  1. Anyone ever seen him or Sue Smith in the same room. He is bloody awful, ignorant.
  2. @headhunterisn’t called Headhunter for nothing, great recruitment ???
  3. Do what I do Chinapig - trust good second hand sources!
  4. I’ve still been massively impressed by the “good habits” of Alex Scott.
  5. If the two people who told me what they know are right, then yes. I’m just a messenger (at best).
  6. Amen Brother Rob. Too much dribbling, too much dribbling into condensed areas. Too much trying to roll the ball across their body, which they get away with at age group where they aren’t playing another country’s best players, who are “technically strong”. Same as the other night. At his best in the middle of midfield imho.
  7. I prefer Port Said Red’s source, rather than Jamesbcfc on this one.
  8. Another OTIB poster heard the same as you but from a different source to yours, which is encouraging. I know nothing, but my gut feel from my WP calcs is that he passes….just.
  9. Why, Kasey was never shy of putting a tackle in. He was very committed in the challenge.
  10. He’s 25 now, so beyond the age of compensation.
  11. I forgot my Mark_Ashton.xls Ive updated it: £18.75m in fees on players who left for free.
  12. He does make some decent points at times, but he is agenda based and I’ve never seen a fan so entitled.
  13. Work all summer with a 4231 built on: Webster, Kalas Pack, Brownhill Weimann, Szmodics or Paterson , Eliasson or Paterson Diedhiou Then toss it all up in the air in the week leading up to the season, and then after one game after a defeat v Leeds (and that’s wider than just Palmer). Lordy, Lordy, Lordy. I was comfy to sign Palmer, just the way we did it was wrong.
  14. No, Bristol City FC don’t, but Ashton Gate Ltd does ?, and both those companies are part of Bristol City Holdings…and we do FFP under the Holding entity. ??
  15. Yes, thought he started the season well, then had his dip through illness and injury (back / calf) which seemed to affect his confidence, but came back strong as @NcnsBcfc says.
  16. Question becomes what pedigree of player are you after? We have youngsters developing into the next City CB - Idehen, Towler. We don’t need someone to block them, I.e. we don’t want a squad filler. So do we try and bring in someone of at least equal ability to the main quartet (TK, TK, RA, KA)? At what cost? I’m really not sure how this pans out.
  17. Perhaps the HMRC deal is all of the money but over 10 years or something.
  18. Agree, correlation not causation! ? Good summary ??????
  19. I think you are in the right ball-park. Would love to know what money we make out Elton / gigs this summer, will help 21/22 and 22/23’s revenue positions, which I’ve been cautious on, but starting to feel the need to raise. Cundy will have been on much less than £5k imho….£2k??? If I take RG’s “budget will remain about the same” paraphrased comments, I’d say when Palmer gets announced we are probably just ahead of the curve, but not much. Back to revenues, I’d estimated 26m (21/22), 28m (22/23), 30m (23/24) in a very unsophisticated manner. If they were 30 / 32 / 34 instead, we’d pretty much be ok.
  20. It was always a nothing story. Nobody ever claimed we’d tapped up Kal or anything like that. All Luton claimed was we didn’t tell them we were going to announce it, so they could announce at their end at the same time (as is the common courtesy in this things). We have professionally stayed away from responding. FWIW, I reckon we did tell them, but they’d pissed off early on a hot, sunny, Friday afternoon, and got caught out.
  21. Sensible move assuming it goes through. Would not surprise me if Barnsley offered more higher wages (and longer term) than we did. Good luck to him. I got to see him in a City shirt, which I wondered whether I ever would.
  22. There are different dates, but according to several sources “most international federations” are 10th June. In France Lg1’s case, yes, 10th June. https://www.ligue1.com/Articles/NEWS/2022/05/04/transfers-dates-for-season-2022-23-announced You can of course transfer a player any time, just can’t “transfer the registration” unless the window is open.
