The story was that he already had his medical prior to Austria trip (not that I know).

I can think of two spells when I thought he did….alongside Ashley Williams in 19/20 (due to injuries) in a back four, and between Vyner/Kalas and Mawson in 20/21 (under Holden) in a back three. He might not have been a “first pick”, and I know that he had some games where he got caught switching off, but when paired with a “talker” like Williams he showed he was capable of being a Championship squad member. Imho ?

Just read it too. If you can get a £1pm sub, I think the Athletic is worth it…certainly not worth much more for the average Champ fan. He seems to be just what we want, years of top level playing experience, driven as a coach to improve players, with what appear to be good motivational techniques. I’d like regular updates not just from u23s but u18s too. Now that we consume quite a few u23 matches via Robinstv I’d like to know more about the u18s who break into the u23s. As the u23s are the link to the first team, I just want more!

I know going back some years when Bolton were first getting into trouble and placed under embargo, the limit for new signings was £600k p.a. (£12k p.w) which seemed a lot to me. Last year we heard Reading were restricted to £8.5k p.w. Mr P will confirm if I got that wrong. But that is Champ, not sure if Lg1 restrictions are the same or not. Until we read the lower level details it’s very hard to know whether they’ve gained an advantage or not.
