  1. A few observations: Thought they looked sharp in the afternoon with the ball Matty James striding it out in the beep test (or whatever version they call it) Naismith vocal What did Klose say to Naismith right at the end?
  2. Refreshed list: Bentley, O’Leary, Buse, Wiles-Richards. Dasilva, Pring, Naismith, Tanner, Atkinson, Towler (23 - Moore’s number), Wilson (2 - Simpson’s number), Vyner, Moore, Idehen (24 - Cundy’s number), Klose, Kalas. 3. Benerous there continuing rehab Bakinson there too. Will Buse too, following his contract extension.
  4. Yes, EFL are pushing for that. Starting to come to a head me thinks.
  5. Within agreed parameters set by EFL…parameters we don’t know….but I’d be amazed if they let Derby register any new players at this point.

  7. Signed a pre-contract….which of course may never make it out the drawer!!! But, yes, expect that to happen on 1/7.
  8. You can re-contract club developed players within the limits of the embargo.
  9. Buchanan and his agent are disputing that his option has been exercised.
  10. He was taking (helping with) the u18s last season.
  11. I’m sending the end is nigh as an EFL club. Would Ashley or Appleby pick them up (with the stadium) for a small amount and start them in non-league. Morris owned Pride Park would make a nice Baseball Ground for a U.S. team! ?
  12. Although I’ve been bullish on the cost reduction side, I have been cautious on the revenues. 19k average crowd was better than I thought, so I’m still happy overall the gap isn’t that big. As you say a few outgoings and we are making serious inroads.
  13. If they don’t pay wages on time this month (any month for that matter), they face an automatic 3 point penalty as per the suspended terms of the 9 point deduction (Reading have a 6 point suspended penalty hanging over them).
  14. I wonder whether this announcement is significant in terms of the first day of training. Robbie Cundy and Andy King haven’t had their futures confirmed.

  16. Agree. Both. 3 months older than Sam Pearson. 3 months younger than Owura Edwards. 18 months younger than Antoine Semenyo / Saikou Janneh (just picking these two shows the broad spectrum). Callum O’Dowda was allowed to be inconsistent at 26, Jamie Paterson at 29. He also doesn’t make 2-3 serious mistakes per match.
  17. Tore Andre Flo-Ella Benjamin Brian Cant - Rovers fans
  18. Rumour has it that at a game when a fan shouts “Handball”, Jon always shouts “Big Ted” or “Jemimah” instead.
  19. Yes, was linked to Pension. https://www.lawinsport.com/blogs/mills-reeve/item/planning-for-retirement-the-financial-life-cycle-of-a-professional-footballer
  20. It is part of Bristol Sport, something was mentioned somewhere a week or so ago on another thread. As per you final sentence…I believe it is an area where Jon has passion, and BS is helping that. Personally I’d rather he did that full time within BS and relinquished his Chairman responsibilities. I’ve no idea how good he is at the creative stuff, but it does seem to be the area he most enjoys. I would feel very cynical if this was an external business run by JL getting contracts from BS. As it is currently set up, I have no issues with it at all. You’re too quick for me! OP - https://www.reachfeverpitch.com/ourwork
  21. I think you need @frenchredto clarify what he means by “throwing under the bus”. One man’s scapegoating a player is another man’s honestly critiquing a player’s performance without blaming them. Managers are allowed to talk about individual players pre and post match, and it doesn’t have to be about always blowing smoke up their arses too. I trust Nige’s man-management style, the players seem to regard him highly and the sense you get from them is that he more “cuddly Nige” than the media Nige we see / hear. With the exception of Bakinson who he let off steam about (possibly a bit OTT) I can’t recall coming away from a Nige interview thinking he’d thrown any player under the bus…but that’s just my opinion.
