably his first ever, when everyone is piling on the pressure linking him with everyone, winning young player of the year and the club putting out posters of him?!?!
He wasn’t alone, being poor in midfield in the first half. He barely got the ball and all 3 (5 if you include the wingers) of them were over run. No surprise it improved when King was replaced by a more mobile Williams. That’s not saying Weimann didn’t have a good impact but I think Williams mobility helped the team a hell of a lot

Max has been excellent all season. A mistake doesn't change that. Bloody hell, why have we got to leap to "get him in the bin" "drop him" "he's never been good enough" every time someone makes an error? It's bloody childish.
He really hasn’t. The odd good game, a lot of not very good. Occasional the odd good game that ends up with him chucking one in undoing all his good work.

Love it he lets the awful shot slip under him, blames someone else. Full flapper Phillips style.
If he wasn’t an academy product, a goalkeeper would be top of everyone’s list for the summer

Without trying to sound like a grumpy old man...Its not what it used to be.
Best Mate section is just full of coked up young lads, the tent at the back is a dangerous place to be after 4pm and Tatts/ Club is so busy you can hardly move!

Make a move for Jerry Yates the day after the season ends. Please and thanks.
I thought exactly the same seeing him today, looked like he’d be perfect in this current formation! Held the ball up well on the occasions they managed to get it to him.
The miss was bad but confidence is shot.
Bowler was the big disappointment for me, had an awful game!

All these people saying it’s a red, were you saying the same when wells did exactly the same last week?
As for the ref, absolute shite but that yellow was correct.

If he keeps up the current form, could an U21 call up happen before the season is out?
I find it odd he’s not in there already, Mcatee, Doyle & Morton all in the squad ahead of him last time.
Clearly streets ahead of all 3 of them (although I was impressed by Morton last week) guess it’s just because he’s not in a ‘big 6’ club. -
Pearson’s alluded to wanting a ‘forward’ before Semenyo left and hopefully Martin leaving, so you’d have to assume he’d now want 2!
Hopefully both in tomorrow.

Reject 10 mill to accept 9 mill. Some great negotiating there…..
It wasn't 10, it was 8 + 2 inn add ons, this seems to be 9 + add ons.
So at lease £1m more!- 2

Jackson may be set to fail his medical at Bournemouth. If that move breaks down might they try and resurrect?? Transfer window moves on quickly- maybe they'll come back in late and offer higher money.

2 things I’ve picked up in the first 20 minutes…
1. Without wanting to join the Ian bashing, as he’s as entitled to his opinion as anyone else, he’s been banging on for weeks about changing to 3 at the back, exactly what happened Saturday got torn apart now saying it was a stupid thing to do?!?
2. Shat himself to death is possibly the quote of the season.
