I’m surprised on the MDT that some posters who I thought were die-hard fans and went to every game (home at least), don’t actually go.

We looked very leggy today….wonder whether chasing the ball around for 90 mins v Man City in midweek in the cup, took it out of us. Murray is normally a rock yet she made 3 or 4 mistakes first half. Charlton by far the better side, physical, strong runners, and it felt a bit women v girls…not forgetting how young our side is. They were very cynical with their time wasting, like an Alex Neil PNE team, but no complaints re result.

But not everyone can make it here and you can’t always wait either. My stance on Louis is that I think he had something but he’s probably one who’ll develop later as he learns to use his frame / physique better. I suspect Louis might be impatient for his chance too. I guess we watch this space.

I only shouted at him twice…once for the trip on Weimann when Martin scored, the other for the throw-in…which showed inconsistency having gold Pack no further than the worn out rugby line, he then let him gain 5 yards. That annoyed me. I think someone else mentioned there were no offsides yesterday…the assistants got most throw-in decisions right too.

It won’t be two years…quite simply because all contracts end in June, so it will be 6 months, 18 months, 2 1/2 years, etc. I could see 6+12 if the trial goes well. You have to give the guy some incentive to up sticks. Think you’re right re Simpson. Sometimes you have to take a gamble, and although I thought he was perfectly adequate earlier this season, I wonder if time has caught up with him. Been in the squad til December, but not since. We brought forward Tanner’s recruitment (Shane he’s injured). I’m confident we didn’t blow a lot of wages on him, and although he was re-signed to play, he seems to have been a good influence around the training ground and the bench during games. This wasn’t a £1m+ punt…an educated gamble, that Nige hoped would buy him some time.

This kinda sums it up for us. Beat all the teams below us, mix against those around us. That second goal resembled a training ground session….in fairness Flint resembled a mannequin! ?

?????? Far too sensible a post. We now have two capable keepers. Max has proved he’s a genuine first teamer with this run. Up to him to keep his place, up to Bentley to keep pushing him. Its possible Bentley might want to move in the summer…he’s never had to play second fiddle before. He might accept the challenge and come back better.

Flint just seems a very strange character. I’ve seen him being the life and soul, I’ve seen him completely insular. I said to someone yesterday, he’s had a bloody good career to get to where he has from his Alfreton days. Us and Boro saw him at his peak.

I agree about saving shots, but I think it’s become massively important what they do with the ball too. He had 24 passes made to him yesterday also. He only had 5 shots to save. Re Bentley, I think he got dropped because his kicking / distribution was becoming a huge hindrance. In one game Nige was effing and jeffing about it. His handling was generally ok. All keepers will make the odd mistake.

I think it was a sensible suggestion last night, but having slept on it, I think your post is the benefit of that sleep. Had we got him in the summer instead of King for example that would’ve been fine. But not now.
