  1. The slow, upward trend under Nige continues.
  2. Challis excellent summariser.
  3. Alternative looking table for you Gav. Interesting quotes from Nige that he’d allowed Timm Klose to have the week off to go back to Switzerland to be with his wife / newborn child, but with Atkinson a bit of a doubt, Timm said he’d stay here.
  4. Haha, fair play, good reply!!! ? Young Shearer....in looks at least!!! Quoted purely to see it again!!!
  5. Good hassle from Massengo to win the loose ball, feeds Dasilva who can get his head up to pass inside....but what a slide-rule pass from Scott. Quality finish too.
  6. Is that Nahki Neville and Tommy Riley up top??????
  7. That's not being positive, just reminding people that its how players perform that has a bearing on the result, not OTIB opinion, certainly not before kick-off. I bet the players would love some of our fans in doing the pre-match team talk. Jeez....the doom and gloom!!
  8. Injured pre-season...Sykes has come in at RWB and deserves to keep his place....that's the selection policy in the main from Nige.the same that the same one that went to Preston last season and were brilliant....and should've earned three points bar and injury time equaliser wordy from Riis.
  9. He’s an old teammate of mine’s son. From what I understand from his dad he was on the small side for his age initially, so they (City) were careful with his development. He was initially at Southampton, played with Scott and Acey there. Had a bit of an injury and got a 6 month extension to his scholar contract at the end of 20/21 season to give him a chance to get back fit. Went out on loan to Hallen FC at the start of last season, where he did well (not my words) and club have tried to turn him into a no8 from a striker. Started to force his way into the u23s after Xmas last season, and came in in the PDL final and made a good contribution. Now on loan to Bath City, and will play 23s when able to.
  10. Can’t believe there were floods in Truro yesterday, saw it on the news. We were 5 miles north…and didn’t see a drop of rain, nor a black cloud.
  11. Certainly scores goals doesn’t he?
  12. Assume that with both Kadji and Owers in the u21s this afternoon, we have enough first team midfielders fit for tonight. I would be more worried had both not been in the u21s today.
  13. Totally fair. Final para spot on. ??????
  14. Not this season - was announced last week….no reason given.
  15. Teamwork, anticipation, concentration, etc. Since being back in the champ, apart from a 3 month period under LJ, we’ve rarely looked like a team. That outfield 10 of Wright, Flint, Baker, Magnússon, Brownhill, Smith, Pack, Paterson and Reid knew it’s own strengths and weaknesses and worked tirelessly for each other….but also works efficiently for each other. Most of the rest of the time we’ve looked like a bunch of individuals in the main. Why LJ couldn’t take that team system as the blueprint god only knows. But I don’t want this to be another LJ thread. What we need in 2022 onwards is more power and / or pace to compliment the technical players. When we’ve been more compact back to front this season, we’ve played sone good stuff. When we’ve done the same out of possession we’ve got the ball back quickly. We need to do more of that. Players need to have self accountability and also be able to tell their teammates when they aren’t doing it. Rarely see an on-pitch finger pointing these days.
  16. I honestly don’t know why quick, strong players bother trying to beat an opponent with skill on counter attacks…just knock it past them and win the foot race.
  17. I’ll be amazed if they ask for anything over and above showing your phone. Suspect the reality will be just ticking your name off.
  18. There most definitely is a plan…but execution of that is the hardest bit isn’t it? I really hope we can get through the end if the window unscathed / in tact.
  19. Nathan Jones playing 5122 Holden-ball, according to the above graphic…although Wyscout showing as a more conventional 3412. They will play high tempo….fast and direct. We are more slow and ponderous…at times. I think we have to play in behind their WBs, and for me we need pace up top tomorrow night. We won’t get much change out of Bradley and Burke aerially. Id like to see Pring and Wilson start…and if Massengo not over Tonsilitis (assuming Williams rested), I’d go Sykes and Weimann either side of King, with Conway partnering Wells up top. Of course we’ve no idea whether Atkinson is fit, so assume Vyner / Klose / Naismith. Im guessing no press conference today? So, complete guesswork really!
  20. Haha, he’s looked really impressive from highlights, and i caught sone of his stuff pre-season. I follow Rochdale on Twitter because over the past couple of seasons they’ve produced some good players who I thought were capable of going higher. I’m not saying we should target him, but he’s certainly playing better at this point in time than his career previously has suggested.
