  1. The sentiment of my tweet, which has a similar vibe to Graham’s post too. How are those firemen and policemen feeling about their underperforming part of their pension fund linked to a Ipswich Town….because it won’t have made any money in season 1, nor will it in season 2 (in Lg1). It’s very unlikely it will in season 3 either (in Champ at best, reckon still be in Lg1), etc, etc. it can only make money in the Premier League, and they are miles away from that…there’s a good chance Gamechanger have pulled out well before that. You are right, where is the representation of the fans, the community, the town, the county of Suffolk? There isn’t any. I find it quite sad for a decent club like Ipswich. The fact that some fans are lapping it up and calling it “leadership” is beyond words.
  2. “Who we represent…..” - a Pension fund. Eff me, he’s lost the plot. Ipswich Town FC don’t represent a US Pension Fund, they represent Ipswich, the Town, the Football Club. The bloke is completely caught up in thinking he’s smarter than he is. This has topped anything he’s ever said in his time with us.
  3. The GBE WP works out on a percentage of time spent in each band in the calendar year prior to WP application. So rough maths based on 7 months at St. Etienne (band 1), 5 months at Pau (band 4): Current club: Pau - band 4 - 6 points Minutes played St. Etienne minutes - band 1 - 687 mins just sneaks him into the 30-39% bracket - 6 points (*7/12) = 3.5 points (rounded to 4 points) Pau minutes - band 4 - 1350 mins gets him into the 90-100% bracket - 6 points (*5/12) = 2.5 points (rounded to 3 points). Youth Debut Band 4 - as he’s u21. 3 points Total - 16 points - PASS Without the St. Etienne minutes he would probably have got 15 points. Clever work if we’ve tracked him from his release at St. Etienne and spent the time looking at Work Permit feasibility.
  4. Without needing to be critical of either keeper, I’d rather re-contract Bents, he’s my first choice. Max is perfect for a no2 - low wages, can stand-in without fear, but imho he’s not as good as Bents, nor will he be…and Bents could be here for ages. I’d rather start to look beyond the current 1-2, and if that means Max having a season on loan, so be it. If someone like Peterborough then could be loan with obligation to buy. As for the French lad….really tough to judge….but if there’s a by-product that Han stays then I think that’s an added bonus. FWIW here’s some video.
  5. Tins is everywhere. The ex-Southampton link looks to be City trying to pick up players who might’ve released prematurely.
  6. Nope, keeper data is very subjective. I have templates but they aren’t really worth using. Sorry.
  7. I can’t be arsed to watch it. He’s living rent free in my head, that’s enough for me ???
  8. Running towards adversity or limping towards the treatment room.
  9. Was there late 90s. Crap snow, lots of rocks and mud to ski over. But cheap as chips for apres ski!!!!
  10. He looks the same, his hair hadn’t changed colour!!!
  11. Ah yes, lovely wasn’t it
  12. From my limited gig experiences, flares seem to be held by the person, rather than lobbed. Not saying that’s better, just different mentaility. Personally I love the smell of pyro, but I also used to like the smell of petrol as a kid too.
  13. The story was no fee, but KP gives up his contract here, I.e. takes the wage offered by Cov with no obligation for us to top it up for the remaining year. No idea if true, just relaying what was reported. Is he still in the Maldives? Is that from Instagram or something?
  14. Nutshell….and the stuff you posted below it to explain.
  15. Forget the two week “holiday” which for a professional player will still involve a daily routine of stretching, exercising, etc…just forget that. Our seasons are workload heavy. Most other leagues play 34 league games, less importance is put on cups, etc. It is possible to go “stale” if nothing else (covering both mental and physical fatigue) from playing and training lots. Happens below pro level too. For info, playing football as a professional is much more than playing 90 minutes once or twice a week, it’s a daily routine of discipline, sacrifice for which the minority are paid handsomely. Comparing it to other jobs and then using the amount of money versus stress as rationale is very naive and without trying to sound insulting shows a complete lack of understanding of the world of professional football, the short career and the stresses that places on a player, knowing that your shelf-life isn’t 40 years of employment (like you or I) in your skilled area, but on average 6-8 years of maximising pay to set you and your family up for a fair chunk of the rest of your life. Do we have have to perform in front of thousands too? Do the media write and comment about you to millions.
  16. That’s what I was suggesting! ?
  17. I’m interested to know whether any players were given an exemption from pre season testing last Friday. Weimann on Austrian duty undoubtedly, but I can’t believe a holiday would’ve been an acceptable reason. So my gut feel is Palmer was allowed because his deal with Coventry is sorted bar the medical, and there was no need for him to report for testing. Lots of 2+2s in that admittedly.
  18. My views above. Others may think differently, plus have seen some I haven’t.
